I don't believe that man has _ever_ been to a medical school.
He might have been, although it would have been in the context of single-handedly levelling the place for fun.
He's got a PHD in Death Dealing.
It's always "Who are you?" Or "Where are you?" But no one asks Geist, "How are you?"
He's probably fine, then will stab you squarely in the face for daring to ask him how he feels

WHY ARE YOU?

I love this song, ever since /a/'s mod decided to grace the board with this music on a loop in one of the greatest moments in the site history. I miss MDGeist mod.
It was 12 years ago, I remember it. It is a fond memory. How things have changed. The whole world changed...

MD Geist is one of the BEST anime ever created!
He was Commander of Special Maneuvering Force and had the supermundane fighting ability by virtue of the specific biological 'cloning' technology.
He fought so extraordinarily ferocious that he was regarded as dangerous and imprisoned on a satellite.
Blackcloud288 "The most dangerous"
ive watched this for years, know every word, where does it say "Special Maneuvering Force"?.. ive owned this on vhs since the 90's.. the Earth govt regular army creates the MDS to fight the Nexrum's power armor.. is this in the manga? its not mentioned in the shows.. yes they are based on the most advanced bio-clone tech and he was so terrifyingly good that the remaining Earth gov military imprisoned him on a satellite (in case they needed him) but never mentioned "Special Maneuvering Force"... oh well, i dont care, im just happy to talk about my man GEIST...i f you want to watch another great series from the same time, try "Armor Hunter Mellowlink"
M.D. Geist actually had some fairly subverting plot elements for the genre compared to the run of the mill action OVA from the period.
The hero is actually a villain, when presented with token OVA sex he rejects it, the love interest is not in any shape or form a real love interest and the ending is sorta nihilistic.
Sorta?
@@Leo___________ Well, M.D. Geist does what gives meaning to his life, it's just a bummer to everyone else.
Lmao "token OVA sex" I never noticed how that would usually come up in most OVAs.

Boss, get down. There’s an enemy sniper.
Honestly, probably not. MD Geist is basically unknown in Japan, and is only as infamous as it is in America because Central Park Media spammed the ABSOLUTE HELL out of it in the 90s. Geist himself is sort of a bizarre fusion of Zeta Gundam-era Char Aznable ("Quattro Bajeena") and Kenshiro from Fist of the North Star; I'd guess Char was moreso the influence for Miller than Geist.
Geist struck me as anime Rutger Hauer.
Mate you jus blew my mind
@@BlackArtistik that wouldve been great
To quote Mr. DBZ himself: “I can’t believe you guys remember Geist. I barely remembered Geist, and I did the theme song for it!”
That's because Geist is just a soldier.

The soundtrack for Geist was amazing it’s just sad that the quality of the OVA’s plot and characters could have been just as good but weren’t. But there is still enjoyment from it for some reason.

2021 and STILL manilist
@@MattyGamerMC 2022 and the manilist, itsumo desu
what is "manilist"?
That feeling when you do something absolutely badass, and feel no need to validate a damn thing you did leading up to it. Even unleashing a horde of monsters on a planet and fighting the same monsters until they're all dead.
Who are you? Caught in the frozen sky
Who are you? No one can answer that
A callous soldier has alighted
Upon a tiring battle in unfamiliar territory
Nobody knows all the memories he's left behind
Like how nobody knows the halation of the wind
Who are you that awakens
From within cold darkness which swallows all?
Can't stop! He's just a soldier
Can't stop! That's right, once he realises that
There will be no tomorrow for us
Can't stop! He's just a soldier
Can't stop! He's in a never ending war game
Where the battle begins along the horizon
Where are you? Always walking your own path
Where are you? Nothing more than a blue flame
The last thing seen by us
Will be your profile, stripped of emotion
Can't stop! He's just a soldier
Can't stop! Whenever he turns around
It's clear that there's no hope for the future
Can't stop! He's just a soldier
Can't stop! The endless war game
Will begin along the horizon again today
Can't stop! He's just a soldier

Such a catchy song. It really has that kind of sound that just stays in your head. Especially when considering that this is from an anime that came out in the same year Top Gun, Platoon, and the original Transformers movie came out in. For this, the 80s will never be forgotten.

MD Geist, the biggest chad in any anime
198X - 199X - golden age of anime for me. Amazingly detailed designs for vehicles and mecha, somewhat realistic drawing styles for humans and some of the darkest and most dystopian stories. Also, cyberpunk!
Also, I am one of about 3 people in the world that really enjoy the original M.D. Geist - the final battle in the Death Force bunker is amazing!
Geist is so patently full of machismo that he can turn Shinji Ikari into a berserker of war just by touching the kid on the shoulder.
+3forte
Hahahahaha Your are right!!!
silentsurvivor. When? Before or After he encountered Cory in White House?
3forte No! He can’t. Geist is just sociopath that didn’t suffer psychological trauma.
If anything, the only one perfectly qualified to help Ikari Shinji to deal his major psychological & physical issues is Guts the Black Swordsman from Kentaro Muira’s Berserk, Japan’s most badass character to ever exist. Since Guts the Black Swordsman literally suffered in Hell as well his abusive child, he can understand what he’s feeling.

This is such a manly song, I just grew chest hair and huge muscles from listening to this!
I remember watching this as a kid.. It wasn't received too well, but my brother and I liked it, especially this song... For some reason it always reminded me of Battle Arena Toshinden, I do not know why. Years later in high school, we created a video game based on the comic we created as children (both are currently being redone). One of the passive abilities of the main character, was named after this anime lol. It would activate when the character was put near death.
The character was part human (his mother was taken from Earth), and part of alien race called Zayinn, who were constructs of a primordial alien race, made to be living weapons. I remember in school someone asked if I called them Zayinn, because of Dragon Ball Z. I laughed because I hadn't even realized they sounded the same. But I was not thinking about that, it is supposed to be a play on the old Hebrew word for "weapon". It is shaped as a 7, when written in Hebrew, with 7 denoting perfection, and they were seen by the primordial race, as perfect weapons and some were used as a perfect source of energy as well..
It is jokingly implied, that the main character's mother, is like Samus Aran of Metroid, and his adoptive father like Star Lord from Guardians of the Galaxy (he is even called Star Viking, which is the name of his Strife Metal Band lol). I remember my brother and I broke into our older brother's comics and got into Guardians of the Galaxy, we were also obsessed with Metroid lol. It is also a nod to another favorite anime of ours, Project A-ko, where it is implied her parents are Superman and Wonder Woman lol. The original game was set up very much like Zelda, but sci-fi space, having you travel to 3 different planets, a derelict starship, and a massive space city. You primarily played his adoptive father Gunn, with our main character Einar, (the name Gunn gives him, as he was called KD7302-Kydan, on his home world) being 16 at the time.

Back in the 80s things blew up often and catch phrases were dished out afterwards.

The budget wasn't the problem with this film. The numeours animation errors you see in this film is because the director was young and unexperienced.
