This is completely unrelated to mixing, but I would love if you could do a video on how Skrimor gets his tracks (Gas is a good example, or Club Girl) to have such an amazing groove, it's so unique. I assume it's some ducking trick but it's so hard to recreate. More videos on rolling neuro stuff in general would be awesome, there's so few really good tutorials on here,
This was one of the best mixing tutorials especially on limiting, gain staging and overall organization of elements I have ever seen, thank you. Noob question here: do you just use drum groups so you can layer for example hi hats and be able to control them before they get into the drum buss so you get some precontrol over all the hihat layers? Would you recommand additional group channels for other elements other than the drums? Also (because I have seen otherwise): would you route your sub to the same bass buss as you mid bass layers? I have seen a lot people using different busses because they wanted to sidechain the sub heavier than the mid basses and that method often gets my mixes weird and I don't know what "the right approach" would be here. Thank you so much for the video, I learned so much. Edit: smashed the subscribe and like button so damn hard.
You’re welcome, thanks for the kind words! Also some really great questions. In terms of drum groups yes that’s exactly it, it’s like the drum groups act as their own little mixdown centre so I can make sure all the levels are in the right place before sending them to the drum buss, makes such a big difference. And yes I would recommend making additional groups if you need to, you should customise the template to you. For example, if you use multiple serum patches for 1 bass, like a low + mid + high bass, group them altogether, that’ll give you more control too. Can work for the vocals and instruments too, just depends on your track and style. Experiment and see what works best for you. I have always just sent my sub bass to my bass buss, I’ve never had any issues by doing that, I think it’s best to keep things as simple as possible, 5 busses in total seems perfect to me - but again no harm in experimenting! Appreciate the sub, welcome 🙏
@ArcNade what an awesome extended answer, really appreciate the time and efforts you put into the Video aswell as responding so detailed to such a long question. I am really really grateful that I found your Channel. I will apply all these workflow tips and try to step up the mixing a little further, thank you a lot. I Wish you all the best in this world that These Videos go viral on youtubes production niche, a lot of beginners can Profit so much from the way you Show and explain. Again: thank you a lot
Thanks for this, gonna test out the mixing loud method. Correct me if im wrong but this seems to be the Clip to Zero method taught by Baphometrix and Ill Gates as well? Utilizing distortion from the bottom of the signal and limiting/clipping the tops.
Yes it’s pretty much exactly that. You just have to be really careful about distorting issues in every stage of the gain staging, individual tracks, groups, busses and on the master, it’s quite easy to hear when it’s distorting once you’ve been doing it for a while 🙏
All my music is on Spotify or soundcloud under the same name as my TH-cam, I’ve got millions of streams in total and most are made with this exact template 🫡
Great content, as always! I need some advice: My OKX wallet holds some USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (mistake turkey blossom warfare blade until bachelor fall squeeze today flee guitar). How can I transfer them to Binance?
This metaphor is incredible.❤ Gonna fetch that Template just for comparison. Amazing video😊 GClip is cool, but my issue with it: VST2 32 Bit, not 64 Bit (VST 3). I think I'll take a look if there's an update on them. VST 2 32 Bit has the issue, whenever I change something. Everything gets paused. If there's a work around let me know.
Thank you for your content and your time to replie.. I will try your template shortly and start a fresh track. I have about five that started off sounding OK but now they’re totally fked 😂

If GClip isn't working I would try another plugin. "Free Clip" is a good alternative that I've used before so maybe try that?
