It think it makes sense that the civilian Patriot was changed to a military vehicle in the finalized version of the game since Humvee-s were not available to civilians during the 1980s.

i honestly liked some of the beta vehicles better, mostly because ones like the banshee and infernus specifically just looked more 80's than the final versions.
@@ABlueyFan no it was never suppose to be a expansion pack it was just being heavily coded when vice city was done plus the development perfectly started in 2003 then it ended perfectly in 2004-2005 even if it does use assets from vc it only did that for carrying couple of old mechanics in vc engine and also completed some of the non completed features like cops chasing other criminals in cars not just you or the ridable and drivable train system and some weapon improvements like teargas which doesn't hurt you anymore making it easier to use it also makes your opponents cough to death unlike before where it just damages them when in radius

Rockstar changed their vehicles in final in order to avoid getting any law suits from the original car designers (if that makes sense). ...though Taxi/Police is super identical to Ford LTD LX, the only cars where their design didn't change much.

You forgot to mention the Side Mirrors of Cheetah in beta was based on earlier Ferrari Testarossa one Mirror placed on Windshield Pillar "Flying Mirror". on the final version, they placed it on "normal mirror position" just like the latest version of Testarossa made.
I wasn't really comparing the vehicles to their real life counterpart, I was more aimed at the comparison between final and beta design. The real life parts were just small fun facts.
The beta Washington was probably changed (For the worse) given it looked just like the real-life Lincoln Continental from 1984, it looks pretty quick and terribly, personally I think they should base the front end off of the Lincoln Mark 7 given both are Foxbody cars The Greenwood's headlights were also a match for the Plymouth Gran Fury of the time
I noticed in the making of the mod that most of the new car models introduced in VC were straight copies from the real vehicles. Banshee, Phoenix, Infernus, the Sentinels. In most of the cases they had a big downgrade in comparison to how they looked like in beta
@@nickrustyson8124 True, Glendale in particular was butt ugly. The Cheetah is also one of the few GTA 3 quality models in the beta that got a good bump in model quality for the released version. Anyway, on the other end of the story, if you'd ask me... the worst downgrade would be the Blista. Totally butchered.
Wasn't the beta TAXI also white? I mean, in the final version you can find at Phil's Place in Phil's trailer on the fridge a Kaufman Cabs calendar that has the picture of a white taxi.
Nah, it was never meant to be white. That was just a render without the body map texture on, which would make it be white. In all game screens it was yellow. Renders aren't always the game models either, so even if it was white in that, it still wouldn't change a thing.
now that i've reached the end of the vid, I'd also like to point out that the Perennial also has the same problem as the landstalker, either that or the car never really got the attention it deserved
Why not make mix of best qualities and details from both beta and final? Beta glendale/oceanic low roofs but with final grilles, beta FBI rancher badging and tailights, Beta Blista GPX etc.

With Oceanic they probably wanted raised fins going up from lower line on rear windows, but it would be too tall so they made that awkward dimple instead. It would be nice to see it done way 50s cars had these.

Surprisingly, the cutscene version of Admiral is already a beta version of it. Same goes for the Walton wreckage, I think. Sabre Turbo still has its beta wheels too, but it doesn't have the beta rear lights, although you can barely just see them. Some people converted the Admiral cutscene version in-game, which is pretty sweet considering that it has a very neat and detailed interior.

I tried to suggest to some modders, to convert those cutscene vehicles(both games), maybe even adapt them to the color system, or make a VCS version, or port them from VC to SA and the other way around, but no one took my suggestions into account.. Bars seem like they wanted sliding doors on Moonbeam, but that would require new animations and since they didnt bother to do these even for rear seats in helicopters then no chance for lil moonbeam to get such either.

Man Hunt would probably the biggest Rockstar's game if it didnt got pulled over due to Intense Violence . While Rockstar North ( back then known as DMA design ) was working on Grand Theft Auto : The Trilogy ( this covers GTA 3 , VICE CITY & SAN ANDREAS ) Rockstar Toronto was working on Man Hunt 1 , this can be proved since Man Hunt 1 got better graphics , mechanics than GTA San Andreas , even tho Man hunt 1 released in 2003 , meanwhile GTA San Andreas in 2004 .
yes indeed, I think it's known that MH was in development since the year... 2000-2001 actually, and that it's running on an advanced engine of VC (close to SA's). The Trilogy (original, not DE) also used A LOT of assets and textures as well. Scrap Yard in VC, a SWAT member using MH textures, Stealth feature in SA (albeit not so complex compared to MH's) and also few animations.

GTA VC used to be an expansion pack for GTA 3, but R* scrapped the idea and turn it into a seprate game, so they need to change a few things like the car reflections and license plate so the game looks different than GTA 3

I love beta stuff,but I dont get to using LC plates IN GOD DAMN VICE CITY. By my opinion, that stupid, if developer (rockstar) been lazy, dont be same.
R* didn't plan to keep the LC number plates, it was meant for a placeholder til they got VC ones. That, or it was really meant for a GTA3 DLC, as initially planned.
Think of this as cars that are meant to be 1:1 replicas of the ones seen in beta images, placeholders included. Also, the beta had two plate variations, one is LC and the other is NY. If someone doesn't want fully accurate models they can just replace the plate textures on their own
@@altoid8512 yep I did it on purpose even the plates because yeah that's how they were. The models are loyal to the smallest level. So If you want you can use magic txd and replace the texture with one with VC plate.
