Good info! I never had the chance to drive a Merc but i had crown vic lx 04 and now driving lincoln town car 04 and could say that the crown vic felt way more sturdier all around and more planted on the highway compared to the town car with rear air bags, felt like i was floating on the highway but at times felt a little unsafe, especially at highspeed, in the vic i would cut in and out of traffic without hesitation but the town car i would think twice before doing so

Had an '04 CVPI daily driver for 16 years until it expired last year and replaced it with an '05 Town Car Signature. Same comparative driving experiences as you described. The LTC has some nicer creature comfort features especially the upholstery but the windshield has a steeper slope and the side and rear windows are smaller vertically so there is a reduced visibility which slows down the driver in congested highway conditions, its an individual coordition, perception and judgement call some of us are more skilled than others. The Town Car like Panther Magazines's Merc is more a laid back presence. Where I am located Panthers are still occasionally encountered, the Crown Vics of all types are less numerous than the Mercs, and Town Cars are seen most often in light colors. No one mistakes a Crown Vic for "5 0" 'the man' any more, but taxis and security still use a few.

@@NoPainNoGain___ Yeah the Crown Vics are like the muscle heads in the gym and the Town Cars are like the elegant pretty boys - especially at high speeds like you mentioned.

@@richardkluesek4301 I can imagine the difference driving a Vic for 16 years then getting behind the wheel of a Town Car. You went from NASCAR to Presidential 🤣😎Where I’m at there’s actually a wide range of Panthers. The capital city still has police Vics at the police stations - but we see way more Crown Vics & Mercs here and Town Cars are usually always older folks.

@@panthermagazine Right ! An LTC customer in those days would be an affluent retiree or established successful business person. If a livery, the employee driver would be late middle aged and the most exciting event in its history would be a bridal party or prom kids spilling drinks in the back. Whereas a CVPI would be driven to the limits of its speed and engineering endurances by Starsky & Hutch on orders from the Chief or Sheriff with qualified immunity, and anything from shot up prisoners bleeding to death to babies being born in the back seat could all be possible. A Merc would be a personal car for a high earner and like the LTC have had a gentler driving life with tender care. I miss the hp performance and roar of the engine, and the visibility was superior. But luxury is a +.

Just came across your Chanel. New to the panther deciding which one to get. Which years are best for either cars? I’ve heard the crown Vic lx sport and the grand marquis lse are the best of the best for these two cars. Love to get your thoughts. Im in between comfort ride but with a little bit of speed. Ha keep videos coming! 💯👍

@@Mrnormalsense Hey! Congratulations grabbing your Panther! So the LSE is SUPER rare if you can find one but the best year for the Mercury Grand Marquis would be the 2003 year - for speed & comfort you’re probably better off purchasing the Crown Victoria LX. My last Panther was an LX with Flowmaster 44, cat delete, with a straight pipe - car sounded great and definitely a bit faster than the Grand Marquis. I also had Grand Marquis seats in it so it gave it the luxury comfort of a Grand Marquis.

@@panthermagazine hey thanks so much for getting back to me. I didn’t know you can also use exchange interior parts that blew my mind. I always thought it was just exterior. I’ve heard the crown Vic’s are know for their trannys to go bad around 150K. Thanks I’ll look for thoose models appreciate your response!

I owned a 1989 Grand Marquis LS with air ride and the handling package from 1993-2005. I now drive a 2004 Grand Marquis LS which I bought in 2018. Between the two, I like the ride of the 1989 better. It's hard to explain why, but the way the '89 rode it was just a nicer, softer ride and the car just felt larger and more planted. I think the key factor is the '89 had the soft velour seats while my '04 has the stiffer leather and seat choice does make the difference. I would ditch the leather in a second to go back to the velour seats.

@@mysticstarhf9265 An ‘89 sounds like heaven. Especially those velour seats you mentioned. I think what makes the older cars so different is just the feel in drive. Even the Aeros - it feels like your driving an ‘89 opposed to an ‘05+ - especially with all the old school features like the horn being a button on the corner of the steering wheel instead of pressing the middle of the steering wheel. We need to bring back the velour seats!! 🤣

Hey bro, thanks for making this video. Im still watching so maybe you cover this later in the video. Can you share the difference between the marquis and the vic in terms of cabin noise? Is one more quiet than the other?
