The thing about the Blue Whale challenge is that, by the time the "player" is supposed to kill themselves, the person manipulating them has a good amount if not all of their personal information. So if the "player" decides that after all of this that they don't want to kill themselves, the other person threatens mega blackmail with all of their information so that it forces the "player" into killing themselves. The game not only conditions you into suicide, it downright forces you into it at the end.
Simply looking at graphic stuff doesn't just make you want to commit suicide or do bad stuff. It was said mutiple times in the video and explained so well by Joe and Steve. It's a long process and it's about conditioning. Kids playing COD or GTA arent just going to start killing people. This study has already been done. Kids choosing to play a violent game vs kids who are already in a negtive mindstate then playing these types of games -- completely different. It really comes down to environment and the mindstate that the person is playing the game in. If I was sent this game I would never, because I'm in the mindstate to know better. Edit: Parents also need to teach their kids to know better. So negligence and a lack of good parenting also adds to it.

I head that from old people a lot growing up as life was changing and violence and sex was becoming more normal to see on tv and hear in music.
Steve is right on video games by the way, multiple studies have been done to show that not even violent video games on "high risk" populations (kids with depression, etc) affect them. People like to say they do cause it's easy and "makes sense" but the studies show that kids are able to tell the difference from reality and fiction. And yeah, if a kid is violent it's more likely because they have a hard life at home and therefor play violent video games as an escape rather than the other way around.
Okay, so someone thought about all of this being a good idea, to create this so called "Challenge", "Game" whatever. ...but why? What's the point? What's the reasoning, motif? Does the creator of this and the one before take pride in this or something? I would understand it if it was a game about doing something positive, like you know, light up a day of three people and then they have to do the same for the next three people etc. That would just make the world a better place, piece by piece. But suicide? So someone killed themselves. So what? How does that changes anything? People die all over the world everyday for various reasons. This is just stupid. Just don't kill yourselves people.
