    Thank you! Saved me on the spring and little brass "socket adapter thing" orientation at 2:58. I have a 2011 Hyundai Elantra Touring and this is the unit I have.

    Thanks! Just did the same fix, and this video was super useful.
    It would be awesome if you could update the title (or repost) with the model year (2010), since the steps are a bit different for each year.
    To anyone reading with a 2010 Elantra: this is exactly what you have to do. It looks like there are shortcuts, but there aren't. You have to:
    - remove the plastic dash cover below the steering wheel
    - remove the metal cover behind that
    - remove the plastic shroud around the steering wheel
    - detach all cables from the steering wheel column (yes, really)
    - remove the two front bolts (closest to the steering wheel) holding the steering column to the body. The front half of the column will rotate up/down, but not enough to get at the motor.
    - remove the two rear bolts holding the steering column to the body (the ones attached to the hinged bracket emphasized in this video)
    - let the steering column rotate down (steering wheel will rest on the seat)
    - turn the wheel a bit to the right to get better access to the motor assembly
    - everything else is shown clearly in this video.

    at 2:14. that metal doesn't suppose to move like that. it needs to be strong to hold the column in place. that is why the bolt at 6.24 is there.

    I have 2009 Elantra same car. That bracket does not move 90 degrees as show on this 2010. That bracket needs to be removed to get the last bolt out to open the motor. The only short cut is not having to remove the motor from inside the car. What I agree with most is that this can be a very easy job because I got everything apart and back together with no issue.

I cannot leave the steering wheel when driving.. to the right its hard to rotate.. when i unpluged the eps wire under the steering wheel it went back to the center.. torque sensor should be calibrated? changed? may be the motor? i asked many mecanic and they all said that i should change the column and everything, but im searching for any possible chance that it could be fixed

      @@NotMikeFix i just took it to a shop who says they have OEM Hyundai diagnostics software. They said the existing DTC fault codes are not allowing the software to perform a recalibration or SAS reset. They said the first codes that came up were C1259, C1290, C1604. After finally getting those three to clear, any attempting an SAS reset (but failing), now it leaves C1260. Wondering if I screwed something up when installing, but I thought I was being extremely careful. Other contextual info, the tech said the steering wheel angle was off by "3,000 degrees".

    • @NotMikeFix
      @NotMikeFix 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@josephtese5037 yeah, mine didn't have the steering angle sensor. Is the sensor alright? Reading at a funny angle? Not reading at all? Etc.?

    Once you replace the EPS module, did you have to calibrate it or program it using a scanner? I have Elantra GT 2013 and has the same issue

    • @carmaniaoficial8584
      @carmaniaoficial8584 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you turn off the battery before doing the job it is not necessary to calibrate, as long as you mount the steering wheel in the same position...

    • @josephtese5037
      @josephtese5037 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@carmaniaoficial8584 Weird.. I had the steering wheel relatively in the same position, and the EPS light came on and lost power steering after re-assembly. Are you saying a calibration is all that's needed? Can any shop do it or does it have to be OEM Hyundai?
