I’m so excited because I love both their channels
I took 19 credit hours my spring freshman year and then I was like, "let's do that again..." So, I took 20 my next semester and then 19 again (semester of covid) so all my classes became virtual in March. And 19 credit hours online was so rough. I feel for you, but it makes other semesters so much easier. Good luck!
How does the credit system work for you guys? Like in my university (in India) a 3 credit course either has 3 theory classes in a week or 2 theory and 1 lab or project component, going by which I have 25 credits this (Sophomore Winter) semester
@@VedantMishra55 I was wondering that too because in belgium 2 semesters equals 60 credits
In American universities, one credit hour counts as physically being in that class one hour a week so if you are in a class for two hours on Mondays and Wednesdays it’d be a four credit hour class. Most of the time. Sometimes they make classes longer but count for less credit hours. It’s pretty confusing for me sometimes and I’ve grown up around my uni 😂

Where is your school? It’s shocking to see in person classes with no masks as a student in Los Angeles. I’m 2 semesters into my grad program and haven’t seen a single one of my classmates in person
She goes to Southern Virgina School. They have less than 2,000 students on campus and it’s really far from the city center.
It was shocking for me too! It was such a different thing to see, and didn't seem safe!

At my college we still have to wear masks everywhere we go but we have in person classes

I really envy school schedule in America. Here in the Philippines we have our classes from 7 a.m to 5 p.m and sometimes lasts until 7 p.m
some of our classes can run until 5 or 6 and be as early as 7...it just depends on how you schedule your classes haha

For everyone wondering:
I go to college in the US and usually each credit is one hour of class time in a week. For example, I have chem lecture for 1.5 hours, 2x a week (3 credits) and ethics lecture for 1.5 hours, 2x a week (3 credits). BUT, my science labs that are 3 hours - 3 hours and 25 minutes long, 1x a week are only worth 1 credit. For my school, 12 credits is the minimum per semester to be considered a full time student, and 18 is the legal limit, unless you can appeal to the dean to have extra credits per semester or are in an accelerated/double degree program. This minimum to maximum varies from state to state and even schools.

Im just curious, do you get to choose how many credits you want to take? Here in Portugal its mandatory to take 30 credits each semester so im really curious about that, loved the video!!
Same it sounds so "easy" in the US. In Germany we should have 30 credits as well or even more if it's possible I think everyone in Europe has the same university system.

In the US most semester courses are worth 3 credits, and you take about 5 courses a semester, so a full year of study would be equal to 30 credits. to get a bachelor's degree, you have to have 120 credits
@@julia-sz9xv at least here classes go from 4 to 6 credits, harder classes are worth more credits. I dont think the "easier" was literal, just that it seems that we have more classes/ classes that are "harder" because they value more. Each european credit is equivalent to 28 hours of work, i dont really know how that works in the US, so seeing 19 credits as a lot for a semester its weird from an european pov

In Germany you should have at least 30 credits each semester. I am taking 32 right now and I feel tired every single day😩😂
In the US, they have different credit scale than in Europe (I googled it because I was also confused about that small number 😅) so she is actually taking above 30 credits

For those of you wondering how many ECTS the 19 American credits are; the conversion rate is around 2:1, so she's taking about 38 ECTS :) 30 ECTS per semester is the typical workload, but taking 38 ECTS is also quite normal at my University. Good luck with your classes!
It's my mid semester break (we call it "reading week" in Canada ... not sure what you guys call it!) but yeah I still don't have my schedule down so good for you for trying! LOL

I've taken 18 credits for 3 semesters now I think? The lowest amount I took was freshman fall, which was 16 (chemistry + lab, physics + lab, calculus II, intro to fiction writing and another 3 credit class I can't remember lol)
