I am almost shedding tears for the sacrifice that Femi Falana (SAN) and Adegboruwa (SAN) and their likes have been making for the nation. They have been consistent in the struggle for a better Nigeria over the years. It will be a shame on young Nigerians not to come out enmasse for the protest considering all these respectable senior citizens have put in respect of the protest. Let's troop out and be peaceful.

    An Assignment for Northerners.
See how Yorubas & South Westerners Voices Dominating this Meeting.
All in efforts to see and end the hardships & abject hunger in the land.
Struggle devoid of Tribal and Religious Bigotry. A struggle for the Nation.
Why I'm saying this is, don't forget that it is there Kinsman that's the Head of Government protesters are planning to protest against.
Had we the Northerners did the same to Buhari, we would not have arrived where we are today. But we just choosed to throw abuses and tantrums on social media and discussion circles without any genuine action to pressure the government to end insecurity which has engulfed the Northern Section of the Country - among many other challenges we are facing.
Kudos to Egbon Femi Falana: the voice and hope of the voiceless and hopeless Nigerians.
Kudos also to other distinguished Nigerians in attendance at this meeting particularly the SW for exhibiting high levels of patriotism and imbibing Nationhood over Tribal Bigotry...
I still maintain that both religious and tribal bigotry are fake and expensive, it always takes us nowhere and we pay a huge price for it: many right thinking Nigerians will bear me witness.
Why I say it's fake is, because the Politicians and religious leaders that use it to divide and rule the masses.
Their Children Play Together, befriend each other, intermarry, establish and run Businesses together etc

Falana remind us that God truly love Nigeria despite the fact that those who are privileged to have found themselves in the corridors of powers continues to work hard to truncate the peoples progress. After we lost Gani it was like all hopes was lost but then Falan stepped outs and told us here am I, send me. For years he has remained resolute, honest and committed to defending the people of Nigerians. May God continue to bless you sir and keep you not only long but health and strong to continue your humanitarian work.

I think it is equally important that the law enforcement agencies should be warned and advised not to in anyway provoke the protesters or manhandle anyone that is out to exercise their constitutional and legitimate rights to say the Government is not doing well at all. The Country belongs to all of us,and not to a group of callous and greedy people that are occupying public offices.
There's no one that has the right to stop protests,or condemn protests.
Occupying a public office does not mean that they're the owners of the Country. The unfortunate thing about all of this is that, the present set of people in Government are the people that believed so much in violence. They groom thugs, and also encourage thuggrey. It is their way of getting what they want.
Nobody sponsors violence like them. That's the only language they understands.
Without it many of them in one office or the other now will not have had the opportunity to hold any public office.
This is the most unpopular regime in the history this Country.
They stole people's mandate, to fulfill their selfish interests.

You mentioned that you have intelligence, then use it. The DSS also said they have intelligence, they know the financial sponsors, they know the political spinsors, they know those planning violence, .... then why have they not been arrested? Why are you all not acting?
Is like my security man telling me that he knows where a thief is hiding and planing to attack my home without doing anything.
No intelligence in fighting boko haram, insurgency, herdsmen, pirates, crude theft, etc. No intelligence or forecast on economic woes that has befall the nation. People can not travel with a guarantee of safe return (without being kidnapped). The only intelligence is on protest.
Anti-protest groups have already started protesting against the scheduled protest, without notice or informing the security agencies. You (the IG, government, etc) don't have problems with that, right?
Just use your office to protect the protesters, and track and prevent any intended or assumed violence anywhere.
Anyway, this is a good step. I believe this kind of deliberation and discussion will be very helpful, if all parties are sincere.
Now, 😂😂😂 I see that the IG is not sincere at all. You want to know the number of people that will come out, and how to identify them.
If I may ask, how many people protested against the scheduled protest in Lagos and Abuja?

Nigeria is a country where the chiefs received intelligent reports and used the report to threaten the innocent citizens who want to exercise their democratic rights with regards to the law of the land. If anything happens to the innocent citizens, the chiefs should resign to the mark of incompetence after receiving intelligent reports.

This meeting got me thinking. As they say angel could come in different ways. Buhari may have unknowingly set the tone for a lasting peaceful governance in Nigeria. Can you see how respectful and peaceful nature of this meeting despite the hard questions and disagreements even as it is delivered in a classy manners. It was amazing and quite commendable on the side of the IG. He showed lots of brotherhood respect to those he recognized as elder brothers and even to those that are much younger.
It will be difficult for anyone to view this high class meeting as a highly level national discussion that it is but in reality this is a national matter. I think it worth considering a constitutional change where the presidency would be rotational across all regions and whoever wins would be at liberty to employ even his father, mother, children as vp down to the last minister lol. For me if it will make the country great again and give us a lasting peace, I am for it.

Tinubu has introduced enough economic reforms in the last one year, but many youths may not be aware of the extent of the reforms. Tinubu has directed more money to states and LGAs than any government in Nigeria's history. What the youths should be doing is to protest at LGA /state levels and ask what is being done with additional money Tinubu is pushing down to the states / LGAs

Lol. I know you are one of their foot soldiers, but the more you defend the regime, the more you look silly. Local government and state are not in charge of the fiscal polical policy of the country. That is what got us here, not money shared to local government.

Femi Falana is the man of the oppressed, he has been in the struggle since time immemorial, the police should know very well that if there's no provocation there can never be assault, so the police should be warned not to provoke assault that will lead to mayhem. The government should also take note not to sponsor violence, because to every action there must be equal and opposite reaction

I want to commend the IGP for organizing this forum and also to request that he caution the men of the Nigerian police to uphold professionalism in handling this protest. We do not want anachy. I salute our father, Chief Femi Falana, and the others for their courage to always speak the truth to power. Nigeria is our own. All we want is a better society where we can leave in peace, harmony, and prosperity.

There should be a confined space for protester and a route which the protesters will walked around the city. And this should be well managed.

The country has already been destabilized by reckless government fiscal policies, removal of fuel subsidies, floating of the Naira, raising the prices of cooking gas , raising tariffs of most commodities imported goods , raised electricity bills rates , and by combinations of some or all those actions of government listed above the purchasing power of money paid to all workers in Nigeria, became reduced to ridiculous lows that households went without food and went to bed hungry!
