a long time ago i listened to this song and i was intrigued. i looked at the comments. everyone was talking about the game i had no clue what they were talking about something about hugging rise n her rank 8 i had no clue. so i gave the animation a try and i quickly fell in love with the art and how the characters seemed so alive and the way they interacted with each other. so i decided to give the game a try i started in persona 4 then i quickly loved it i enjoyed my days passing by trying to catch the culprit and only to find out i got a normal ending and i was dissatisfied "why where did i go wrong?!" i restarted and gave things a try i tried and i made a lot of efforts that didnt go to waste. then i found out that there is a vita version only somewhat different and then i gave that one a try and i loved it a lot more. soon i started playing persona 1. then 2. then 3 and i enjoyed my days to the fullest "where was i when these games came out?" i felt so happy i found something that i can enjoy. i soon play persona q and my inner fan is so happy it never wants to let go. Now im here 2 years later listening to this same video that started it all. thanks to persona i now play more jrpgs such as tales series, star ocean, fire emblem. it opened up the wold of gaming to me and this is my thanks. thanks for the memorable stories thanks for the sad moments an endings and thanks for the beautiful art.
wouldn't say exclusively Persona 4, because I love the music from the series (not just Persona but the whole Megaten) in general, but P4 sure was the catalyst, even after 10+ years I still keep going back to the OST
The brief reprise of I'll face myself is like the final desperate attempts of someone trying to deny who their true self is, before finally breaking down and accepting who they really are.
It's so sad..but then the brief reprise of I'll face myself starts playing,and it's almost like a hope spot,or remembering the good times,before the flood gates collapse.
or as i see it the face myself part brings the climax of a tough battle of betrayal and emotion as the two non-descript characters of the scene duke it out never saying a word, the combat telling all.

It's the best video game series of all time. I can't pick a favriot and all of the games are just fantastic. Persona 4 holds a special place in my heart. I started with 4 and just wow. I can honestly say I've never felt more alive than when I was playing that game.
I don't know why... but this song made me want to write something to let out my emotions... Why is it we do bad things? Maybe… because we're overcome and blinded with rage? We have a need to kill, a need to destroy because we lost a love one? Be it a pet, family or even a monster? Loss is a terrible thing that no one should EVER have to go through. Experiencing the loss of two of these myself is hard, first a Border Collie/ Kelpie cross was humanely euthanised due to cancer and my mum passed away from a heart attack… no one should ever have to go through what I went through, I would kill the one I hate the most just to bring any of them back… but that wouldn't suffice… because I know that neither would accept the truth that their own son or master killed to bring them back… Mom was a kind-hearted lady and Jess was a high-spirited and energetic dog who slowly degraded into a limping sad sort to look at… I couldn't bear the thought of losing either, balling my eyes out in private over one and completely losing it for the other, I would've done terrible things for either of them… if it were that I didn't know that these things have ramifications, even with your goal. So, what now? Do I give up? Kill myself or just isolate myself from everybody, run away from home and leave everyone I met and loved to this point… no… I dealt with it… I gave a good cry… and got over it… yes, I know it's harsh but the easiest way of getting over something… is simply that… as long as you have something to remember them by, a picture, clothing, whatever, even thoughts of those you've lost… could do wonders for you if you just let go… no one wants to see you cry every day about something… no one wants to see you take out your negativity on things… nobody wants to look back… and see themselves as monsters… I'm sorry... I'm just wasting space on this comment section am I? It's just this song is just that good, it made me want to write this!
I'm sorry you went through something like that. I know it couldn't possibly compare to the pain you felt, but I have pain in my heart as well. I'm an artist you see, and I have this amazing friend who inspired me to become an artist. This friend of mine does...such beautiful work. His characters, his stories....everything is just so beautiful. So beautiful in fact that I began to hate myself because no matter what I drew, no matter what I wrote, it never compared with his work. I began to spiral into depression and self-loathing because I loved his work so much. I hated my work, and I hated myself. I still do honestly. Envy is a terrible thing. If you don't release it on other people, it just builds up inside you. It's like a parasite, slowly eating away at my soul and happiness. Jealousy is ugly, I know. That's why I keep it inside. That's why I let it eat away at me. Because I don't want to hurt my friend's feelings. I want him to be happy, even if that means sacrificing my own happiness.
theninjamandude Have you tried talking to your friend about it? I'm sure he'd understand and would probably give you some advice on what to do. If not then you always have your family. =) Besides, I'd like to see your art, you might be better than what your envy and jealousy is telling you.
I know that this comment was posted a while ago, but I felt that I had to say something. Loss is a hear shattering matter and I agree that no one should have to go through it. I haven't dealt with too much loss in my life, but there was someone I had lost, and I had a huge amount of regret inside me when she died and I still do, looking back at it. But if you keep something like that bottled up inside, it tears away at you and the only way to ease it is by letting it mend over time with someone by your side to let your feelings out with. Your true friends and family will help you mend the pain and hearing support from them will let you live with no regrets. I know this might sound cheesy, but just know that as long as you have someone beside you with a shoulder to cry on, eventually you will move on. I just want to let you know your comment was not a waste ( if anything mine is because I'm replying 5 months after you made this comment XD), it really touched me as soon as I read it, I felt that something needed to be said. Nanako... nanako is all I can think about. I was like "I gotta to save her! I gotta save her!" I finished the dungeon on one day.

She died on my first playthrough because i hated namatame and killed him. Looked up the true ending and now i save her every time.
I beat the Heaven Dungeon in two days. One was spent getting to the top. The next was the actual boss fight.
