There are only two option one is to program a factory new upal blank rom into 24q64 8mb or 25q128 16mb some soic 8 or 16 Some has atmel 8bit epromsome dont. The other way is trough telnet via command where you delete the user accounts and also the folder where some settings are stored then after new start the unit will reboots few times and recreate the default user groups with default policies and passwords. In almost all cases these cheap branded doves contain backcounters so the rom file self damage or self erase after warranty period. It is wise always when you buy a new unit to desolder the roms and atmel s and do a backup for two reason for saving the unit life and for returning to forking state after dos attacks

You have to strip the unit and you will see the code on the motherboard and by that code you need to find the rom file usually is 16mb there are two ic one is 25q128 and other is 24c08 this second one has 1kb rom you don’t change it this contain important data like MAC address and unit id. You can look for upal blank image but you need knowledge of rom editing in hex either with winhex or other program. I always backup all the roms if I buy a new dvr.
