    I love the encouragement you give in this and in your other videos. FM synths seem more technical and daunting but there is no better advice than: "just try it." You can't win if you don't play the game.

    Great sound, love knowing where the synthesis is going before we start. That way I can understand why we make the adjustments we make.

    Really enjoyed this video. Great explanations of how to build sounds and why you add certain elements rather than just, 'this is what you do to get this sound'.
    Algoritm is my new favorite synth in Reason, as I'm sure it is for many people, but can seem daunting. You make it look much more accessible. Thanks for the video.

    This pack is fiya... finally a pack I can sink my teeth into, dissect, and create. Now I need to update my sound system with some 18"s so I can FEEL THE BASS...

    Sorry for your loss, keep ya head up. Thanks for another dope tutorial. In your opinion would this be a great synth If I wanted to get serious with sound design?

      Thank you 🙏🏾 I think you might want to start with Subtractor, although Algoritm is very intuitive if you’re up for the challenge! Manuals are your best friend.

    Hey. love your vids. I’m new to reason and would like to know if there is a way to use midi keyboard knobs to automate 3rd plugin controls. Thanks

    the best VST's for people who want to make smooth sounding soul? Korg triton, and Roland xv5080 VSTs. two Workstation keyboards. So you'll have the nice drum patches and such too. they already "sit" in the mix, like the work station keyboard always did, but now with way more abilities to tinker thanks to Mackie Mixer board built in reason, and the other plethora of things reason offers.

    Are there other synths that can do exactly what Algoritm does, with variable 9 OP/osc/filters/shaper and all its modulation and feedback options? Msoundfactory maybe?

    • @KickbackCouture
      @KickbackCouture  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Algoritm is a one of one. Msoundfactory is a cool free product though. :)

    I’m so glad you are back to educating us schmucks. Also my condolences. Even though you are showing a modular synth I know it can be translated to just about any synth on any daw. I watched the whole thing and I don’t even have that particular synth. I’m going to try it on the ones I do have. Thanks ✌🏻

      Thank you for the condolences! The principals of creating the 808 are vastly the same across devices. Each device offers different tones. 🙂

      Like many people, I too have 808 fatigue, but I actually picked up some valuable tips in this vid. Helped me appreciate how the sound shaping tools and workflow of the synth you choose make all the difference in your sound design, regardless of the sound you are designing. I love Algoritm’s granular but simple control of curves, pitch, etc., and Jelie did a great job demonstrating them. With Algoritm, I can see how FM is a very efficient sound design method requiring fewer gimmicks for the desired sound, and is great for 808s (indispensable for this genre). If I was designing a Reese bass, I would probably reach for a wavetable synth first. But I wouldn’t know that if not for tutorials like this one. Thank you

      I made some sick Reese bass patches too! I understand the 808 thing! Hope to talk soon. 🦾
