this feels like when you had to keep the tv at 1% or your parents would yell at you and it’s being drowned out by the loud a/c so you lock in and focus on every sound you can possibly make out 😩
I've never watched SpongeBob. We couldn't afford TV. I haven't bothered watching it now that I have the money. What I'm trying to say is that this is how I have chosen to watch SpongeBob for the first time.
This video is so specific. But it almost perfectly recreates what it feels like to be some kid watching cartoons in the middle of the night, very nostalgic.
When I was younger, back when TVs were heavier than you could carry, I used to wake up at 3 am to watch reruns of SpongeBob. Sometimes, as I lay horizontal on my bed, my head would get dizzy watching all the colors and motion from an angle, so I would get up and try my absolute hardest to turn the TV on its side. Once I managed to quietly flip the 50 pound TV, I crawled back into bed and watched SpongeBob and his friends until i passed out. I miss the feeling.
Man this makes me cry. I remember the times I would get sick and my parents would set me up in front of the tv with a fan and softly play the cartoons I loved. Some of the rare moments when I actually felt loved as a kid.
Man, now I’m gonna cry! I remember getting sick when I was young and the way my mom would manually lower the sound on the tv til it felt soft… struck a deep core inside me. The warm hot chicken noodle soup… the Mickey Mouse blue-cool bandaid on the forehead to lower your temperature while you were snuggled up into bed. Next to you would be gingeralle or some other drink. I remember she would do that all for me before leaving for work. My mom was a single parent of 3.
@@rookinrookI used to not relate to my mom being a single parent but now my dad kind of just left so I relate more. She’s a single mother of 3 now. She would do the same thing for me when I was sick. I would lay there and she would put a ice pack or heating pad by my side and give me water. I would always turn on SpongeBob and fall asleep to the sound of her making cookies for me. Sometimes she would take the day off if I was extremely sick . Moms are literally the best.

My parents always fought and my older cousins lived with us and were always moving in and out with us and my dad was a bad alcoholic and I found movies and tv shows soothing when I went to bed because I had to hear something not just Silence all around me. I am still that way today
This is such an oddly specific video but this is exactly what I've been looking for. Usually I have to sleep with white noise + random youtube videos because when I don't my mind goes all over the place and it gets difficult to sleep. Thanks for this 👍
POV: It's nearly 5 am on a spring morning in 2008, you just woke up to find the last 16 years were all just a really rough dream. But your favorite SpongeBob dvd is still playing on your tv, you're in your comfy bed you thought you left behind long ago, the fan is on, and the window is cracked, wrapping you in a sweet cool rain-soaked breeze, as if mother nature herself sees what you've been through in your dream, and is saying lovingly "Hush my dear child, it's all over now." And with a profound sense of relief, mixed with a touch of excitement, you slowly nod back off as you remember that it's Saturday, so there's no school, and that mom's taking you out to the zoo tomorrow. The mourning doves begin their call as you once again slip into the inky abyss of sleep. . . .
This takes me back to sleeping at my great aunts house with my family (we lived with her for a little while). Me and my brothers sharing a room, two of us on beds while another slept on the floor. Us not wanting to go to sleep, knowing we had permission to have the TV on for light (we needed a nightlight still, this was a few months before life went to shit). Turning the volume up slightly, to maybe a 2-3. Sleeping to the cartoon and being eager for the next day, like nothing could ever happen to change it. The occasional emergency alert going off, waking up to George Lopez and having a mild freak out. Back when life was so much easier Nerveona, thank you for this video. Your bringing back memories I didn't even know existed, taking my life back to a simpler, more peaceful time
Idk if this unlocked some memory in my brain or something. I fell asleep to this, found it really relaxing. Then I woke up in a cold sweat and couldn't help but cry. I felt such a strong feeling of grief like I had lost a friend. I probably just need to be medicated lmao
it makes me feel warm not that lonely knowing we’re all humans here watching this to feel a certain type of feelings mine is comfort by nostalgia from my childhood where i used to watch SpongeBob at night or at morning when im sick and don’t go to school feels so nostalgic i miss it but don’t we all And im not even that old yet im like 18 yet feels so old idk why
As someone who grew up watching spongebob, (I was born in 2006) this feels so nostalgic. I never had a tv in my room to fall asleep to, but I had a whole bunch of spongebob music disks. I remember listening to them while I slept. As an extremely anxious person, it's hard for me to sleep. Ive gotten bored of listening to the same streams over and over. Im glad this found me! Thank you for making it
dudeee this takes me back to sharing a room with my older brothers i think i was around 5-6 and they were like 10-11 somethin like that and we were nickoloden kids growing up and we loveddd spongebob so we often fell asleep to it and we had this tiny holmes box fan in the corner of our room so this is exactly what that reminds me of and it makes me happy since I'm 13 now and we got seperate rooms which is somewhat a relief since we're all teenagers now and would probably fight every other day if we shared a room but we still remember those times and like to look back on them and laugh at the funny memories loll
I misread it as “fart noise for sleep” and I was very confused if it was one long continuous fart with SpongeBob quietly in the background or SpongeBob quietly playing but occasionally interrupted by fart noises
The entire intro to this is everything. The fan noise popping on with Squidward's clarinet was noticed and is actually SO funny. I've been sleeping to this for days now, thank you
this is how it sounds in my room right now. i have spongebob on prime and my heater is going. i’m 22. this show was my entire childhood. nostalgia is the worst feeling, like someone’s taken a steak knife and carved a gap into my heart.
It's so strikingly beautiful. Years ago, we all would find ourselves trying to escape hard times and heavy sorrows in the comforts of cartoons. We might have been afraid of the dreams we might have, or of the harsh truths we might have to face in the morning. SpongeBob was here when people weren't to make us feel less alone. To take our minds off of the pains that ailed us. And now today we come back to this place to find ourselves surrounded by so many people exactly like us. None of us are truly alone. We are all bound together by this experience, by this shared moment of comfort. Even if we never had this experience as children, we get to experience it now, we get to see the lives of others through it. And suddenly, it's not so much the escape that we're finding comfort in anymore. It's the reality. The reality that so many people share the very same struggles as us, and that so many have found (or at least, needed) a moment's solace in something so simple as a cartoon. I love everyone here in these comments. Thank you for this video.
Only thing this needs is doors opening and closing foot steps outside and it would sound exactly like when I was 13 and we were living in a motel. Extremely nostalgic for the past
You're a kid, it's a stormy night in your home, you just finished eating supper and decide to lay on your bed to watch tv in your bedroom. You're lucky to realize spongebob just started airing. You watched through the full thing whilst soothing storm can be heard as you slowly fall asleep
I love this so much. Love SpongeBob can’t sleep without a fan being on and having ADHD makes sleeping challenging to say the least so I a lot of times listen to a Thunderstorms or some of those that have thunderstorms with muffled TV sounds or muffled cartoons but watching SpongeBob just makes all the bad Shit in the world disappear. SpongeBob has always been my “feel good” show
used to watch spongebob late at night when I couldnt sleep until like 1 in the morning. i still can not fall asleep in less than several hours. anyways great job recreating this very specific sound, love you goodnight
This made me tear up. I'm saving this forever. This is exactly what my childhood was. Good times man. 🇯🇲. Now i'm 23 and wondering where all the fun days went but this brought them right back. From the bottom of my heart; thank you for making this.
I think im gonna watch every show like this now with Fan/AC/Rain sounds in the backround and anime in another tab, thank you for this bro. I went through a deep depression for a few years i'm finally climbing out of and this definitely helps me feel relaxed. Does bring me back to a happier time, thank you man.
Dude, this is the fourth time I've come back to this video and it's because I genuinely feel the intense heat of the beach, the air conditioning right above me and the TV on outside my room, While my younger siblings are eating dinner, this video perfectly encapsulates my vacation days from years ago
This is surprisingly giving me a nostalgic feeling idk its like I’ve done this exact same thing when I was younger definitely will have to try and sleep with this on!
Found this on my recommended feed. This brings me back to better times. Everytime I was sick when I was a kid, I'd throw on Nicktoons and try my best to sleep. Although I never had a fan on, it always was a heating pad. I wish I could go back to those times, well not being sick but still. Thanks for making this and resparking old memories. I'll use this for sleep.
My sister and I actually used to fall asleep every night to a tape of spongebob episodes so this is a weirdly specific but accurate representation of my childhood
This is what plays when you are in a black hole falling with a tv that is stuck on a spongebob dvd set that just keeps replaying over and over and you are stuck here for eternity listening to spongebob live as you are forever in the abyss for the sponge truly has won this round.
I remember always being the last one to fall asleep at group sleepovers. Not only because I've never been great at sharing a sleeping space, but also because I never seemed to feel safe sleeping in another person's house. On those long nights where I was uncomfortably warm and anxious, when I couldn't help but be afraid that there was something looking at me from the inky black hallway, I had the cartoons on the TV to keep me company. It was the light that let me see everything in my one little pocket of clarity, and the sound that lulled me to sleep.
This reminds me of when I was about eight and had bad insomnia. I’d go out to the lounge room in the dead of night when everyone else was fast asleep, and watch episodes of SpongeBob in hopes it’d put me to sleep. It never did, and this has created some kind of eerie nostalgia for me haha
Anyone else remember the good ol days of TH-cam when the channels use to do 24/7 reruns. I would have that on at my grandparents house with the fan. This is legit what it sounded like. You earned a sub!
@@Posh145 no this was before TH-cam put in a auto mod for copyright, there used a be a tiny screen for viewing and maybe even flip the screen to avoid. Now with auto they can detect that and terminate it. Sad times
I always loved waking up to TV being on playing cartoons in the morning especially nowadays cause it reminds me of waking up in the morning as a little kid and seeing my siblings watching TV or doing other things while it played in the background while my parents made breakfast or talked... this replicated the feeling a lot thank you :)
Holy fuck only earlier today was I thinking about an old memory of mine that’s similar to this-I remember being young and sleeping over at my grandparents’ house, snuggled up in their bed as everyone else was asleep. Their room always had a desk fan on during the summer, the kind that I was afraid to put my fingers near because I thought they would get stuck in the bars. It was late at night, someone was sleeping on the floor while I sat on the bed with someone else that was fast asleep. The TV was on in the dark room, blinds closed; Dora the Explorer was playing at minimal volume. I didn’t know what time it was, but I knew it was far past my bedtime. The sound of the fan roared as I strained to hear Dora’s words to the viewers, the sounds of snoring making it almost impossible. Time was irrelevant, and so were the years. It was the weekend, I was at my grandma’s house, and there was no concept of the future, or of the past. I simply just was; and I was happy to be there.
I love this sm. I used to go to my aunt's house to spend a couple of nights and SpongeBob would ALWAYS play when it was time to sleep. I always remembered all of the episodes from just sound.
Ive had tinnitus and insomnia for as long as i can remember, so when i can actually sleep, i have to have some type of backround noise when i do. And as a little kid, i had a spongebob christmas special disk that skipped a lot that my mom or dad would put on with a fan to help me sleep. I wanted to say thank you for reminding me of what it was like to be a little kid again
This is exactly what I do. A dim lamp on in my room, quiet sounds of random entertaining videos or shows on in the background and the ambient noise of my fan blowing. For some it might be hard to fall alseep like that but I can't fall asleep in pitch dark or completely silent environments. It's even worse if it's a combination of the two.
i would spend so many nights on the living room couch with our massive old school tv on volume 2 just to watch spongebob. thank you for this feeling again.

Back when life was so much easier
Nerveona, thank you for this video. Your bringing back memories I didn't even know existed, taking my life back to a simpler, more peaceful time
definitely going to sleep to this for a sense of nostalgia everyday
Idk if this unlocked some memory in my brain or something. I fell asleep to this, found it really relaxing. Then I woke up in a cold sweat and couldn't help but cry. I felt such a strong feeling of grief like I had lost a friend.
I probably just need to be medicated lmao
Dude...WE need to be medicated...
Yeah I doubt any of that happened
@@KodyEatsPeople damn :(

Probably grieving for those peaceful childhood moments like we all are
The soft and gentle piano paired with squidward and spongebob being horrible to each other in the intro was a great touch lmao
it makes me feel warm not that lonely knowing we’re all humans here watching this to feel a certain type of feelings mine is comfort by nostalgia from my childhood where i used to watch SpongeBob at night or at morning when im sick and don’t go to school feels so nostalgic i miss it but don’t we all
And im not even that old yet im like 18 yet feels so old idk why
I love that the fan also sounds like rain on roof. Like a cozy rainy night in as a kid watching late night spongebob.
Me:

"THE CLOROX TOILET BRUSH-"
This helped me focus long enough to book my ADHD assessment lmao. Here's to a better future
how’d it go?
@@rotisseriepossumhe got distracted probably
@Batman78488 they probably saw the notification about the original reply and promised themselves to remember to reply. We know how that went.
Mae pfp mood to this
Did you ever get it? Im glad my parents got me meds it made my life so much easier
the fan noises are tricking my brain into thinking its cooler than it actually is. bless you for helping me get through this summer
im freezing cold sleeping on concrete n the fan sounds like my heater so i somehow feel warm whilst playing this. thank u vro
Thank you for making it
dudeee this takes me back to sharing a room with my older brothers i think i was around 5-6 and they were like 10-11 somethin like that and we were nickoloden kids growing up and we loveddd spongebob so we often fell asleep to it and we had this tiny holmes box fan in the corner of our room so this is exactly what that reminds me of and it makes me happy since I'm 13 now and we got seperate rooms which is somewhat a relief since we're all teenagers now and would probably fight every other day if we shared a room but we still remember those times and like to look back on them and laugh at the funny memories loll
aww, i hope you enjoy your years as a teenager!! mine are just
ending (i'm 18 and in college) and what i wished i had done was been more outgoing :))
Im 14 and this is a great comment
Having the dumbest conversations at night laughing and then suddenly everyone stops talking and goes to sleep. Great times
I misread it as “fart noise for sleep” and I was very confused if it was one long continuous fart with SpongeBob quietly in the background or SpongeBob quietly playing but occasionally interrupted by fart noises
IM GONNA CRY?
@@c0zmozys LMAO
The entire intro to this is everything. The fan noise popping on with Squidward's clarinet was noticed and is actually SO funny. I've been sleeping to this for days now, thank you
@@HollyAnnaKam ❤️❤️❤️
this is how it sounds in my room right now. i have spongebob on prime and my heater is going.
i’m 22. this show was my entire childhood. nostalgia is the worst feeling, like someone’s taken a steak knife and carved a gap into my heart.
Something I didn't know I wanted in my life.
This is more nostalgic than actually watching old episodes.
This is genius. I think we need this for more shows and movies!
The fan sounds like an air conditioner although it is very accurate to have SpongeBob playing at that low of a volume
There's something wholesome about this, it's such a specific thing to search for. Yet I'm happy I got it recommend to me. Thank you for making this.
This is super relaxing and also very nostalgic, this is literally my childhood. Thank you TH-cam recommendations for this gem
Only thing this needs is doors opening and closing foot steps outside and it would sound exactly like when I was 13 and we were living in a motel. Extremely nostalgic for the past
This is so comforting because this is genuinely a childhood memory. I would always fall asleep with the fan blasting while watching spongebob:(
You're a kid, it's a stormy night in your home, you just finished eating supper and decide to lay on your bed to watch tv in your bedroom. You're lucky to realize spongebob just started airing. You watched through the full thing whilst soothing storm can be heard as you slowly fall asleep
Then you wake up to your bed covered in piss
@@Batman78488 You then tell your mother you accidentally pissed yourself while you slept
@@BuddyPlotshe then cleans you off and you get a clean pair of sheets and pjs and the cycle continues
This has honestly been helping me fall asleep a bit better lately, id love it if you made more videos with other shows too or just more spongebob even
I tried sleeping w/ this playing & I guess it’s neat.
Happy 25th anniversary, SpongeBob!

I feel as if I’m stuck in a black hole and behind me is some kid on their IPad watching SpongeBob…
The fan sounds more like a distant tornado, this is lightly eerie

dont worry, its just mordecai and rigby at it again

I’m crying. This is my childhood and the only was I could fall asleep as a kid. Thank you so much 💕
As someone who still watches ‘old’ 2000s movies and shows at night, regardless if I’ve seen them or not, I needed this.
SpongeBob has always been my “feel good” show
used to watch spongebob late at night when I couldnt sleep until like 1 in the morning. i still can not fall asleep in less than several hours. anyways great job recreating this very specific sound, love you goodnight
this feels like Ive fallen into the deep depths of hell and the only faint memories I have are of random spongebob episodes I watched before I died
Post Awareness Stage 6 is without description.
This made me tear up. I'm saving this forever. This is exactly what my childhood was. Good times man. 🇯🇲. Now i'm 23 and wondering where all the fun days went but this brought them right back. From the bottom of my heart; thank you for making this.
Why is this actually so soothing???
I think im gonna watch every show like this now with Fan/AC/Rain sounds in the backround and anime in another tab, thank you for this bro. I went through a deep depression for a few years i'm finally climbing out of and this definitely helps me feel relaxed. Does bring me back to a happier time, thank you man.
This gave me a really deep sleep that i slept through 2 alarms! Thank you so much for making this i listen to it every night :)
POV: it’s 2013, you are on a plane trying to sleep and there’s a kid a few rows away from you watching SpongeBob at full volume on his iPad Mini.
I would be alright with it
This is truly giving me memories i didn't know or remember i had
this feels so nostalgic
Haha very SLAT
This is exactly how I fell asleep for YEARS before things inevitably had to change, this video takes me back, thank you
10 years from now: “fan noise for sleep, but old penguinz0 complete streams quietly plays in the background”
I would fall asleep to movies when i was younger and SpongeBob DVD’s were no exception
Thank you for this💛
I remember always being the last one to fall asleep at group sleepovers.
This is so sweet of you to do ❤ I’m one of those ppl that can’t sleep without a fan on thank you darling
An ambience concept that I would have never considered but am immediately drawn and all for the idea. Somehow it just makes sense.
I love this.
Anyone else remember the good ol days of TH-cam when the channels use to do 24/7 reruns. I would have that on at my grandparents house with the fan. This is legit what it sounded like. You earned a sub!
Isn’t that a recent thing on TH-cam?
@@Posh145 no this was before TH-cam put in a auto mod for copyright, there used a be a tiny screen for viewing and maybe even flip the screen to avoid. Now with auto they can detect that and terminate it. Sad times
This is now my favorite yt video and will be using this to fall asleep.
1:29 when he said home, i felt the sadness and turmoil in his voice
This is what I've been missing my whole life, thank you.
this sounds like the night before my birthday when i was watching spongebob with my brother in the hotel on the pull out bed
I don't think you understand how much comfort this video gives... thank you so much for uploading this
this is such a genius idea and im envious LOOL
Snoring noise for sleep, but Dora's playing quietly in the background. Thank you for the video idea. Lol. But that sounds like a wholesome memory :)
wow that’s deep and sounded like a really really good sleep
I love this sm. I used to go to my aunt's house to spend a couple of nights and SpongeBob would ALWAYS play when it was time to sleep. I always remembered all of the episodes from just sound.
I literally can’t sleep without listening to this now
Ive had tinnitus and insomnia for as long as i can remember, so when i can actually sleep, i have to have some type of backround noise when i do. And as a little kid, i had a spongebob christmas special disk that skipped a lot that my mom or dad would put on with a fan to help me sleep. I wanted to say thank you for reminding me of what it was like to be a little kid again
Idk how to describethis, but this sounds like childhood
bro you don’t know how much this shit sent me back. this was exactly what it sounded like when I went to sleep as a child.
