  • Our Matcha Konomi Millstone is handmade in Japan from traditional Japanese granite named the “Aji Stone.” We are proud to provide this beautiful work of art to our customers who want the ability to grind fresh matcha at home.
    This stone mill is produced using Aji Stone which is well known in Kagawa prefecture, Japan. This stone has been called the “diamond of granite” because of its hardness and durability.
    The matcha catch, handle and bowl are made from smoked bamboo.

    Was kinda hoping this would work for flour because it's construction is beautiful. And it probably would but the feed hole is too small for wheat grains

    It’s a nice idea but not easy to get the leaves here in the U.K. and it’s cheaper to buy the leaf already in powder form. The mill is very expensive too.

      You could grind everything. Tofu was also made via this kind of grinders in ancient times. But I guess this one is designed specifically for matcha grinding.

    Could this be used for wet grinding?
    Is there a spacer to prevent the disks grinding against each other.
    Thanks!

    • @RovingPunster
      @RovingPunster 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, same question from me ... can we also use this as a wet/dry grinder ? what about soymilk from soybeans ? can it grind grains and pulses into flour ?
      The spacing and pattern is critical ... if it can only handle tea, that would greatly limit it's marketability.
      Meanwhile, if it can do any of those, please let me know which, whether or not you ship to the USA, and how much.

    • @MatchaKonomi
      @MatchaKonomi  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for the question!
      This stone mill was hand carved for matcha only. The tea and the powder must be very dry for it to move through the carved groves to be ground into an extremely fine powder. Anything wet would not work. There is no spacer between the stones. These stones we’re designed to grind the tea into a fine powder and push out the joints on the edges. We advise users to place some tencha between the stones before grinding as a buffer when getting started. We hope this helps. 💚
