Yeah it felt bad when I realized that I could have probably gotten that Sleeper Must Awaken point at the end but blew it. Luckily I didn't end up needing it!
Just wanted to point out, you can see the Imperium Row before you choose your leader by clicking the banner in the top right. It can really influence which leader you choose.
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it! It was a lot of fun to play and put together. The recaps took a lot of work but I wanted to do something a bit special with this series. It felt nice to make good use of Conspire for a change!
GG ! that was a nice run ! just for the record on that turn 8 : i'd have play firm grip on mentat to trigger bene influence (you'd have 2 points) then go to a spice space, after winning the conflict you'd have had the 2 spice to use demand respect to lvl 2 influence on bene and take the alliance, +1 vp and intrigue card, it didnt matter in the end but it would have been better for my heart since I was rooting for you :D anyways great game !
That would have been a cool and potentially great way to go. I think there's a bit of uncertainty either way - like if I'd done that, someone else might have taken Research Station and I might not've been able to get a Spice Must Flow for example.
You didn’t have to go heighliner there. You had the voice, could’ve just blocked Elena either on the spice or heilighner itself one turn later. You had enough troups without it for the combat I would also stop putting troops as first player on those combats. I guess it’s like the 3rd game I see in a row where you don’t get any rewards for it. Too risky
You're right, I didn't necessarily have to hit the Heighliner there. I was considering different options, but I was running out of time and ultimately just didn't think it was worth the risk. As for putting in troops, there are different ways to look at it. It could be that I'm taking too big a risk sometimes and I'll think about your suggestion. On the other hand, I often look at it as making the rewards more expensive for the other players as it forces them to put in more troops than me if they want to win it.
I've just noticed something really weird for it was in contradiction with deployment rules as it is knowed by all experimented Dune Imperium players (and even by newcommers for it is really simple) : to deploy some troops into the conflict zone, you must send and agent on a board space with the crossed swods symbol. That is for the move. Now for the deployement in itself : it is ALWAYS you may deploy any number of troops you have just recruited that turn (from board space and/or agent icon) PLUS two (from your garrison) . I.E. going to Carthag means you are able to deploy three troops (two from garrison, one from that board space). An obvious rule which was made to stay away from any argument about it. Now, just look at that Baron player move (53':00). He send an agent to Carthag then deployed in conflict... 4 troops !?! Where did that fourth troop came from ?? Based on that move, the A.I. displayed 'masterstroke' and you were commenting "that's a bug, it shouldn' have to trigger 'masterstroke', I'm confused". You were indeed for the important thing here was the impossible deployment : 4 troops in conflict on one move makes pressure to another players more important (saying if you want to beat me, you must overcome with 5 troops - instead of 4 if that deployment would have respect the rule). Bug or cheat ? Quite difficult to come to a decision on that issue but some rumours about possible cheat programs with that game are discussed on steam forum. For my part, I was not paying so much attention about it. Spectating this has made my opinion a bite more suspicious to say the least...
Hi, you have a good eye. It's not a cheat, it's just a weird side-effect of the War Chest rule in this Event. At the end of Round 5, The Baron and I had the most Solari, so we each got a troop added to our Garrisons. According the game code, this apparently counts as being added during your first turn the next round, so you're able to deploy it to the Conflict if you visit a Combat space. If you look at Round 8 (1:16:55), you can see that when I go to Research Station, I'm able to deploy 3 troops to the Conflict - which is because I had the most Solari at the end of Round 7 and got a troop added to my Garrison at the start of Round 8. It's pretty weird, and honestly I didn't even realize this was happening while I was playing. I only found out about it reading someone's comment on the Steam Discussion page that it worked like that.
As for the Masterstroke confusion, it's because the game has a bug where it displays the word "Masterstroke" when the Baron triggers his Signet Ring instead of "Scheme" which is what the Signet Ring ability is called.
Hi Bludgeon! Im Owner of the boardgame and interessted in buying the PC Version. May you can answer me one question. Did you know if it is possible to start an online game together with a friend? So that I can play with my friend, but against him and 2 others? 🙂
Hi! I haven't tested it myself to see if it works, but when you set up a game you can choose for each player if you want it to be AI, Open, or Friend. You will both have to own the game to play together.
Man.... what a barn burner. I thought when you were one spice short, it was going to cost you, but you pulled through. What an epic series :)

Thanks, yeah I do check it sometimes. In this case I was picking Memnon no matter what if he was available given how things had been going.
Congrats, Sir.
Fedaykindeathcommando here. Nice runs, follow you with pleasure
Thanks, congrats on doing so well yourself!
Good run! That was a lot of fun to watch. Good use of conspire. I always want to see you take that, and you finally did!

Congratulations on first place. That was a pretty sweet run with Memnon.
Hi! Yeah Memnon served me very well.
ggs, grats on the shared win, great accomplishment.
Thanks very much! I was on a bit of a high for a few days afterward haha.

bet we see more of the winstreak shirt in the future.... mayb not wash it to keep the smell of victory percolating within ;)
But I like that shirt and I also want to be able to wear it in public!
can you make a strategys guide, tips for new players?
Working on it!
