    Thank you for providing the best description of the parts of the brushes and why (for example) the size of the belly of the brush for gouache can be smaller. I love your videos and so glad you focus on gouache. 💖 i find gouache so forgiving for beginner like me. Its easy to clean up like WC but covers like acrylic if you want it to.

    This was definitely a wonderful help in deciding what kind of brushes to use & choose for painting with gouache. I am use to the round brushes, liner brush & angled brushes but not the flat with watercolor. The flat brush is still one to get use to using.

      When you'll follow the tutorials inside the membership you'll see me use it a lot, the flat one is my favorite brush!

    You should do a video on your favorite brush brands

      That's fun you say that, as it's in my plan! I'm going to visit my favorite brand's factory and make a video about it.

    Can I use mop brushes?

      I think they’re good for watery consistencies. I keep them for the underpainting with very diluted gouache. But for thick consistency it holds too much water and you’ll lose a lot of paint in the hair.

    I have just discovered your helpful videos. However this one would be helpful if you said the size and make of the brush like other Artists on You Tube do. We are left guessing which size and model they are.

    • @CecileYadro
      @CecileYadro  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well sizes are not standard so it doesn't really make sense to tell you it's a size 8 when it's very different from one brand to another. And there are hundreds of brands over here!

    I’m sorry to have to tell you this, but I looked on the Daler-Rodney website, and the Round Aquafine brush is made of synthetic bristles as well sable and goat hair. This saddens me, as I’ve been a vegan for many years and always use paint brushes with synthetic bristles, as you try to do.

      @@CecileYadro i mean the paint the manufacturer puts on the handles of some brushes, the water gets under the paint and it peels off😊

    just a head up, in the video you walk in the shop and start bending the bristles. while ok for big brushes. you should be careful as alot of brushes have a waxy coating so you can ruin a brush testing it before washing. i know shops brushes its a bit differen as you want to know how it feels but this is meant of newbs who might start testing them out of a pack in a store or at home a wreck them.

      Not sure to understand what you mean?

    • @HankHillspimphand

      @@CecileYadro alot of brushes are shipped with a wax like coating on the brush to prevent damage. mostly in packs but in some loose brush shops can have it. if you go to bend it it can litealrly wreck the brush snap bristle them.
      so i cringe when i see people bend and test brushes. i only mention it because its a starter video and i ruined a expensive brush by testing it out before rinsing.
      clearly you know what your doing
      love your video
