- This How to Draw Scenery Tutorial reveals the thought processes necessary for mastering the challenge of drawing this sort of scene with ink. The black and white contrast of ink requires a controlled application to create the effect we see in this reference, but once the basics are understood and practiced, any scene becomes a potential drawing subject for your pen. You'll find the reference photo on the channel Community Page so why not have a go putting the tutorial into practice.

A challenging subject for pen, but it's all in the way we think. Please hit the LIKE Button if you find this helpful
Wow Stephen!
Thanks Mgo. Hope you try it out as well. 😀
Beautiful
This is incredible! You are soo talented and I appreciate your sharing this talent with us. 🙏
Thanks Victoria. Much appreciated. Please do me a favour and tell your friends as well. 😀
👏 congratulations!
Thanks Ricardo
I love this one! It’s about to be ski season in Maine and I’ve been out there in my car trying to draw the slopes with the chair lift perspective, lodge buildings at the base and imagining how to draw skiers in perspective coming down the hill. If you are ever short on subjects please do an active ski slope scene for us💕💕💕💕💕💕💕
Thanks. There’s not enough snow in Australia for me to have any familiarity with drawing it I’m afraid. 🫣
Very good indeed. What pens do you use?
I use Copic Multiliners for the line work, and Copic Sketchmarkers for the tone, using the brush end, not the chisel end. I use Neutral Grey colour for the tone, usually 4-6 tones each drawing. The markers are refillable and the pens can have their ink cartridges and nibs replaced. I mostly desaturate the colour when I post to make the tone look more even.😀
@@stephentraversart many thanks
I love your videos, i got a question, how long does it to finish the art?
This one about 50 mins. 😀
Very nice drawing, Stephen. Encourages me to try pens, myself. Thank you.
I notice a strong, ‘right-handed’ bias in your mark-making, especially as you don’t turn the paper. I wonder how the drawing would look in a mirror?
Not turning the paper is only because of videoing. It is a generally helpful thing to do otherwise. 😀
