3:34 Put your turreted gun (Chord)on top, so you have 360 degrees of rotation. Really nice for Savages chewing up your tailpipe with buzzsaws. Also, the Avenger up front protects your cab. It's also a lot of weight up front, and lowers the center of recoil
While, at the same time, making several big mistakes on the build, examples below: - from is pretty much as wide as it is long, bad for maneuverability - combining different weapon system types on on vehicle - lots of ablative armor in places where it is not needed (a backline cannon truck with rear armor ... srsly? if you got attacked from behind, you got bigger issues then armor ...) - putting inertia based melee weaponry on a slow, ranged combat vehicle - bad cannonplacement, both in terms of vulnerability and in terms of center of mass This guy has no clue what so ever regarding vehilce design in Crossout, this video is literally trolling newbies into MAKING mistakes then avoiding them -.-

Good stuff for absolute beginners. I've seen a few "basics" videos where the guys making them have got faction purples, it's nice to see someone actually making a basics video. My tip for rookies would be: Aesthetics are nice, but I'd rather survive driving a junkpile than look good dying. Can it be driven? Can it fight? Then go forth and conquer.
I choose speed and maneuverability over protection now, plus it keeps my power score down. I usually go straight to capture the enemy base but I keep 8 booms on the front just in case I meet one or two people.
@Professor Thinker I mean I have 8 boosters and six lances. I’ve won most matches single handedly doing this. I am an exceptional driver and I’m great at escaping say there’s more than one enemy coming for me. Usually the base capture will be higher than the enemies if I am the only one left and I’ll just survive by running until I win. Map awareness😂 I’ve explored more of the maps than most people. You’ve probably never had more than two boosters on your car right? When you add a lot and go over 200 and try to turn there is traction issues where you sort of just slide and the wheels don’t do much. You have to design the frame a certain way and keep the build somewhat light otherwise a big heavy build will just slide endlessly until the speed drops enough for it to grip again. Also keeping weight light keeps your power score low.
Truer words, what do beginners, such as myself currently, know about legendary relic parts and 80+part limits; a 10 energy limit couldn't even power some of said builds; I just wanted on how to drive my 40part/3 blue weapon junk-pile PoS. That said, the later game build possibilities they show in their "basics" video has made me eager to continue; like a kid in a candy chop-shop!! >XD

Yes at least a locator (radar that takes no energy) and a radio are necessary. Also add fuel barrel and fuel tank as soon as possible. Think by level 7 engineers you should be able to craft both quite easily.
I ended up building light and medium tanks that have decent DPS but are usually upgunned by other bulids. My strength comes from acting like a tank and taking accurate shots from a far away distance. LMG shots are negated usually at such a range. So Tanks sorta fall into "Support" as in a 1v1 CQC they don't have enough pressure or speed to punish.

I did realize I forgot to put a fuel tank on there. What did you tweak? These are by no means amazing builds just workable new player ones with basic parts.
That's a mistake I made a lot... taking what I have and just throwing it onto ma car hoping to make it more tanky and more sustainable. But all it does, is raising the power score without really making yourself more powerfull - because people can strip your "armor" within seconds.
A big part of these parts have no puspose or even counter purspose. Other than looking cool. What can help is more explaining of center of mass; mobility/turn radius; ratio of SP/HP/mass; types of parts. One might say mentioning the purpose is too advanced for a beginners guide. Fair to say, you did improve the car. It would help teach new players if you say why something is done, apart from just doing it.
definetely four chords. i personally never hold down fire, i always burstfire because it's more precise. that way i can aim for other's guns or wheels AND my guns don't overheat.
Been playing Crossout for like 4 days and i have to say your friend has a lot of parts for a noob got level 10 engineers and wanted to go for a cyclone build later on so when with scavengers bought a growl i don't know finding it hard to drive some thing good early on not a huge canon fan do love the scorpions tested a couple of scorpion hover builds in the exhibition but i like the fast moving cyclone builds looks like it would be fun a a match have to say the reaper is a cool little autocannon and the range on it is better then the canon even better then the little boy and more accurate if you tap fire really fun but as soon as some one with machine guns come close or sneaks up on me while i'm on scope its gg for me also my account is fully free to play
Mount the avenger on the front so it doesn’t kick up Edit: also are you on console, because some of those parts look different like the hatchet. Or is it just the old version
Nice Video man. Noob to Crossout just trying to get my building legs and learn some new tricks. You showed me a lot of interesting and helpful stuff that I am sure is going to help me on my future builds. I've got to watch your other videos now. LOL But I have a question and you can hit me up here or on xbox1 (NorseGOD0330{Always looking for friends on there}) . So to my question; does building a heavier vehicle affect speed? I mean you would think it does but some time games ain't life based. And what I mean by heavier is adding all that armor, I get why you want to do it but let's say you wanted a hit and go type vehicle , something to get in there and get out. Or is that a bad idea? Just curious had a thought of a couple vehicles I would like to build but not sure if they would do very good. Thanks and once again great video.
Patrick Stehl I think it does, I did some experiments with my own cars using a light cabin and a light engine, the more weight I added the slower I became. So Im more than positive that it weight does infact affect your speed because you're carrying around more things. I also found out if you're pretty slow in battle, when most of your armor gets knocked off you become faster due to the lack of weight
They need to buff the 57 mm and the 76 mm in this game cus they do way less damage than a shotgun build so it's kind of stupid that cannons do very little damage
Since the machine guns still do decent damage at a larger range it just depends on how you use them. Shotguns are great if you hit up close, but at any distance the machine guns are better imo. You just shouldn't continuously fire with them and just burst fire.

I know, right? Been playing just a few weeks. My build at the moment looks like goblins tried to make a submarine, then when it didn't float they slapped three kinds of wheels on it and turned it loose. I've made stuff I really liked the look of but was disastrous in combat. I prefer to survive driving a junkpile than look good dying.
Hello, is it a good idea to build something to look good rather than to be the most effective at its power score? I have about 120h in Crossout, fairly new you might say, going for a build with 2x Thunderbolt Shotguns, 2x Charged Radiators and a Cheetah engine, i like to build my vehicles to actually look like some sort of a car, not just slap as many layers of materials like i've seen most of the new players do, and i do fairly well in PVP, im able to take down 2-3 people before i blow up due to having only 600-800 health. With enough speed i can take down a player up to 9k power score depending on how well they hide they weapons.
Alexic94 i have 3 thunderbolts the cheetah a cooling module monster truck wheels and chameleon the wheels wprk with the motor to increase the weapons charge up time and the chameleons
It's very difficult to make a car that looks as good as it plays. Any move for aesthetic inevitably sacrifices some practicality. I have occasionally had really cool looking cars that also played well, but as you make improvements to the vehicles performance inevitably the familiar shapes of a car are lost. One thing i will say though is that the vast majority of damage comes at an angle so lumping all your armour right on your sides can be a mistake. I've recently been making cars in a H shape and it results in a car that can take twice as many cannon shots for the same price, loses far less armour from cannon shots as it's more spread out and i no longer get 1 shot from cloak lance builds unless i'm T-boned.
Ok I've been on crossout for over a year now PC and Console.... I have people asking me why I stay alive in most of my battles or MVP (Most Valuable Player) nearly all my battles? the reason behind this its not how much armor you have around the cabin or how many Hit points either? Because higher you go = more power score = more advanced players on battlefield you face. Now even for me at my level I also choose to build low power score when I do daily challenges I use a low power score build instead of a high build don't need rare, epic, or legendary weapons to beat the challenges so what this means is less power score your build should be around 1200 -1800 power score no more than that You should get all your daily challenges done less than 30mins that's every one done so to do this concentration is key build only common parts.... 3 chord (MG) or two close shot guns or avenger (cannon) no chord with cannon for challenges read what challenges it wants from you for every challenge = scrap and 42 completed gives you a crate.... So let's get started. For your cab use guerilla not huntsman remember your going for less power score. Attach your guns on top of the cabin always for starting out reason is for this your cabin is last thing to go want survive long as possible your guns give up before your cabin does and your weapons last longer with attached to cabin. Now build a standard build under the cabin leave space take away chassis it be a gap under your cabin now use that gap to put fuel barrel to get free fuel in won battles also is key to sell later for gold (very important when staying alive till the end) under your cabin your fuel barrel should be always there hidden underneath also use a pulley to get you back on your wheels if knocked over.... once have a standard build built (go to random builds or expedition builds from players starting out builds your choice here. Now go to battle! (Make sure its level 4 battle or goto bots NPCs (warning less XP is won no fuel is given in this mode) In battle aim for guns not cabs give a few shots to one player don't go for kills use a few shots on each target once done say 5 hits on 5 targets you explode your now out of the battle but your not out of the leaderboards just yet.... chances are stronger your team they kill the target you didn't get = assists for you so even you die on battle field you get kill assists from your team these build up points only starting out players here when get better at the game you go for kills not just assists to win onced you get better at the game now the fuel barrel comes into play for every battle won and your still alive your rewarded fuel build enough saved fuel then sell it. Buy rare weapons or use it for common cab parts like a huntsman (goto faction mechanic and make huntsman 75 scrap it be free because won this scrap from all scrap just won from daily challenges) sell that cabin for more gold = profit and crate you get after complete 42 challenges sell that for gold can get upto 78 gold for it nice bit of free gold on the market by doing this you save alot of scrap, making gold from fuel and parts etc this is how I started out in the game it works effectively I now have so many resources saved I don't need to buy into the game and its great for starting out players guide hope this helpful guide helps you all starting out players or long term players too and don't forget just to enjoy the game you can get alot out from it..... i.m.o its best free game out there right now for all ages 5yrs up can play it...... welcome to Crossout see you on the battlefield.
You made a noob mistake. The rounded radiator piece you placed on back side of vehicle to protect the radiator itself has no defence. It lets damage pass straight though it
So I am not even sure the hatchet even needs to be revealed to cause damage. I don't think you don't need to cover the cab. Cover your modules and weapons.
3:34 Put your turreted gun (Chord)on top, so you have 360 degrees of rotation. Really nice for Savages chewing up your tailpipe with buzzsaws. Also, the Avenger up front protects your cab. It's also a lot of weight up front, and lowers the center of recoil

It would help teach new players if you say why something is done, apart from just doing it.
mr g i am running a jawbreaker 2 avenger cannon build wit 4000 ps and 1500 hp and i am engoying the cannons
New player here, 4 chords or 3 + a radiator? I feel like I do better with 4, but at the same time I do burst fire too long.
Three with radiator
definetely four chords. i personally never hold down fire, i always burstfire because it's more precise. that way i can aim for other's guns or wheels AND my guns don't overheat.
^^. I always burst at longer ranges but full auto at close range
1 radiator does nothing go for 4 chords
if you have 8 energy get 3 chords then 2 radiators
I'm new and I play on mobile still found it pretty helpful and the car I have a a ramp car lol y always send em flying
Colloquial term is “wedge”
You are one of my favorite teachers
“Attach your guns to your cab”
An exception is a when making a sniper build.
Thanks so much it helped😊
"Correcting noob builds" Alright guys we are going to start by completely scrapping this build
Mount the avenger on the front so it doesn’t kick up
Edit: also are you on console, because some of those parts look different like the hatchet.
Please do more beginner/noobie builds, cause I'm now lvl 8 and "it's a har knock life, for us"
As a new'ish player i get on better with shotguns than machine guns.
Heya it seems like all these builds and videos are tailored to pvp games? What about a build for adventure mode?
@Professor Thinker it's still a challenge
Especially because a part limit of 50 really inhibits armor
@Professor Thinker still doesn't really work in adventure with story because of the enemy damage with regular bullets
@Professor Thinker for cannons yes for mg no
As someone who started playing after the graphics update, wow this is... Bizarre
The mistake that noob must correct is to protect the cabin not the back or the front
That build looks beastly
Hey there stranger.
You should’ve built a six by six for better stability and more speed pulse you can put more things on it.
Can you make a review of the new vehicle pack ?
Prancing Pony? I did a vid in it a while back when it was in test server. But yeah I could.
Mr. G its another pack called "Pandemic" Check it out
Just started yesterday wuts a running board do?
It’s an armor part
you moved the cabin back and added a wider frame, just to move the cabin forward again
* uses Avengers not wasp * bootiful -_-
Instead of weighing down the front could you just put something on the back to keep it from tipping
Muy bien construido amigo
They need to buff the 57 mm and the 76 mm in this game cus they do way less damage than a shotgun build so it's kind of stupid that cannons do very little damage
Cannons are still good imho
Since the machine guns still do decent damage at a larger range it just depends on how you use them. Shotguns are great if you hit up close, but at any distance the machine guns are better imo. You just shouldn't continuously fire with them and just burst fire.
New player mistake number one, Don't try HARD RAIDS until you know you are ready! It usually screws the whole team. Now back to my ice cream.
This guy good at talking to himself
That’s YT in a nutshell
10:14
An "oof" and a "oh" mixed together. LOL
4 chords is deadlier at that PS imo.
Lol@ jaychewin "now let's put a happy lil firebug on the front of this lil guy, maybe he was planning a little Pyro trip into the big old Wasteland...." not making fun of no one or being a bully but I could just see the intro to the Crosscut Build Time hosted by ..... on PBS AND DISCORD STREAMS EVERY SUNDAY AT 8AM. Happy Building!
You: oh my god its so ugly.
Me: who cares? As long as it works its fine!
Crossout encourages a new kind of beauty
i have found my avocado!YAY!
I accedantly removed my beginners car and now I can't play and I can't bould a car because I don't have enough energie so I'm stuck
Can someone help me. What do I do with the engraved casings????
I build Long cars and my back ALWAYS gets shot
Alexic94 i have 3 thunderbolts the cheetah a cooling module monster truck wheels and chameleon the wheels wprk with the motor to increase the weapons charge up time and the chameleons
that sounds great, whats the power score?
I try and do both, but never sacrifice too much for looks.
"[B]uild something to look good?"
Yes.
Bru level five with engineers is a challenge
(Make sure its level 4 battle or goto bots NPCs (warning less XP is won no fuel is given in this mode)
In battle aim for guns not cabs give a few shots to one player don't go for kills use a few shots on each target once done say 5 hits on 5 targets you explode your now out of the battle but your not out of the leaderboards just yet.... chances are stronger your team they kill the target you didn't get = assists for you so even you die on battle field you get kill assists from your team these build up points only starting out players here when get better at the game you go for kills not just assists to win onced you get better at the game now the fuel barrel comes into play for every battle won and your still alive your rewarded fuel build enough saved fuel then sell it.
91k views but I see the same 20 people every night when I play. I wish everyone knew how great this game is. Everyone get back in and play!!!
I'm trying
I know you are I I really really appreciate it!!
You made a noob mistake. The rounded radiator piece you placed on back side of vehicle to protect the radiator itself has no defence. It lets damage pass straight though it
1:21 you have ZeroFrames
Why not make wheely bar for cannon kick.
Try a triple fortune on a humpback undermounted
Hmmmm
Nothing wrong with a carjack if you got a spare energy and nothing else to fill it
yeah
I prefer auto cannons, got 3 rapiers and 13 engineer levels!
Thank's
Do u know how to spend talers I have a crap load of them 1.6 mil
So I am not even sure the hatchet even needs to be revealed to cause damage.
I don't think you don't need to cover the cab. Cover your modules and weapons.
1:44 DAMM YOU SCARED ME
How do you change difficulty?
You don't
Oh yes, before the major graphics update.
Until you see a driller this will work drills to much right now
Poggers for God
no fuel barrel??
I need my car jack! My siege tower is almost 10 meters tall
how to delete parts from the vehicle?
GOT IT. right click -_-
Says he's correcting rookie mistakes.
Proceeds to use cannon instead of machine guns.
Why no jack?
Why get rid of the car jack?
wastes energy you could use for weps
