unfortunately in America, most often people dont care how you feel when they ask "how are you", it's more of a communication started, devoid of all sense.
Kirill Limarov Dude, I realize you Russian folk don't know this but everyone in the U.S. understands that "how are you" is just another way of saying "hi" and it is considered acceptable to either go into a detailed answer of how you are really doing or not do that and just say "ok" if you don't feel like going into detailed answer. And it is your ASSUMPTION that the person does not really care how the person is really doing. As we say in the U.S., never make assumptions. 😊👍
That's really interesting.... do Dutch people always mean to know how a person is?! When I lived in London I used to babysit a boy whose father was Dutch and always asked me how I was when he met me. Not being friends I constantly opted for a smile (after all he was being polite! thank you, very much appreciated) and a "phantastic, thank you" even though I had had an awful day or was feeling depressed. After some days he commented that having to do with me was so nice because I was always genuinely happy and never moaning.... he was not a friend.... so I just assumed he didn't care a bit how I was really feeling so... why afflicting him with my problems?! and he just assumed that being carefree was the Italian way,,,, hahaha if he had only known how lonely I was feeling!
I hate it when people ask me how I am, because I have to answer them that I'm fine and sometimes it's not the case so if I say l'm fine it means that I lie to myself and the person I'm talking to and at the same time I don't like saying I'm not fine because I don't like complaining about my life.
+Sapphire Rose Are you just nosey or do you really want to help people when they are not fine? The question is not whether you are interested or not, the question is why you want to know.
+Sapphire Rose You make no sense at all. How somebody feels is rather personal (and none of your business). What are you going to be sensitive about if you do not know what's wrong with the other person?
@Jaap Jacobsen I don't like it when a complete stranger (Dutch of no Dutch) ask me how i am. First of all, they don't really want to know and secondly it is none of their concern, i consider it an invasion of my privacy. Only family and friends can ask me, because the are seriously interested in how i am feeling.
yep, here I am, Italian girl dating a Dutchman! And I agree with everything you just said! (and as for Dutch women.. they're usually so naturally gorgeous, they don't need any makeup! ...how do I get rid of my Italian jealousy? ;) Nice video!!
I’m Canadian but all 4 of my grandparents immigrated from the Netherlands. When it comes to dating I’ve realized I naturally date like the Dutch. Direct, independent, casual, treat me like an equal, tho Ive never actually been to the Netherlands. Its nice to be understood! 👍👌
he was also very straight to the point about what he wanted in the relationship with you a lot it is very nice no sugarcoat or bullshit he was very honest about wanting children and wanting to get married right away and have been a family and I really think this very sexy and very attractive and very committed and very sophisticated and different and I’m really glad I met him and I opened up my mind to dating out of my own culture and I’m very excited to learn the Dutch culture and to even learn Dutch I’m even learning it now before I get there but he’s amazing compared to any man I ever dated in the states
Casually dressed, not ostentatious, no makeup, independent, and naturally beautiful. Wow, did you say the Netherlands or Neverland? Sign me up either way. :)
Im married to a dutch woman, i lived 19 years in germany and i totally agree with alot of things in this video but fashion is very diverse in the Netherlands. In the northern parts of the Netherlands (countryside) id say fashion is not as important and you have to deal with alot of rain and harsh wind as a woman. In the so called 'Randstad' Amsterdam, Rotterdam etc.(south/west). there is def. more fashion going on than in the northern parts. I also agree that dutch women are stronger feminists compared to other country's and men here have a harder time complying to dutch wimmens checklist and needs so they adapted indeed ;) I often say if you don't know how to please the dutch woman your better off getting her from germany as they are more traditional minded and do expect more traditional and different things than dutch women but also they dress more fashionable in the south of germany than they gernerally do in the north. Also due weather conditions. Sorry if i offended anyone but thats my personal opinion and therefore does not mean im right.
Now I get it now. Men in the Netherlands don't pay the bill at the restaurant for the ladies which they find old fashioned. Must go to Netherlands one day to see, plus they speak English very well over there alongside the Dutch language.
I think I can honestly say that Dutch women (especially in Amsterdam) count among the most beautiful in the world. That's almost an objective fact, even if the classic Dutch blonde is not my personal preference.

I don't think "How are u" is fake. It is just a phrase people use to say to greet other people. It can be used conjunction with hello or by itself. Although it is often answered, It is not meant to be literally interpreted & answered. So often the response to it is "good" as opposed to how the individual actually is feeling. That is where it can come off as "fake" for one who doesn't understand how the phrase is meant to be used. It is like "What's up?" which is another phrase people use to greet people with. It is also literally meant to be answered. U girls or those people in Netherlands or whoever just aren't used to using the phrase.
"So often the response to it is "good" as opposed to how the individual actually is feeling." That's exactly what people mean when they say it's fake. You just debunked your own position.
@@elitalks258 No, I didn't. The question and answer are just a type of greeting. It is not meant to be literal. Like I said before, it is like "What's up?" No one is asking u to look up and tell them what is above our heads. "good" has nothing to do with being fake. It is like say "hi" back to the person asking the question without ignoring the person's question. It is used as a way to greet the other person as opposed to explaining how u are feeling. It is not fake. It is just how people greet one another. If u think that is fake, then u keep believing ur beliefs rather than trying to understand another person's culture.
@@AL.BUNDY. Yeah, again, that's what we mean by it being fake. You don't genuinely want to know how I'm doing, you do it out of social convention. It's one of those things with no actual logical justification, we just do it.
@@elitalks258 So u never used the phrase "sup?" to greet someone? U never had someone answer ur "hows it going" with a doom and gloom answer and thought to urself this person is socially inept cuz the full despair answer was unnecessary? I saw ur from Canada. U should know better unless ur an argumentative person trying to intentionally pick fights with people on youtube or u are unaware of social norms in North America. Regardless, it is clear u and I have different definitions of fake and different opinions on how to greet someone. So be it. At this point, I don't really care.
I think the Scandinavian countries like Norway,Finland,Denmark,Iceland and Sweden guys are the most attractive European guys I ever saw. you should do one from one of these countries.
Loepsie isn't correct on all points. My response. 1. Men here always DO pay on the first date. When you're dating/starting a relationship you start to split the bill. 2. True. Women in The Netherlands are very casual and don't dress up much. Look at Loepsie for example, that's what women wear when they go out. 3. True. I'm heterosexual, but as a guy I have to say Dutch men are good looking. It always occurs to me when I've been on vacation and come back in The Netherlands. Dutch men are tall and most are good looking and very groomed. 4. True. We don't have a macho-culture here so most men won't walk up to you and try to seduce you like in meditteranean countries. 5. True. People are blunt/honest here. 6. Not true . We don't talk about politics or exes on a date. That's considered bad manners.
I've talked about politics on a first date and I would about my exes too if it were relevant and would make sense to the context. Was a great date and we saw each other for second date. I've only ever had a guy pay for me on a date once and it was incredibly awkward. I tried to refuse three times and he kept insisting and I just felt pushed aside and in the end I didn't see him again in a date setting.
Not exes for sure, but otherwise, I want to know if it even is possible to continue dating this person long term. I don't want to find out that our ideologies comepletly clash after I've fallen for a guy. I want to know upfront what kind of a person they are. So for me, hobbies and interests are a starting point, but politics will come up. If not on the first, definately on the second date. I would not be able to have a relationship with a person who is on the opposite of the political spectrum to me. Our values would clash too much.
It could have been just Canada but the culture is similar to US so to make it easier I said North America. Obviously the culture is very different in Mexico which is why it made little sense to include it
Mexico's culture is fairly different than its Northern neighbor. Although I relate more to Mexican culture on some things because I live in Southern California (where there is a great population of Mexicans and Hispanics/Latin Americans :D ).
aallhh A Actually the north of Mexico and the south of the US are culturally more alike than the north and south of Mexico or the south of the US and Canada
I'm Dominican so I have very Latin/Carribean culture and my boyfriend is from The Netherlands. It's really weird for me how different it is to date someone from there compared to from a Latino culture or community. Latin men can be very in your face and abrasive where I have never had that experience with a Dutch man. He was the first to say "I love you" and this, but I was the one to first "make a move". I love being with him because he is so genuinely sweet and thoughtful, but he's not always acting with machismo as if I cannot do anything for myself. This video was so accurate, I loved it! Xoxo
What s Dominican? In Nederland hoor je soms aanduidingen uit het stenen tijdperk zoals creolen en javanen. Santenkraam. Wie dat aanstuurt is me een volslagen raadsel. Anyway back to the program..
In America saying Hello how are you doing? It translates into what you want it to be, meaning it leaves the greeting open. So If I say hello how are you doing and you start telling me how you feel then I am down with that, or you can say I’m doing fine and leave it as that. Don’t complicate things and another thing it’s not a fake smile, most do want to smile and be nice to you so what’s the problem. I think Americans are so misunderstood by other foreign countries and I am sure it goes both ways.
Ok dutch men may be fashionable in the west of the Netherlands, but in small towns it's just simply jeans, sneakers and a shirt. If they go fancier or a bit bigger of a city then they upgrade to shirt (blouse thingy) jeans or chino and brown fancy shoes (sometimes black). Older men in small cities tend to wear jeans or red, yellow or brown pants. More international cities such as The Hague, Amsterdam, Roterdam, Leiden, there you will find men who are more fashion conscious.
I am an American woman (non-white) and Dutch men are gorgeous!! Super tall, built well, and those faces! OH MY GOD! Sooooo cute!! And the way they dress, cherry on top!! American men don't know how to dress and overall look or act sloppy. Definitely prefer foreign men over American any day.
Then "how are you" greeting was very confusing to me too, when we first came to Australia 20 years ago... Australians says "how are you" as greeting rather than deep talk... it was so embarrassed when I didn't know that & told the people how I really was, when they were already planning to walk away from me... no one told me about that... I just figured it out by myself 😒
Uh oh. Looks like Marina has competition in the cuteness department (not sexiness or attractiveness per se, cuteness). Lucy seems relaxed, down to Earth and has the most charming smile and her voice and accent is so easy to listen to.
ok...so I've learned a lot about various different cultures from this channel. Allow me to teach you something in return and to show my gratitude. In France, its expected to say "Bonjour".....far more and in any more situations than a person would greet someone in any fashion in the US. Its a cultural thing...not a thing wrong with that. Bonjour is NOT in this context meant strictly as saying "Hello"....its a cultural norm. its simply what is done as part of social interaction. In North America when people say "How are you"...they aren't asking how you are doing....instead this style of phrase in this context holds the same function as "Bonjour" does in France. You can't simply translate the words directly and fully understand its position in the language and culture. Its an acknowledgement that you are now interacting with a person and precipitation to a conversation. Ok...I think i've explained it as best I can. If you are simply translating the words/question into your own language and you are interpreting it the same way that those words or question would be used in your own native tongue then you're getting it wrong. Its simply a part of our culture and its unfair to critique it as it would mean in your language and in your culture. If you are going to critique it as such.....then there is a long laundry list of words, phrases in literally every other language that can be critiqued in exactly the same manner.....due to direct translation and then assuming it would hold exactly the same function as it does in the new language.
I'm a Canadian living in England and it confused me for so long when people would say "All right?", and then I realized it's used as a greeting and they're not actually asking how I'm doing. :P
What I gather from the "dressing up" topic here is that in the Netherlands men and women put in an equal amount of effort to look OK nice (casual can still be very fashionable and well-dressed mind you) whereas in North America guys don't really care and girls just give their look everything they got? (Exaggeration used to get across my point 😉)
The best way to debunk this American politeness is to actually keep them busy paraphrasing until it becomes annoying, for them of course. I kept a waiter busy by asking how he felt about that particular experience... There's also a big difference between US/CAN and UK/IE between responding to 'How are you?' While overseas you say 'I'm fine' the Brits/Irish say 'I'm not too bad'. This makes it exceptionally funny answering like that to people who are not familiar with the difference. Neverthless, it's fun to be bold about it...
Love it. I'm of Dutch heritage but was born and raised in the U.S. Now it makes sense! I don't like getting all dressed up unless it's a special occasion and when I ask someone "how are you" I actually want to know. It's my Dutch/European showing! When I'm overseas, I've been told I confuse people because I'm American, but I'm genuine and open and not angry all the time. Now, before everyone jumps on the "foreigners hate Americans" thing, please remember what others see in the media. If all anyone sees are reality stars with a ton of make up and politicians literally yelling at each other on news broadcasts, of course that's going to be their opinion. I'm hugely proud that when I travel, I can show others Americans can be wonderful, loving, open-hearted people too, we just get bad press sometimes. Americans should also keep that in mind too, please stop with the wooden shoe and tulip jokes! Lol! Moral of the story: get out there and make friends across the world, with technology, you don't even have to travel. We have more in common with each other in this world than we think! :)
Elizabeth Tuttle If you were born and raised in the U.S. It is NOT your Dutch ancestry "showing" in terms of your poor lazy dressing habits-- it is your 21st century dumbed down AMERICAN women reality. And no it is not normal, and not good. If you want to know what is normal in terms of proper attire go look at photos and movies of people from 30 years ago and going back in time decade by decade. People used to have manners, couth, class, dignity and self respect - and respect for others in the way they dressed and groomed.
Apparently I was meant to be Dutch..bc my casual game is pretty much on point..all the time. And I RARELY wear make up. Like today was the first time I put on makeup since December...2016. lol
How Can be living in the Year 2017 in the U.S.A., in the 3rd Phase of Feminism and Women (Many of Them Claiming to be Feminists) still expect the guy to pay for the Date!!??
It's true I was in love with Dutch woman wow!!!! Dutch women are so kind though we separated duo to her family issue but she was so good to me I hope I find another one near future.
It's exactly why I as an American guy really like and prefer Dutch women over North American women...they are more down to earth and don't expect the guy to pay for everything.
I really appreciate your videos and the hilarious way you set them on,i think you guys have really come out with a such original idea!!Btw wich videos are you workin on?I am curious lol
Thanks Leonardo! We try really hard to make quality videos on no budget so I'm glad it shows. Right now we're editing European videos so two videos about Denmark are coming up next, then Italian and German men :)
Great video again Marina, now that you've been travelling around Europe. Could you make a video about the main differences you've seen on the way guys talk to girls in different countries? It''s so funny to hear from this Dutch girl talking about Dutch guys being shy, I live in Spain and it's completely the oposite here. Keep the good work!
Thank you so much! I'm already back unfortunately so can't shoot any more videos. I will try to go back and do more on Europe and Spain is definitely a place I want to film soon!
+andrew Whatever you do, avoid the one from the Amsterdam Shallow Man. He suggests that they'll offer you sex once you tell them you like 'Holland' (the Netherlands) and that offering her a cigarette is a one way ticket to her silk purse.
+andrew > be tall > be funny > have a job > say you like to travel > don't have out of the ordinary opinions on sensitive issues like religion or politics
the crime rate would go down when low income guys are not called as simps, betas, basement guys and other disgusting stuff. We are content with our video games and occasional flings. Live and let live. Some men and women drag it too far when they should have nothing to do with other's income.
In North America I wish women offered to pay at least for a coffee on the 3rd date after the man has spent 150 dollars for dinner but only few actually do it sincerely. In west Europe women tend to be more fair with men and , in the long run, they earn lots of respect.
Whenever I go to the Netherlands, Dutch boys approach me, and they pay for me.... I wonder if it’s because they know I’m American, and they know in America the man pays?
I’m from North America and I’m currently engaged to a Dutch man in Amsterdam and I’m finding it quite pleasant compared to dating men here in my own country and we’re currently trying to get me to see him and live with him in the Netherlands and they are way more direct and more committed and way more honest in I definitely feel like I got a lot more out of this man than I would ever get a hell of a guy from North America just from the first day honestly virtual date I guess you can sayWe’re hoping to get me there by Christmas
Thank you so much for all the advice ladies it was enlightening and I definitely will take all of this advice with me when I get to the Netherlands thank you 😇🙏
Dating Beyond Borders - I like both because you present to us the points of view from others in different countries. now, when I travel in the future, I don't feel like such an outsider lol
You don’t understand the Americans smiling because you’re not a warrior. Trust me. You want us to smile. The fact that foreigners think it’s fake just shows who’s not fighting for anything.
Ugh maybe I should move to Netherlands. I’m too blunt for canada 😶 they always get shocked when i state the obvious 🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️ I was considered SHY in my own country 😅😅😅
The next time when you're in the Netherlands, you should hit me up I've been fortunate to travel a lot during my studies and I've dated woman from different places in the world. So I have a lot of funny situations and stories to tell about my Dutch culture when dating/relationships and their respective culture. Would be valuable for your channel i think.
Can you do some dating an American man/woman videos, please? You’d probably have to split it by region seeing as how the south, Midwest, North East , west coast and everywhere in between all have different mentalities and cultures. Thanks! On another note, I noticed that nearly all the women in the Netherlands are naturally beautiful and so they don’t need much makeup to look good. Seriously, does acne even exist there? I could probably count all the blemishes I saw there on one hand.
Patrick EH Oh but we don't split the bill in half, everybody pays exactly for what they ordered! If you order a more expensive dish, prepare to pay more, haha! ☺
Exactly like that. I'm from the Netherlands and actually a girl had never had a problem with me paying for example. Deep down they still want to be treated as women.
Yep throughout history the Dutch women tend to be strong willed, and can handle themselves kinda women who speak their minds. If ya wanna call that feminists so be it. And Dutch men adapted I guess (cause otherwise they aren't getting any LOL). But that doesn't make the guys 'female'. It makes them modern and strong enough to handle a strong woman. They are no non-sense kinda men. Here's to Dutch men!! :-)
In my experience, dutch guys are not touchy, affectionate or like physical touch. Is that just me or is it a dutch thing?? Here in America, if a guy is interested in you, he wants to touch you and doesn't care who is around...
I don't think I know many people dating in the US that expect the man to always pay the first date. Might be different in certain regions of the country though and also age group. At least, almost everyone I know on the west coast divides the bill these days.
Nah I’ve been told by woman here in the US that if you don’t pay they look down upon that. But if you insist they see you as controlling. It’s disgusting here in the US unless you are traditional/right-winged Left-winged woman are manipulative and toxic typically, and they like gender roles when it helps them. Right-winged woman here expect a lot, but they make it obvious. Left-winged woman in the Netherlands are blunt, and make it obvious.
For example Canadian's they dress very bad. They don't take care of their appearance comparing to Dutch guys, but Canadian's are super nice and polite.
I think the whole How are you ... is very different in Europe n in North America. I dated an Ukarnian Georgian guy in Toronto and when he asked How I am. I replied with I am good. How are you? He actually went into detail abt how he was... and then said... ok, now you.. How are you? And wanted to know how I truly was. This was a simply but very heart filling thing.
I stopped trying to date because there are a bunch of women that are just easily offended by everything here in Montreal at least. I only look for european, scandinavian or slavic.
**sigh** is it hopeless then to expect that a Dutch man would make the first move? I've known him for 3+ years and there's flirting but not really anything substantial. He's dated before and personally I am really shy, but after watching this video I worry that I'm wishing for the impossible if Dutch men don't usually initiate things.
My advice -- make the first move. You have to be quite direct with Dutch guys. Remember, there is a strong sense of equality between the sexes so he may not feel comfortable initiating something. If it helps, I made a video on dating a Dutch man :)
Dating Beyond Borders Thank you for replying! I really appreciate it :) I've thought about doing just that, but I have this old romantic sensibility, that if a man is interested in something/somebody he will go for it guns a'blazing. I could make the first move but a part of me will always feel like I wanted it more...plus my culture is different in this regard and the men are predominantly the ones to make their intentions clear. I don't know what to think because we used to flirt and tease each other, but he wouldn't go out of his way to be like, 'let's hang out.' Still he's incredibly quick to respond to messages or invitations from my side. He is very kind and considerate to my family as well, but we've never been more than casual acquaintances/friends. I'm Americanized and he's grown up here even though he was born and raised in The Netherlands, his family being Dutch too. With this (embarrassingly) said, is it so weird and hopeless to expect that someday he will make the first move?
+judy10001 There might be a way to make a move without being obvious.. like inviting him somewhere and showing you are interested. If you can sense he is interested but slow to act, it might be fhe best option instead of wondering 'what if' for 3 more years. Check out Matthew Hussey. He does dating advice and is my favorite!
As a Dutch born, American raised I realize just how Americanized I am. I love femininity, vintage, and I personally feel at my strongest as a housewife. (That’s just me, I love go getting female empowerment( I love feminine energy as a whole, while I do prefer the Dutch men’s look, I definitely need a man that still has some of that “hunter/gatherer” instinct.
@@jefrreyjeffery2192 which is perfectly alright! I think in both the states and Canada, we can kinda choose our own ways, as long as you don’t disrespect someone else’s decisions
The 'gender neutral"approach in the netherlands when it comes to dating and relationships, I believe, is not really working all that well for keeping attraction for eachother. At least not for the typical biologically gender stereotype couple. This is because the average women and men ARE biologically (hormonal) different, and by acting gender neutral as our current society tells us to, is often different than our biologically inside. It's actually the differences that often make people feel attracted to eachother, and by somewhat having a culture where a man has to act less manl than he actaully is, and a woman less feminine, they are not stimulated to be their true biological self and will not attract people that biologically fit with eachother. I do not mean everyone should act act 'old fashioned' gender stereotyped , because if you're a manly woman or a feminine man this old fasshioned style will not work for you, because it's against your biological nature, but for the majority of people an approach where one is clearly the male and the other clearly the famale will fit their inner biologically better than the 'gender neutral' approach. The tv and media brainwashes people that for women women having more masculine traits is good ("be strong, be confident, know what you want, take control of the situation, do not let someone selse dominate you" etc) and every typically feminine trait "Be soft, be sweet, be humble, be a caretaker" is less valued. Basically feminism is actually anti-feminity, because it promotes the idea that every biologically feminine trait that was once valued, is not much worth these days. It is portreyed as inferior to the more masculine traits, while inside alot of women ARE still more feminine inside (biologically/on a hormonal level) Why would something like 50 shades of grey be so popular , especially among women? Because alot secretly still crave a more submissive role, yet society looks upon that role a an inferior one, while it's not really either one. Women are generally attracted to men they can look up to, while men are not attracted (at least not most men) to women they look up to. Men like 'being the man' , and generally like 'sweet' girls", because it's simply what estrogen does, and strength is more a testosterone thing. **WHen i speak about biologically, I mean hormones and their influences on our bodies. Inject aynone with testosterone and they will feel more confident, and inject anyone with lots of estrogen and they will act and feel more typically feminine. So basic rule: Act the way as your inner biologal self is telling you and ignore whatever other people or the society expects of you. If you find something attractive, go for it, and be your true self and only then you can find a partner that truly matches you.

unfortunately in America, most often people dont care how you feel when they ask "how are you", it's more of a communication started, devoid of all sense.
Its more of "Greeting", in some cultures asking if someone had lunch is a conversation starter or a greeting. Its just different.
Kirill Limarov When someone asks me that I just reply with "hello," "hi," "good morning," "good afternoon," etc . . .
It's pretty much the same in the Netherlands though. It's just about being polite and showing some interest even though we don't care much either.

Then you are telling the truth and punishing the other for asking.

(and as for Dutch women.. they're usually so naturally gorgeous, they don't need any makeup! ...how do I get rid of my Italian jealousy? ;)
Nice video!!
hahaha Thanks, Anita!
I really like the appearance of dutch mans! They are attractive;))
100% percent agreed!
Is Hollywood propaganda embedded with racism
At which age you get married
@Robin R. Gable Hahahaha! AGAIN?? This is sooo funny!
Now I get it now. Men in the Netherlands don't pay the bill at the restaurant for the ladies which they find old fashioned. Must go to Netherlands one day to see, plus they speak English very well over there alongside the Dutch language.
It's a cool country. Go for sure!
Dating Beyond Borders Indeed, I will!
I think I can honestly say that Dutch women (especially in Amsterdam) count among the most beautiful in the world. That's almost an objective fact, even if the classic Dutch blonde is not my personal preference.
That part I can agree with you on.

as soon as she said the women actually offer to pay, i was like "Yup, im moving to the Netherlands"
lmfao
Fascinating stuff. I'm not a dater but I think the insight into culture is terrific. As to paying the bill, in Holland or Canada, it's on me.
The world is different in many places.
Then why do you call yourself jungkook's wife if you find Scandinavian men so attractive? Maybe you should change your "name", haha.
Iam dutch mixed with Asean but in DNA 30% Scandinavian hahaha we dutchies are Scandinavian too
well even ibn fadlan, an arab travelers from 900's AD agreed with that when he meet viking man for the first time.
no way. they look like metrosexual aliens
Interesting comment once more. Thanks for sharing!
When a woman wears casual in the Netherlands they already look extremely hot. What do you want more. Jheesh!
Joe Blow ???
"The US and Canada, northamerica" I guess Mexico is not wanted in the club :(
It could have been just Canada but the culture is similar to US so to make it easier I said North America.
Edgar Morales Ortega cultural differences.
aallhh A Actually the north of Mexico and the south of the US are culturally more alike than the north and south of Mexico or the south of the US and Canada
Nuria Geijsel not accurate
Mark Camacho yes, I agree completely.
100%
Ok dutch men may be fashionable in the west of the Netherlands, but in small towns it's just simply jeans, sneakers and a shirt. If they go fancier or a bit bigger of a city then they upgrade to shirt (blouse thingy) jeans or chino and brown fancy shoes (sometimes black). Older men in small cities tend to wear jeans or red, yellow or brown pants. More international cities such as The Hague, Amsterdam, Roterdam, Leiden, there you will find men who are more fashion conscious.
@Rabarbersoep crazy how this is still true 3years later haha
@Rabarbersoep ik ben Nederlands dus kan het echt bevestigen haha
I am an American woman (non-white) and Dutch men are gorgeous!! Super tall, built well, and those faces! OH MY GOD! Sooooo cute!! And the way they dress, cherry on top!! American men don't know how to dress and overall look or act sloppy. Definitely prefer foreign men over American any day.
Loved the vid ladies. I agree with the things you mentioned. I'm having a problem being direct in Canada. Its not very common at all.
I just figured it out by myself 😒
haha yep - same as USA and Canada :)
How are you gigi? i really want to know!
@@DatingBeyondBordersWell it's the Anglosphere!
Uh oh. Looks like Marina has competition in the cuteness department (not sexiness or attractiveness per se, cuteness). Lucy seems relaxed, down to Earth and has the most charming smile and her voice and accent is so easy to listen to.
On my visit to Amsterdam I had impression that the Dutch are the most genuine people in the Western world. Their girls are flirty too.
ok...so I've learned a lot about various different cultures from this channel.
Shawna S sorry. eh!
The weird thing is when you're asked HOW ARE YOU and you reply NOT SO GOOD they don't know what to say.
SLOWLY OFFERING LOL!!!! YES hehehe
haha makes two us ;)

Hello 👋
Hence the phase, " going Dutch"
- Svoboda rekening delen tussen twee personen
@Bob Loblaw How is it perjorative if it is entirely true?
Very interesting, Elizabeth. Thanks for sharing!

If you were born and raised in the U.S. It is NOT your Dutch ancestry "showing" in terms of your poor lazy
dressing habits-- it is your 21st century dumbed down AMERICAN women reality. And no it is not normal, and
not good. If you want to know what is normal in terms of proper attire go look at photos and movies of people
from 30 years ago and going back in time decade by decade. People used to have manners, couth, class, dignity
and self respect - and respect for others in the way they dressed and groomed.
Apparently I was meant to be Dutch..bc my casual game is pretty much on point..all the time. And I RARELY wear make up. Like today was the first time I put on makeup since December...2016. lol
Dont be fooled, dutch girls do wear makeup, but its very verrry minimal, like the no makeup, Makeup look.

Ooo cool!!I hope you will do as many as possible cause they are very nice!Good luck!
Is there ever going to be a video on dating a Dutch woman?

Whatever you do, avoid the one from the Amsterdam Shallow Man. He suggests that they'll offer you sex once you tell them you like 'Holland' (the Netherlands) and that offering her a cigarette is a one way ticket to her silk purse.

the crime rate would go down when low income guys are not called as simps, betas, basement guys and other disgusting stuff.

Although i am not European I completely agree in so many things with you girls 💕
I feel so bad every time that I heared someone talk about people who don´t care. I always think : where is the humanity of our society? Oh god!
Omg Loepsie, I love her💖

Hello, I will try to share the videos with my friends so I can get more of the scene

I think if I lived in the Netherlands, I would have had better luck with dating than I do here in the US.
I'm Dutch and I love it :)

The video was so amazing! Could you make video about Argentinian men or Polish men?
Thank you! You mean a vlog style video or the You know you are dating series?
Dating Beyond Borders A you know your dating but either one would be amazing!
Hello 👋
In the US we call it "going Dutch" if each person pays 1/2 the bill... ;)
Yep - there is a reason for it ;)
Patrick EH Oh but we don't split the bill in half, everybody pays exactly for what they ordered! If you order a more expensive dish, prepare to pay more, haha! ☺
*****
That's what I meant. Each gets his own bill. It has been called that in the US for at least 75 years
Love your video !❤
Hello 👋
If you are in a relationship people here would get a shared bankaccount to pay for stuff. High heels on a bike or the cobbled streets doesn't work.
I never wear make up I find myself more beautiful without than with I only wear lipstick often.
Interesting.. Dutch women have male characteristics while their men have female characteristics....
Exactly like that. I'm from the Netherlands and actually a girl had never had a problem with me paying for example. Deep down they still want to be treated as women.
Nigling, they definitely do. But there are at least a few men like I who are resisting.
thank god im not from europe man
Yep throughout history the Dutch women tend to be strong willed, and can handle themselves kinda women who speak their minds. :-)
where'd nordic come from? the dutch are a germanic country
It’s disgusting here in the US unless you are traditional/right-winged
Left-winged woman are manipulative and toxic typically, and they like gender roles when it helps them.
Right-winged woman here expect a lot, but they make it obvious.
Left-winged woman in the Netherlands are blunt, and make it obvious.
The girl didn't offer lol. But we are in Canada now. Yes maybe she doesn't wear makeup.

As an Israeli, I *definitely* prefer the Dutch way!!
I like women who are natural in appearance, less makeup the better.
Hayley from Modern Family is Dutch? She's good at hiding the accent.

But the most important thing is that: You won’t have a date with a dutch girl unless you are a dutch boy.
@@delargealex yes, I mean it. North Europeans. For the rest, we have only the fat, or the big or the uglies.
Dating Beyond Borders I will definitely think more about it and see what happens :) Thank you so much for the help!!

It is portreyed as inferior to the more masculine traits, while inside alot of women ARE still more feminine inside (biologically/on a hormonal level)
Why would something like 50 shades of grey be so popular , especially among women?
Oh now i watched the whole video and they pretty much say the same thing as me lol
