    This is random but relevant in some sense, this "HTS" and "HS" code reminds of website's user login passwords are hashed and then "salted" and "peppered".
    It's like the 6 Digit "HTS" code is the password and is "Salted" with the 4 digit country code, so the same password has different hash values. lol
    10:55 - This is interesting, this is really a great tool for buying profitable product from certain countries.
    Is the commercial value considered as the price sold to the importer by the manufacturer or is the commercial price is what being sold to the individual buyers in USA for a profit?
    Thank You this was extremely useful and helpful.

    Thank you for creating great content😉 Do you think there is a demand amongst amazon sellers and importers to get the right HS code? Creating such service would fit the market? Thank you for your response :)

    Hi. I've located the HTS code that was given to me by my manufacturer on the ITC site. What does it mean when the duty section has no information? Not even the wording free. Thank you.

      Usually means that no duties or tariffs apply to that product.

    How do you know when the tariff was issued

    I just wanted a $35 hat on ebay being shipped from the UK to USA. It says I may be subject to custom fees. This seems like such a hassle

      No, personal items under 2500$ will be exempted from customs duties.

    Is there a difference between tariff and duty or are they pretty much the same thing as it pertains to importing from China to the US?

    • @supplyia
      @supplyia  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The key difference between Duty vs Tariff is that Duty is the tax that is imposed by the government on the goods and services that are manufactured and sold within a country as well as on the goods and services that are imported from another country, whereas, tariff is imposed by the government only on the goods or services imported between different countries to protect the business of domestic manufacturers and suppliers by reducing the level of competition.

    If the value is less that $800 do you need to pay a tariff if there is a tariff for that HTS code or is a tariff part of the duty and only paid when the import is over $800? Thank you!

    • @supplyia
      @supplyia  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      This is true for most products. Just a small number of special products may still need to be paid for. the forwards will give you the exact answer according to your HTS.

    this may sound weird, but if the duty says free... how would this all work? you started with the duty free example...but moved on to the 6.50% .. so that threw me off.. the product I'm looking at 8711.60.00, says free and list 2 (when I use your link...) any help figuring this out...? the price of the product is 1,970 and just getting one.... I don't think I'm just adding the MPF + HMF... that's 47.14... seems very little... I feel like I'm missing something.

      Hi Ray, Don't forget to look at this symbol “/_ ” behind the free. List 2 means you have to pay tariffs (LIST 2 25% in effect since 2018)

    Do i need to pay any VAT with the duty..?

    • @supplyia
      @supplyia  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      When goods are imported into a country with a VAT regime, import VAT is charged as a percentage of the value of the imported goods. In addition to the VAT, customs duties will also be payable, depending on the type of goods. Once the import responsibilities are agreed, the IOR must pay duties and import VAT on the shipment at the time of import. The duties element is a sunk cost, but import VAT is always recoverable.

      However, my ideas are all suggestions. You need to ask your agent for specific information

      How would you know if your product has been granted an exclusion from one of these lists?

    Thank you for posting this video.
    I am bringing machinery to the US from Great Britain. The vendor sent me HS 84639000, but my broker insists that she can’t work with that number to clear the shipment from customs. It’s obviously missing two digits, but I thought a broker would know what to do with the HS provided and the invoice for the shipment.
    It’s probably an easy solution but I’m afraid to give the broker the wrong information.
    The machine and parts are for working metal.
    Any advise?

    • @supplyia

      The seller insists that the number is 84639000. I guess I just need to figure out the last two digits?
