This is not Chinese made, it was made by L&T... Bronze was imported from china as its one of the best bronze available... Even China imports iron from other countries but uses its own bronze. There is no problem in importing raw materials, problem arises when finished goods are imported. Import of raw materials does not hamper the home economy and industry as value is added to it by us but when finished goods are imported there is nothing the home industry can do and the import country simply becomes a market for the goods to be sold.

This statue is far too large to be appealing artistically. It dwarfs the landscape with its glum expression, and one can’t help but wish it weren’t there. Mount Rushmore in the US is huge, was planned to be even larger, but at least blends into the mountain. A statue of a real person made in present times should not be much larger than an actual man. It is the vision and the works of a man which are great, and the fact that as mere man, he achieve his vision. A life size statue in front of a museum or university would honor him much better than this monstrosity. When one gets close to this work, one encounters a toe, which is more comical than effective. This is a terrible example of a vanity project.
