Very well explained on soft storey very useful information.
very informative and well explained! thank you very much
Good concept and explanation😊
Well explained 👏
Good job

Easy to understand!
Thank you 😊
@@acecivilengineer6863 Looking forward for more civil engineering videos!
Thank you sir 😍, which software you are using to teach sir?
Thank you, I need to know, when i checked by etabs for soft story check, it showed me that percentage is ok ( i.e >70%) ,so no soft story is as what i can conclude. Does that mean that the situation is ok in earthquick ?as the checked floor is basement floor ( parking lot) and no walls or stiffness materials are used to cover the perimeter area of the parking floor
Soft storey check is performed only to ensure that there is no drastic difference in stiffness between adjacent floor levels, which would lead to heavy concentrated forces at a particular diaphragm. Passing in a soft storey check doesn't mean that the situation is adequate for seismic loads completely.
Shear wall idealisation.
Sir can u explain link beams
Sure...
any difference between soft and weak story?
Yes, there is a small difference. Soft storey is the one which the lateral stiffness is less than 70
percent of that in the storey above or less than 80
percent of the average lateral stiffness of the three
storeys above.
Weak storey is one in which the storey lateral strength is less
than 80 percent of that in the storey above.
