Mini cooker tip: put a piece of foil in it and then make any number of things.. sandwiches, single pizzas, cornbread.. works great

It’s smell strange because I suspected you didn’t clean the skillet first before cooking. All new products from factories recommended clean it first.

From what Dash says in videos and its book, if the food is not coming out of the cup, it's not ready. But you could use a bit of cooking spray first.
Re other uses: I've seen a Dash video showing a grilled cheese sandwich, and someone did that on their channel, too. Also, the packaging says you can make an omelette. You beat me to the pancake test, but I'm going to try dosa/ crepes.
