Dog bite scene was orginally shooted. Actor vineeth (as Nikhil maheshwaran) got dog bite really. He was hospitalized. He said in a recent interview 😂 Sometimes malayalam directors become real psychos. If they want to show the scene to be real
There is a lot of foreshadowing in the storyline, some of which I noticed while watching in the theatre as it was re-released. In the scene where father Steva is revealing the real name of Jayaprabha's character Aleena, the conversation stops when Mohanlal asks why Maheshwar didn't return, and the father starts crying. The father likely knows what happened, possibly through Alberto's church confession, which may have triggered Steva's father to advise Jayaprabha to end her longing for Maheshwar. Mohanlal and the student heroine are direct parallels to Maheshwar and Aleena. As said in the movie, Aleena is mesmerized by Maheshwar's music, just as the heroine is mesmerized by Mohanlal's music. Like Jayaprabha mentioned, she keeps encountering Maheshwar whenever he is with the seven bells. Similarly, near the seven bells, the heroine continuously spends time with Mohanlal. The lover's hatred shows the distress of Jayaprabha's real father character, which he cannot express openly but harbors towards Mohanlal or Maheshwar in private. In the storyline, Mohanlal doesn't tell Jayaprabha that his father is the reason for Maheshwar's death. However, there is foreshadowing in the scene where the play is happening and Jayaprabha is watching. In that scene, the father character in the play shows his dislike towards Maheshwar. In the scene, it is Mohanlal who tries to swing the sword at Maheshwar's hand.which is foreshadowing that someone is doing the work for her father
You should try to watch more of 90s and early 2000 films in malayalam. Those were the best scripts of all time. Everyone is hyping today's malayalam movies but when you get to see the earlier films you will be happily surprised to know that those are some of the great scripts that have ever come across in world cinema and today's movies are nothing in comparison to that. One of the greatest trait of Shri Mohanlal is that he effortlessly gives space for others to perform too. Jaya Prada ji have got a great space to perform and most of her scenes were very well supported by him. I believe that's the reason why she could perform her best even without knowing the language and its nuances. Because its a heavy script with beautiful dialogues and there was a lot for her to deliver too. Also the dubbing for her has definitely uplifted the performance to another level. Its heard that actor Mohanlal was not well during the shooting still it's commendable that he as always have been the great. He has the power to bring life to characters and add nuances that can never be put into writing. His contribution is much beyond the scripts and that can be very evidently noticed as you will get to see the different characters that he have portrayed. That's the understanding and perspective of a great actor as well as a self secured actor. No one can be compared to him in acting. Do check out Manichitrathazhu, Devasuram, Chitram , Kamaladalam , Aaram Thamburaan , Nadodikattu and its other two sequels..
Even the most used frame in the movie is the view from the library (throough the window pov). It's shown even from the 1st scene of the heroin's inro. The POV itself show that Maheswar is watching everything happening there. And in one of the "through the window pov" the camera can be seen rocking to and fro for a while. This clearly is a foreshadowing that the pov is of Maheswar, who is now a skeleton rocking to and fro in the glass cage. THE MOVIE IS SOOO DETAILED AND FULL OF BRILLIENCE...
Do you notice something that song karale nin kai pidichal kadalolam ven nilav ulkkannin kazhchayil ni kurukunnoru venpirav describing the climax of the movie...❤❤❤
