    I am in the North Atlantic Ocean and it took my village to get this uploaded. But it was worth all the effort. This is such a good tool to help keep track of all your quilts. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

    I guess I'm "old school" because I use my digital camera to take pics of what I've made, especially if they go out the door as a gift or donation! I download the SD card to the desktop and send them to Walmart. I have two photo albums full; to see more things before that, you have to go back to the family pics! This allows me to go back and look and remember. I've also put notes next to them as to who they went to. The year is on the bottom corner of the picture already! I get 4 x 6 matte. When I have half a dozen or so, I send them in. ☺I currently have about 30 lap/baby/child quilts to donate. I usually drape them on the back of the couch and take front and back or turn over a corner to show the back. The albums have everything that I've made, including house dresses for me! From coasters to quilts, they are all in there!☺A nice thing for my son to have...eventually!☺

    She's talented, sharp & driven to create, be an originator & a mover. I design patterns almost daily, never have found anyone who would want one. Most anyone who has seen these quilts, blocks, drawing express interest or a wow. I don't label anything, quilts, rughooking (always original design),), knitting (same), weaving, I don't know anyone who cares I made anything. Those who do I consider brave . I've been doing these things since 70 yrs, except hooking ( '99). Learned to sew, knit, weave at 9yrs. 79 yrs on 2 July 24. I still have the 1st quilt. Sunbonnet Sue, hand applique, tied, 2 flannel sheets, backed with muslin. Sue's are connton, flannel, Terry cloth, whatever "Nana", had in the " cloth drawer". I'm glad no fur, she always had these to put on coats to dress them up. She & Mom were amazing creative women. I always had access to learning a creative process. 70 yrs of " never time to be bored"!!! Thanks, Karen again for your added 'interesting" to our lives.

    I can totally relate to adjusting a pattern instead of just following the pattern and trusting the process. I have redone many of the patterns I use. Since most of what I make is donated to Quilts of Valor, and their size requirement is 60"×80", that means adapting the pattern to that size. Sometimes that's easy, sometimes it's a bit of a brain exercise. I love the idea of her app. I've been trying to keep track in photos, but the pictures get buried in all the pictures of everything else. I can't wait to check out the app. It sounds like a quilting specific app like Facebook. What a fun idea. So many things to explore from this interview.

    Enjoying listening to “my friends” who I have never met. I told my teacher friends I was cruising with my “quilt friends from Washington” oh the concerned looks 🤣😂🤣. Google teacher salaries in Washington State…News 13 had a story, Washington has one of the highest AVERAGE salary for teachers, as a teacher, still not enough 🤷‍♀️. How many other professions use their family budget to support their career? Additionally, average salary can be misleading depending on the average length of service. In Michigan our contracts including salary scale are posted on the district website. Salary is determined by degree (bachelors, masters, ed specialist, additional credits) and length of service and vary by district.

    Thanks! I cleaned out my machine while listening, knowing I’ll be downloading and sharing this app with my quilty friends!
    I wonder if there’s a way to share the info with a group of friends only and not the whole public. Also, once your pictures are public, there’s the risk of having images stolen. I’d rather stay private or close circle of quilters only.

    I enjoy your interviews, but your titles confuse me ... They don't seem to match the actual content. I almost skipped this one because I wasn't particularly interested in "memory quilts." A better title might have been " Documenting your quilts. "

      @RaggityAnn 23 วันที่ผ่านมา

      But then, “documenting your quilts” might indicate how to label your quilts. I’m aware of “Memory Quilts” as recording special personal information for weddings, birthdays, etc. And then “Quilting Memories” means to me a record of patterns, fabrics, where the quilt was given or is being used.
