Thanks sharing the new cage! I thought long and hard about these and only decided to build my own because I need room for 30+, and mine will be outside so they’ll need a little more protection from the elements. I’m incubating 110 eggs right now and they go in lockdown this Sunday. Those wynola’s do look pretty fantastic though. About the plumbing at the rear. It looked like to me that you could reroute the tube to come in through the back panel instead of through the top. That way it won’t be in the way of the poop pan. Just remove the short tube and run it through the highest opening of the rear panel, then reconnect. Keep an eye on your 2 hens in the lower cage. Once the male recovers from being bullied he may wear out the 2 hens. From what I’ve gather, the ideal ratio is from 3/1 to 5/1. Thanks again for sharing. They are a bit pricey, but appear to be a solid investment, and how handy is that egg dispenser design 🙂
Thanks for the suggestions! I will be hatching out some more quail (from another source) after we move and I will definitely be sure to divide everyone up more appropriately. And good idea about the plumbing. I think these cages are definitely an investment. I'm not sure how big my quail operation will get, but these cages seem like a smart way to go.
awesome looking quail cages Ms Punky !! i don't know if i told you this but last week i decided to buy 12 quail hatching eggs and a 12 egg incubator too. they have come and yesterday i started them off so hopefully i will get some quail chicks from them 👨🌾🐣💚🎥👌
Howdy! :) I have posted updates since this original video, but I have gotten rid of this cage. I was not comfortable raising quail in such confined spaces. It was very convenient for me, but not healthy for the quail. They showed obvious signs of stress living in this cage.
Nice cages. great plan to separate the males out. Poor little guy. At least you provided him with his own girlfriends that he doesn't have to fight for. Did you burn your finger?
@@punkyroo bahahahahaha!! I think our daughters have similar birthdays. My little one was on March 11. Happy Birthday Lily!!! And glad you didn't need a tourniquet!

Thank you! And good luck with the quail!!
How did the hatch go?
The instructions are on their website for water system and cage assembly. 1/2 inch drill bit for hole.
I have a similar cage, maybe the same cage, don’t know, I got it used. Works really well!
+Clueless Homesteaders Good to know! Thank you. :)

@@punkyroo yea I was thinking that wire was too much... I might do what I'm doing and provide ground space for mine. Thank you for the response
I'm glad I could help. :)
@@punkyroo anytime, also im going to sub to your channel... and tag you on my Quail pintrest, if its OK with you.
Nice looking cage. I thought it was a good review
Spotty chest girls, plain chest red boys. Sometimes girls can be red too but they have spots all over their chest.
You disconnect the lines and route them outside.

+Natalie Nicolaou I cut my finger on one of my daughter's birthday cards. It sounds insane, but it was a crazy sharp piece of paper! :O

LOL! No. This was a birthday card she has had for the last seven months. O.O
