I just bought this game, never played it before. I'm here to learn how to play. Seems easy enough, just always roll exactly what you need, thanks for the tip! :)
WOW a perfect play through! Amazing dice rolls! I have Castellion, Onirim and Sylvion. Was not sure about the dice rolling aspect of this one BUT having watched you play I think this will be my next purchase from the Oniverse
@@OneStopCoopShop Hi Mike, cant believe its been 2 years since I watched this video. I didnt manage to buy a copy back then. Here I am again watching your playthru having just ordered a copy of Aerion lol. P,s, Coffee roaster was/is GREAT!
Oh, that’s a good one! I’d lean slightly toward Aerion. Both games can feel like they are playing you, but Aerion has more tactics, especially with some of the mini expansions. Of course, deep space d-6 has a great theme, and Aerion has... almost none. So your mileage may vary.
Kate Unrau D6 all the way! It has several different ships and each plays very different. The theme is also cool. The dice are cooler. I may be biased for DeepSpaceD6 since I’ve played all of its ship-boards. But this Areyon game just looks ok. Kind of hard to compare the two games. D6 is more unique imho. The mechanic of this game feels too familiar, ie already done but I’d give this a try some day if I was really bored. Not a fan of the art. I actually play Sylvion which has art that goes well with the theme. This games art doesnt match the theme so good, as far as I can tell.
Yup, it’s spelled out on page 10 of the rules - “note that set results do not need to be different”, and then it gives the exact example of 4 of a kind being used for AA-BB
I really don't think four fours make it AA+BB pattern. A and B suggests they have to be two different pairs, otherwise it's simply AAAA (AA+AA) pattern. That's the point of naming them with different letters. The same with AA+BB+CC. That's why it's not AA+AA+AA (or any other wariant of these with Bs and Cs, then it'd probably be in the brackets to show the variants) but all three letters to show they do need to be three distinctive pairs here.
Oh no, NONE of the expansions covered. :( This is what would be really helpful to see. Some of the expansions get a bit tricky. Maybe a second video, please? :)
I still have the game so it’s possible. We generally do our first playthroughs of games with few to no variants, since we are partially teaching newcomers how to play
One Stop Co-op Shop I get it. I’m a newcomer to Aerion and in this case, the expansions are included. They are many and varied. Maybe an expansion play through can be in the near future. 👍🏻 Especially now when so many of us are playing solo. 🥴🙏🏻
Don’t take my playthrough as an example of how easy it is! Totally stupid luck. But remember that every mini expansion with the game lets you alter difficulty in numerous ways. You can make the game as tough as you like ;)
@@OneStopCoopShop no, no, I have the game, it is IMHO fairly easier than the other ones. I hope the expansions will make it harder, but as long as they add in variety I'm fine with the difficulty level.
@@OneStopCoopShop Possibly. but Also I don't think you have to return two cards from the same deck as the spent book card. It' only says the same deck together. Would love 100% verification.
@@adriang6259 yeah, sounds like I was playing it wrong. The rules seem to indicate that you pick ANY discard pile, and return 2 cards from it. Sorry if I messed that up!
The “crew” are represented by montain-shaped creatures. Not a fan of the art in this game. Sylvion... YES! This game... mechanically looks interesting but the art is lame

Simple!!! ;)
Great playthrough Mike! Just bought and played this recently after watching your video.. Not as easy as you made it seem but was thoroughly enjoyable!
Oh, this was a THOROUGHLY unlikely playthrough. Crazy dice rolls throughout :)

Starby Ray this is one of my favorites in the series for sure, so if you’ve enjoyed the others I’d definitely suggest checking it out :)
@@OneStopCoopShop Thanks, I am always looking to add to my solo game collection. Just managed to get a copy of "Coffee Roaster"
@@starbyray7828 Nice! Hope you enjoy that one too :)

Impressive win!!! 🏆
Thank you, thank you!
Amazing playthrough, Mike! I can't believe how many lucky rolls you got! Remind me to never play Dice Throne against you :)
I couldn’t believe it myself. I have about a 50% win ratio, USING all my pixies. This was craziness.
If it were between this and Deep Space D6, which would you choose? Each seems to scratch a similar itch.

At 16:03, correct me if I'm wrong, but I think you're supposed to get back 2 cards from the same deck of the discarded book.
Oh wow, good catch! You are absolutely right. Darn, I have to reevaluate my wins now... :)
No, Mike played it correctly. The rules do not say you have to acquire the 2 discarded cards from the same column as the discarded book
20:35
Do you need to reroll again before using the book?
I'm late to this party but are you sure that you can count four of a kind as AA-BB?
Yup, it’s spelled out on page 10 of the rules - “note that set results do not need to be different”, and then it gives the exact example of 4 of a kind being used for AA-BB
Great 👍🏻

Check page 10 of the rulebook - “note that sets of results do not need to be different (for example, AA+BB could be two pairs of the same number).”

Whoops. Sorry for assuming! I agree core is easier than some other Oniverse titles
You should buy a lotto ticket.
Otherwise great video.
This was one of my luckiest playthroughs for sure!
@@OneStopCoopShop Actually something must be wrong because I've played it three times and won fairly easily. I hope the expansions make it harder.

Good thing it's fairly quick.

The more I play, the more I agree that the art is weaker here than in the other Oniverse games. Still really love the gameplay though!
