You shoud be careful with betterhelp. There is ongoing investigation about the company hiring unlicensed therapist that are promoting their books etc.
@@andrejs9112 I think at this point we need Daves Therapy. Bypass middle man and get to the source.
I like how on the water test they had 2 rods baited and ready to fish
Testing can take a while
The Ryobi gun and Snap On wrench crack me up. What a combo
I've seen many green snap on guns in different videos. I doubt they are using ryobi at Dave's haha especially on camera....but I could be wrong
*Dave's Auto Center* Bravo well done, thank-you sir for taking the time to bring us along. GOD Bless.
My suggestion would be to pass on that job. Have a marina remove the engine and bring to you for the rebuild. Let them do the install. Just my opinion.
This awesome to watch thank you
Catalytic converters on a boat i’m not an engineer, those things get hot. I hope their watercooled.
They need to remove them completely
Dave I didn't know you did land AND sea
I know, right? Full service garage. Also I heard a saying. "The best days in a boat owners lives are the day they bought and the day they sold the boat." But it's love to own one just the same.
@bigfungustoenail Right? A regular old "surf & turf" kinda mechanic!!! NICE!
Nice job Tyson! Too pretty to run, just display it on a stand!
Another job well done!
You were talking about wrong cam. when you were disassembling the engine on one of the heads looked like it was a remain because i seen what looked like a temp sensor stuck on the heads.I did see on the rebuilds you did have them on it also when you went back together, as you should. Great work guys
Hi from Quebec ! One of the best Chanel out there !thank for the wise advise and content
Awesome , yaw work on inboard boat motors . Good afternoon from East Texas .
here to type out that i support the BetterHelp ad. good on u Dave
Happy Friday, Dave and team!🍻
Interesting about the cam. Had no idea. Always thought exact same engine just put it in a boat
Several different things on a boat engine vs a car/truck engine, biggest is camshaft, next is the Freeze/casting plugs, must be brass or stainless, as the cooling is most likely raw water (lake or ocean water) cooled, and a regular steel plug will rust away in no time
nothing like a new camshaft ❤
BOAT stands for Break out another Ten Thousand!
In Cali 1970s-80 bust out another thou
Prolly 25K for this one.
17:26 I'm sure this is their favorite part. Testing it out.
Why put a catalytic converter on a boat engine 🤔
Is there emission testing by the grabernment
Got it running good!
That build looks 💵 💵 💵 💲 🤑
you guys should start a second channel with longer cuts of working on stuff without music. i'd keep it on in the background all day long
Waiting for the end of the video to see Dave waterskiing behind the boat!
70s and 80s had a lot of boats built with 454. I worked on 2 one was and 18ft and the other was probably 22ft. Fiberglass hull the only metal outside of the engine, fuel tanks and jet drive was screws. The 18ft had water jacked exhaust manifold to allow what little space was left around the motor to be used for storage. The 18ft with nothing but a half tank of gas and me driving was crazy fast.
That was awesome!
I would hire a boat mechanic for the shop. Big money in bosts
Are you guys saying this engine was built from the factory incorrectly, or was this engine rebuilt incorrectly?
Hope the drain plug is in
People hate on Ryobi cordless tools, but there's a Lot of People using them, , , Yeah, including me, , , I have the whole lineup, , , just about
Dave: Today we have a helicopter engine that has a blown head.
Those are turbine engines. I don't think Dave does those.
Is that a GM L96 engine? I'm guessing but can anyone confirm my suspicions?
Edit: At 8:46 he said it was an L96 block.
Your secret is Tyson
I have no useful information. I sailed boats growing up. Yes. Masts and sails, and a 5 hp motor (if needed, which was rare).
Go fishing work great.
is there a reason to not install the speed of air dimple pistons?
Like I’ve always said humanity for the most part is clueless in all walks of life and existence 😮😢
Help NC
Electric motor in a boat = ok idea?
The acceleration would be insane
Too much weight with the battery.
❤🔥🔥🔥🔥
Noice
thought you guys couldn't use "Monster" anymore 🤷
problem 1 , boat ,, problem 2 , no fresh water cooling system ,, problem 3 a jasper reman engine , problem 4 its a boat ,,,,, nothing good on boats , money pits ,

👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Hey Dave, BetterHelp has gotten quite the sour reputation lately. Just letting you know.
This guy doesn't like catalytic converters because they remove pollutants from exhaust? Or because he doesn't like dealing with them as a grease monkey? 🤔 And yet in his advertisement for better help he talks about a misfire between you ears as he doesn't believe in a deity that doesn't exist? I think he needs more help than they can offer. He needs to open the shop door more and quit sucking down so many diesel exhaust fumes.
No motor failure explained. I feel like nothing mechanically was wrong and just grasped at water in the motor. The pic you showed is nothing
Because it was an engine made for a truck it was sucking water into the engine
It’s just an overpowered over priced water pump.
And lots of fun sunshine skiing and brews
