I would suggest that you first simply try you remote key. If the trunk opens you know the door switch is the problem. Save some time and work.
but the problem wasnt the door switch, it was a open in the ground wire

Solved two issues I had with the trunk. Initially after closing the trunk it would beep several times and then the alarm would start. Then trunk stopped working all together. Two wires were cut and a third was on its last leg. Thanks.

I’m very still confused on my car. I can only open the trunk with remote. I looked to find that cut/broke wire but didn’t have it. The touch pad on the trunk doesn’t work and the button. So My thoughts is the actual button and pad bad?
I own a 2013 CTS 3.6 Cadillac and the trunk won't open using the trunk button, remote, and the cable in the back seat. I can hear a click when using the button and remote. Am I missing any trick opening the trunk? Need help, please. Thank you!
What i believe is happening is the trunk lid actuator is jammed or stuck, because if the mechanical cable didnt work either, it has to be in the mechnaical latch i believe

I have the 2012 cts coupe My wires looks a lot different where you found the black wire not connected what year is your car

My trunk problem is on 2011 CTS coupe when I hit the button on the door panel I hear a buzzing sound and the trunk will not realase, same thing if I try to open from the remote or rear under the deck lid how can you help me diagnosis problem? I would appreciate it thank You
What gauge wires are those wires in the harness? And what gauge blue butt connector did you use? Pretty sure this is my problem for the trunk release button and 3rd brake light, which both just went out
A blue connector is for a specific size. He used a blue connector so YOU use a blue connector, not a red, yellow or green.
Actually judging by the size of the wire in the video, I would say the red colored connector is the correct size to get, although you can get away with the blue if that all you have

worked for me pulling latch. Sprayed latch inside trunk with wd40 and its working again
Help Rodriguez! I have a 2008 Cadillac CTS 3.6L. The battery is completely dead, the manual trunk pop doesn’t work, neither does the key fob or the electronic door button. Is there any other way to pop your trunk if none of these work?

This might be a little late but cant you use the key in the fob to unlock the door, get inside, and then pull the seats down to access the emergency trunk opener
HELP!! Great video. I have a 2003 cadillac seville and I already checked the fuse and swaped the relays and still nothing. I think I shorted something. I had to short #4 and #8 on the OBD2 connector under the steering wheel and I must of done 4 to 6 or 7 and shorted something. The trunk/fuel latch are the only things not working. Any suggestions

This is exactly where I found the broken wire to the trunk light on mine.

I got the Cadillac CTS 4x4 and there is no manual release in the back seat I cannot open my trunk at all or get to the back
you sure? i don't think it being a 4x4 matters regarding the trunk release. You dont see the handle when you lower the back seat?
Rodriguez Repairs the back seats don’t lower just the arm rest and there is nothing there no latch to pull open or way into the back other then taking out the whole back seat I think

A clicking relay is not 100% that the relay is working properly. There are contacts inside the relay that could be issue.

@Douglas Klash if you find a fix please update! I was told from Cadillac dealership it's $145 just to tell me what's wrong. And I don't care if the trunk opens just needs a new battery!! Thanks 😊
@@douglasklash2334 We had to remove the back seats then go through the back. Once we got in there was an issue with the lever..a small piece of plastic preventing the lock from opening. After that the trunk and manual latch worked perfectly
