    I have this amazing lens on my X-H2. I think it's a 'must-have' lens! This may become Fujifilm's most sought after prime lens.
    'Real' close focus distance is 1.2cm from front of lens.
    Sometimes it hunts focus but I really do not care. It is SUCH a joy to use, so very versatile and compact.
    Price-point? Worth every penny especially if you trade in the 32mm f2. I actually traded my 10-24mm since that lens sat unused on the shelf.

    Thanks for this good introduction, I especially liked that you mention the other lenses in the lineup to give an overview. I already have the 27mm which came in a kit with the x-e4 body. I use my camera in my work for industrial purposes and need sometimes a close focal range. I think this will be the lens I am going to get.

    It would have been helpful to discuss using this lens on older cameras (i.e. X-T3) that don't have IBIS.

    I'm curious about focus breathing? I do wish the aperture was just a little wider. I like to shoot close to the ground and need the blur to separate. Still a tempting lens. 😊

    Just throwing it out there, but 35mm F2 with a tiny extension tube in your bag? - extra stop of light, nicer portraits/low-light, more portable and cheaper :P - I'd love to see a comparison of that actually!

    It’s often said that macro lenses are often too sharp for portrait photography? It would be nice to have a follow up in how the lens does for non-macro work. Colour, sharpness, etc

    If this lens really focuses fast and at such a close distance, it is a no brainer.

    I want a macro lens that I can also use to 'scan' 35mm slides and negatives and 120-format negatives. Would this lens be a good choice?

    I specialise in reproducing artworks at high resolution via multiple stitched frames so how is the distortion and field flatness? Also you should point out that the minimum focus distance is measured from the sensor plane so the subject is nearly touching the front element! I’ll wait for Christopher Frost do do a proper review!

    YOU THINK this 30 mm can "replace" the 23 mm or the 35 mm for going out in the street with just ONE LENS..?

    I have the XF60, how does image quality compare?

    • @joseph5426
      @joseph5426 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      How do you like the 60mm as a walk around lens? I have an older Fuji camera and want something for street where I can kind-of guerilla warfare snap shots from across the street but also have the option for macro. I'm worried about how wide the 30 is because I'm so early into photography, I'm nervous being seen by my subjects. Do you think the 60 is what I'm after or would you recommend the 30?

      Maybe search sample images from both lenses and compare?

    Hi, this lens is not in the Fuji list of recommended lenses for the XT 5… why or what does it mean.

    • @xinyucai9995
      @xinyucai9995 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, is there an official list of lenses for XT5? I found a list for XH2. This lens is not included and I guess this is because it is not released at that time.

    • @martmexpue

      @@xinyucai9995 … I guess XT5 and XH2 are the same… the lens was not released, but the specifications should be known since long time. Somehow it is strange 😀

    Thanks for the video, but to save some time, you really don't need to say all the letters that follow, since there is only one 30mm fuji lens.

    This didn't really tell me a lot about the lens except to say it's a so-so macro lens because it's doing a whole bunch of other things.

    What is the difference between focal lengths when it comes to macro photography specially? Example for macro photos why choose the 30mm over the 80mm or vice versa?

    • @andr101
      @andr101 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      First thing that comes to my mind: with longer focal length lenses, you can distance yourself better from the subject, which can help in shooting insects and in avoiding casting shadow on the subject. With longer focal length, however, you get shallower DOF, which is generally already very pronounced in macro shots. Also, if we talk about composition, wide focal length optics in macro photography, let you contestualize better the subject: you can show the background better, instead of giving your subject the typical abstract out of focus backdrop. In this regard, if you do research about macro shots taken with the laowa 15mm macro, you'll see what I mean; for me, they are among the most engaging images in macro photography.

    I wish fujifilm will come up with a compact and budget friendly tele lens … 75 mm f2-2.8 wr …..the 60mm is getting old and the 80mm and 90mm is not compact and expensive
