John Batiste is an amazing individual and a gift to humanity for his great love of music and the performances that he gives back to us. I watched him on the Steven Colbert Late Show with much admiration of the great respect they have for each other. I lost my husband to leukemia and to see the love John has for his wife and her struggles is most inspiring. She will live on forever in that love.

I have Netflix. It is truly a masterpiece with a chip, flawed (cos it went off the rails quite early, with something unplanned) but still immensely beautiful in the end (coz Jon just took the unexpected event and worked it into a magical performance). It's something I have shared with every one of my friends who love good music like me and who aren't privileged to see it in its present format. I wish I can do that for you, but I guess I can't. I can only hope you see it soon, in a way that you would be able to conveniently enjoy it. Peace.

I'm not a pop culture guy and I don't fancy music and political people coming together BUT THIS GUY IS SUCH A LOVING SPIRITUAL SOUL. He is not a normal musician. He operates on a spiritual level that most music superstars are ignorant of, and he does it gracefully. That's why I embrace what he does.❤
That was such personal interview. Their point of how music takes us back in time could not be more true. It binds us as a living beings and takes the woes away, even for a moment.

We are so fortunate to have the musical genius and the loving soul of Jon. Then add the "Forever First Lady" playing the Peanut's song. If you haven't watched American Symphony" please do yourself a favor and watch it. Jon and Suleika both taught me several ways of very deep and soulful that I have made a commitment to follow them. I'm homebound and listening to them both has given me a deeper understanding of my soul and my outlook on life. I'm so over the moon that Suleike is doing so wonderful ! I say thank you to God/The Universe/The One/ in gratitude of her healing. Theirs is unconditional love that most people never have. Thank you both for giving me some tools that I can use to look at situations differently from a space of love. In the end, all you take with you to the other side is love, plain and simple.
Took my 18 yr old son who listens to everything. He came reluctantly and LOVED the entire gig. He talked about it for days to his buddies and wore his Jon Batiste T-Shirt to school the next day and for days following. Jon's talent and love for music is felt in the shows he gives. Such a talent.

This 67-year-old pasty white woman with freckles is also crying lol. Michelle and Jon are truly two of the most beautiful and loving and wise people on earth. It's always a joy to see either of them, but somehow both of them at the piano on Christmas day was so touching that I was moved to tears.

When Jon Batiste left The Late Show I was worried about him. I knew his Wife was ill and I thought he was leaving the safe environment of the show too soon. I worried that he might not find sustainable commercial success. I'm glad to say I was completely wrong. Jon's music is timeless and beautiful. Jon Batiste had to spread his wings and fly 🕊️. There's a lesson in there for us all. Jon had outgrown The Late Show band leader position. I couldn't see it then but I see it now. Fly high Young Brother Batiste. 👍🏾🏆

When I heard that Batiste wrote a song about a butterfly I was suspicious because, as "Butterfly Kisses," proves, that song can get very unpleasantly sappy. Then I heard his song and it just soothes beautifully. The right song for the right time personally for him, and I think healing for the rest of us.

Beautiful people. I'm white, 84 now, brought up as a typical white kid with very little exposure to music, altho my Dad had learnt violin as a small kid, and loved listening to little bits of classics on a Sunday evening, so I got that too. What most makes me sit up & take notice in this video is the depth of these guy's characters - they know pain, they know joy, and it shows ! We whites often have a stunted appreciation of the pain in others' lives because we are living as a privileged class in this society - that's what we consider our 'right' even f we never express that. It's obvious with those who get spiteful to people like these 2. Thank you guys for reminding me of the facts !~ Never let me hear one word of criticism of them for what I felt as they talked together - deep souls, with much to teach others ! I will be checking out his music - I did not know him before !

You can tell by the way that Jon moves his head in and closes his eyes that the music is just moving through him. Really powerful stuff, music is something that heals, and for those of us that are blessed enough to be able to find expression in it, that feeling is tremendous and overwhelming.
Nothing makes me feel so much so quickly like music does - and people like Batiste touches me so effortlessly, music truly flows through him. This was a beautiful conversation.
