It's amazing that it is not mainly constructed for the sake of some title/ just to break a record in guineas book of world records, etc. But because it is meaningful for its country
It was intended to be the biggest statue in the world. Unfortunately India lack the expertise to built it itself but seek China's help.
I never knew this existed until today. It is extraordinary. Dwarfs the statue of liberty. All credit to the architects and engineers. A must see if I get the opportunity.
That doesn't say much. Lady Liberty doesn't even notch the top 20 biggest statues/monuments in the world. It's just the most famous.
We only have fake news, only propaganda. I bet you know women are men, and men are women, who can get pregnant.
The statue not being very popular internationally (especially compared to the Statue of Liberty) says something, that it wasn't done for clout or a world record or such but was indeed made as a powerful symbol, which makes it even better!
the statue of liberty is literally so small compared to some statues lol

Its beyond amazing what mankind can do. From pens to airplanes, vibrators to gigantic statues, its astonishing. But why is it so damn difficult to drive correctly?

Also, this man Sardar Patel is known as Iron Man of India, so ig, he can definitely help to defend 😅😂
Joke-wise: They should send your mom instead, since she can certainly handle my Monster Cock. Haha!
you have to see it in real life to appreciate the scale of it.
What amazing symbolism that it used discarded farm machinery and enlisted the help of many countries
This statue is amazing. Up close is the only way to truly gauge the size, especially of cuppa! Truly amazing
Do visit India and witness it. Among the thousands of other ancient sites.
Had an opportunity to visit it recently. Great piece of engineering marvel and execution. India should be really proud of this achievement.
$500 million ... And most of the money went to China and Singapore?? Why?? If India doesn't have the capability to design and make it all in India, why try to make it right now? Looks impressive but why??
I'm a little obsessed with this statue; it's unbelievably huge, but it looks just like the person. He could be waiting for a taxi.
Wow. I have never seen this before. It's definitely not an eye sore. It's a beautiful work of art.
It's beautiful and majestic !
Just had the privilege to visit the amazing Statue of Unity in Gujarat .... courtesy a Training Tour conducted by Govt of Haryana for HCS Officers....Don't miss the Light & Sound Show in the evening 🙏
I'm just now learning of this statue. Incredible. I'd love to see this someday. Not just up close, but from a great distance away too.
Remarkable. I think things like this are worth it for the inspiration they provide to the people and their children. It lets them know humanity can do great things when we work together.
You must be beyond foolish for thinking such things.
That money could have been spent to fight their poverty but no, arrogance and politics are stronger than the alleged good will.
It's a monument to the idiocy.
An insult to the future generations.
@@marikishtarWhile I may not have as much vitriol about it, I can't say that I disagree with you. In the Bible, Jesus remarks that, "the poor will always be with you," not as an excuse to do less for them, but in recognition that there is also value in expending resources in paying tribute. In the West, it used to be that the tallest point in a given town was the church steeple - a testament to what the populace most "looked up to." Now, the tallest statue we - as a planet - have is a statue of "unity" - which I think is a euphemism for the centralizing of power. Which might also be put, as you say, "arrogance and politics."

Well as India is a developing country, in view of that a large sums of amount that was spent on this gigantic statue is a point of discussion. But everyone has to agree on that this is an engineering marvel.

I have found considerable amount of mention of Sardar in my textbooks from my childhood. I don't know what type of History book you are taking about.
I think it a great project and will go and see it. But yes the money could of been spent on helping poverty, however a tourist site like this will help bring in more revenue for the Indian government, India is getting better as time goes on. Thanks for sharing this.
In the last five years, india has taken 45 million people out of poverty. Today, there are less than one percent people below poverty line. 😁😁😁😁India is making its infrastructure beautiful. Because of this india has become best place for foreign investment surpassing USA.😜😜😜😜😜😜

It fascinates me that photos of its original color are documented so that future people can see its former look before it eventually turns into a green statue like the Liberty.
What a magnificent monument to fine man. Was surprised hearing the Statue Of Unity has its comparatively short 100-year life expectancy. Still at a mere $4 million a year to delight & inspire thousands of visitors is a bargain. When a nice patina sets in, it will be even more awesome. Nice India.

The spacing of the bronze outer tiles is also important for expansion and contraction with the temperature.
India has created some of the world's most beautiful statues.............
Very impressive design. The statue's location makes it a destination, must see...this will help locals tremendously!
For those who are saying ,that money should be used for poor , but in india there is already free ration ,subsidy on education and reservation for poor . Made in China for India. There is also staff attachment in China and technology transfer in the contract. Thus It will provide India the expertise to built another bigger statue.

@@jacku8304 You are kidding me right?
They literally hired one of the most prominent skulptor of India. Padmashree winner or something.
You think making a clay model to capture right expressions is an easy task? By your logic making art of mona lisa is just someones face. Have you ever done anything like that in your life? Skulpting is and art form. They scanned the sculpture and then that was sent to china so they can manufacture it. But what would you scan without the sculpture? My foot?
Geology, wind, all of it was considered and designed by Indian engineering.
Like i said you are a cry baby, who just can't appreciate anything India does and wants to bring a racist point of view. The status stands there and is a big achievement. There is nothing you can do to bring it down. apart from crying.
@@2596mr You are really a crown. You simply pluck out information from the net and make up stories and that is a joke. I studied Restoration arts and have knowledge of all aspects of sculpturing. You guys hired a sculptor to make a model based on photographs provided. He didn't sculpt or carve out of his original creation. One of the earlier lesson on sculpturing is to copy the model with various materials. That means copying. Your sculptor, no matter his standing is still copying from a photographs provided. Not original ideal. He just follows the contouring lines faithfully on given materials. If your sculptor carved an image of "Big Foot" he saw and using you small feet as example, then that's original. So now clap with feet instead of your hands.
India only does the paper work on land use approval from various department, landscaping the surrounding area, provide the concrete platform to withstand the weight of statue, etc. Simple basic stuff that is....
China then ship all materials, accompanied by structural engineers, technicians, welders, foreman, etc. Indian will provide laborers. Not forgetting the batch of people that China had provided "Technical transfer "were also there. Seemingly India will attempt to build the next world's biggest statue using the Chinese technology transferred to India on statue constructions. Now go cry an Ocean ! Lol......
