    It’s the bits like the floor that bring a sense of nearing completion to a project! It looks great👍

      Yes this has dragged on for 2 years now! I seem to recall it started as a 2.5 NA, then I fitted a Disco 2 V8 and auto box ( that was a kings ransom in electronics so ditched that idea) then a 300Tdi, now the GM 4.3!

    Hello Mike if you remove and clean the replaceable tip and tighten the tip nuts you might find your soldering gun works again. Please keep up the great content! I subbed your channel after watching 2 minutes of the first video I watched love your sensense of humor.😀

    Please be careful with your hot soldering iron. I was cringing when you put it down on the seat fabric and then it moved when you touched something else! I know the seats are filthy, but they appear to be in hole free condition ( at the minute at least).

      Haha, I momentarily placed a hot inspection lamp (old incandescent / filament bulb) on my middle seat once. Ouch.

    Hi Mike. Love the channel! Ref the floor plates is there any reason why you wouldn’t fix the foam tape to the floor plans as opposed to the seat box : bulkhead lips? Many thanks

    whats the best method to get the tunnel in position or remove?, do you lift straight up and pull rear ward or shimmy sideway and roll over the Gbox?

    • @BritannicaRestorations
      @BritannicaRestorations  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      In an ideal world lift it up but the lower dash gets in the way
      I tend to remove the fuse box bolts and on a LHD I take the bolts out of the handbrake, then lift it at the back

    you could cut the gear stick rubber bellows part off flush with the base section, spin it round and glue it back on. But if you can get one made why bother

    I must have missed the video of the bulkhead work but is that just stone chip in the footwells Mike? I've toyed with doing the same sort of thing but also thought about Raptor bedliner, especially on the outside once it's been epoxy primed and topcoated. I'm thinking bedliner over the top would make it pretty bullet proof!

    • @BritannicaRestorations
      @BritannicaRestorations  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I have done a few bulkhead repairs - go to my channel home page and search for bulkhead
      We do not have Raptor here and I cannot import it by air as it is flammable, but the stuff we have for DIY is not so good, so I use stone chip, which in my 130 has been good for the last 8 years

    • @BritannicaRestorations
      @BritannicaRestorations  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No - the Td5 had a black mat for the floor and tunnel in one piece
      Those heavy mats are ok, but cost a fortune to ship, are quite difficult to manage on your own and didn't make a vast lot of difference in noise reduction compared to regular rubber mats in my opinion

    • @landyandy9617
      @landyandy9617 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Those mats were developed using the same material that’s on JCB back hoe floors, that’s why there so heavy.

  • @spitfiremk1uk
    @spitfiremk1uk 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    The main gear lever looks to me like it needs to be lengthened anyway. I suspect you will simply extend the connection putting the gear lever knob easily into your hand which will allow the rubber gear lever gaiter/trim and closed cell noise proofing to be fitted.
