Many Chickasaw lost the connection to the specific Clan within the Tribe through the transitionary period to modern Tribal Sovereignty. Which came to define the Chickasaw Nation itself as an individual Clan unto it's own. Otherwise, my Clan is also Chickasaw Freedmen, and Tsalagi: Bird. Specifically Turtledove. My prayers for all of the peoples of the Nations of the Five Tribes of the American Southeast. And for my ancestors. And to our Creator that all our people's heritage and culture might continue forever and ever. Chi pisa la cho!
