Boxing has 4 major organizations the WBA, WBC, WBO and IBF (this belt is considered lesser to the other 3 and occasionally gets excluded in this conversation), who each have their own rankings and champions. Adonis just became the undisputed champ, meaning he holds all the major title belts, which why you see him with 3.
WBO is the one that tends to get left out because it's the newest of the 4. The "3 belt era" was WBA WBC and IBF to be considered undisputed. WBO is what made it the "4 belt era" in like the mid 2000s. If the IBF isn't in this movie then just like in real life, they didn't want to pay the fees to include the title in the movie just like fighters don't want to pay to be ranked and thus contend for that belt. All 4 organizations are equally corrupt in different ways and hurt boxing.

Creed III was really great! The only negative is really missing the presence of Rocky after how well the previous movies built the bond between Rocky and Creed. The plot also does rely on some contrivances, although I wouldn't say there's anything out of bounds for the series. But the characters are still great, Majors is an excellent villain, the action works very well, and the sense of real anger and resentment between Creed and Dame keeps the film fresh.
Creed III is just perfect...Creed 1 had a great story but weaker end antagonist in the end, Creed II had a insane god antagonist at the end but an ok story....Creed III got both an amazing story and end antagonist fight !! Diamond Dame Anderson is legit a more problematic threat to Adonis because of his past, playing on his guilt and honestly he kinda is a victim in some way. That end fight, the Battle of L.A. is just a amazing way to do a homage to the "Thrilla in Manila". Adonis in white and Diamond in black as well as some weird anime reference like the double punch who just looks like the Goten vs Trunks punch in DBZ...Someone knows his classics !!
Loved this one 🔥 I think my only issue with the movie is MBJ balancing the directing and acting.. I think there was a lot of focus on the direction that made it feel a little too polished, and it also took away from his acting performance in some parts (I still think he did really well but some of his delivery feels forced, like you can tell he’s still in director mode)
Watching the trailers it felt like Damian was just going to be a dickhead that was jealous but after watching the movie in theatres it’s clear to see why Damian has so much resentment for Adonis

He was dropped from endorsement deals which isn't surprising with how companies cut ties out of fear. However it's come to light that he was the one who called 911 and there are witnesses coming forward saying she was the aggressive one. Now his lawyers just obtained evidence of police leading and coaching her through her statement. Unfortunately in this country and the social media world you're guilty until proven innocent.
My initial thoughts when I left the theater still hold true that this movie I think is the most unrealistic of all 9 movies. Plugging Dame in as last minute replacement for the 1st fight is fine and akin to Rocky 1 so I can let that slide. No matter how much training he's done for himself in the 18 years in jail, no matter how gifted he is to start, wouldn't hold a candle to world class professional boxing training and sparring that Mama's Boy had been getting on the outside. Even that little uppercut signature trick should be handled by a seasoned professional. Then even after winning the title in his 1st fight, with the payday he got and some kind of endorsements, sure he'd be living in a nicer place but he damn sure wouldn't have an MTV Cribs place yet. Dame's story is the epitome of a flash in the pan.
I do like how Mary Anne’s death was portrayed though. It was one of the best scenes in the series imo. But it felt shoehorned in and like it had nothing to do with the rest of the movie.

@@megafan2000 Maybe they were there but we just didn’t recognize them. They were young children when we saw them in Rocky II. They’d be in their 50s or 60s by now. Something that was confusing about the movie: How did Mary Anne know Leon? I thought when I watched it that she was saying he was one of Apollo’s other children, but I wasn’t sure.

Best looking of the 3, but I'm going 2 - 1 - 3 when it comes to Creed. Overall I think I go Rocky 3, Rocky 4, Creed 2, Rocky 2, Rocky 1, Creed 1, Balboa, Creed 3, Rocky 5
Pretty close to mine except flip flop Rocky 3 with Rocky 4..... although I will say The Rocky series has much better dialogue. Most of the Creed dialogue sounds like it's from a soap opera. Not knocking it ,but Stallone is just better.

Some things I like better in RvD than in IV but some I don't so maybe the proper amalgamation of IV and RvD is what would make it clearly better than 3.

Right. I wish they would have played up the Adonis/Drago friendship more to fuel Adonis’ anger towards Dame more. Not only did Dame manipulate the situation to get himself a title shot, he injured Adonis’ friend and cost him a title shot in the process.
I thought the ending was super rushed imo, the transition from the 2nd act to the final fight was abrupt, there was definitely some story missing there. But honestly, dame anderson would beat the shit outta kang fr

Damian was lucky he didn't fight viktor drago, drago hospitalized adonis, he's obviously killing damian + drago was taller and always put up a tough fight, no one has defeated viktor drago except adonis
The movie was good but imo it’s not as good as 1 and 2. Even though Rocky’s presence wasn’t needed, his absence was felt (especially at the funeral). I wish they would have at least given us a line of dialogue or two explaining what Rocky’s been up to or if he’s even still alive.

Michael B Jordan is a huge fan of anime. So he was inspired by anime when doing the fight for this movie.
