    Im no plumber but i do think one would use plumbers putty for mating surfaces and pipe dope/thread tape for the threads 🫡

      Depends. My assembly instructions say NOT to use an oil based putty on marble and other solid based materials because it will stain them.

    That new silicone isn’t gonna fix the crack in the shower base

    They use silicone to seal the drain is the first mistake

      That's what you're supposed to use, my friend. Putty should never be used with fiberglass or acrylic shower pans or plastic drains.
      Putty is junk anyway. Only cavemen still use that shit.

      @@vivelavida8317some plumbers use plumbers’ putty to seal it but really over time they will both wear either way

      And some say don’t use oil based putty because it will stain certain solid materials….ie marble corian, etc. I’m facing same issue…what should I use?
