Drummound and Curuso for me please.
Drafting Zach Edey would be a bad idea because they said that the Lakers are looking forward to trade No.17 overall pick. Why they pick someone else JSM?
I think we cooked regardless another miserable szn coming right up 😪
Love this kid Zach Edey! He’s working on his 3 point shot. Believe me, he hits 35% from 3 he dominate Brook Lopez, Jovic, Chet, Wemby….7’4 300+ THATS CRAZY!
That 3 is for his draft stock.
Dereck Lively did exactly the same thing at the combine last year - then proceeded to not shoot the 3 at all in the season.
Agree Blazin50s…..except Lively ain’t 7’4 300+lbs. with all due respect, Lively did nothing like Edey did in these past playoffs. Sure it might be a one off. He’s been in college for 4 years. With that comes more discipline, fine tuning his game, Lively did two years, then declared for the draft. Edey, again 4 years. Lively listed at 7’1, 230 out of college….even if now he weights 250. Edey’s got a good 50 lbs on him plus 3 inches and a longer reach. Lively will get better given the court time, which is out of every players hands except those named, LeBron, Steph, Jason, Luka, and a few others. Be interesting and fun to see what happens between now and June 26-27.
@@lamarbenavides1934 that added weight is all the more reason we won’t see him shoot that 3. All that height and weight wtf you doing at the 3pt line.
More to your point, he’s a back to the basket big who has never been a role player in his life at 7’4. Should get drafted for sure, but not the best fit on the Lakers right now.
@@Blazin50s great comments. Let’s see what happens on Draft Day. Lakers to be competitive need more athletic two way players I believe.
@@lamarbenavides1934 Zach Edey is not a defensive liability, and he moves well for his size.
First on the "You need to be more than big" criticisms, I think you need to do the proper research on Edey, particularly at the Combine, where he both beat Sarr and Clingan in the agility drills as well as placing 5th in the three point shooting drills.
Chris Keesee (NBA Scouting)
@HoopKeesee
DUDE. Unofficial times, but Edey just beat Sarr in the lane agility testing by a comfortable amount
Ryan Dunn PF | Lane Agility: 10.99 | Shuttle Run: DNP | Three Quarter Sprint: 3.12 | Standing Vert: 32.0 | Max Vert: 38.5
Tyler Smith PF | Lane Agility: 10.74 | Shuttle Run: DNP | Three Quarter Sprint: 3.42 | Standing Vert: 32.0 | Max Vert: 38.0
Alexandre Sarr C | Lane Agility: 11.43 | Shuttle Run: 3.23 | Three Quarter Sprint: 3.44 | Standing Vert: 30.5 | Max Vert: 37.0
Kel'el Ware C | Lane Agility: 10.74 | Shuttle Run: DNP | Three Quarter Sprint: 3.23 | Standing Vert: 32.5 | Max Vert: 36.0
Zach Edey C | Lane Agility: 10.74 | Shuttle Run: DNP | Three Quarter Sprint: 3.51 | Standing Vert: 26.0 | Max Vert: 31.5
Donovan Clingan C | Lane Agility: 10.74 | Shuttle Run: DNP | Three Quarter Sprint: 3.54 | Standing Vert: 25.5 | Max Vert: 29.0

@FearTheBrown
Edey has a faster lane agility time than Sarr, Missi, and of course Clingan. Clingan was downright slow.
It's not a fluke either - Edey's time last year would be faster than those three as well.
--
If you're going to talk about Edey when it comes to strengths & weaknesses or worries, you should be bringing up the most recent stuff, like things to look forward to or that he did at the combine that may quell those worries or show where he's really at or could be.
I don't need Edey to be as dominant as he was in college for the Lakers. The fact he's unstoppable inside means that he pulls defensive attention away as you have to double him or he's going to score. This would leave, LeBron, AD, Reaves. DLO(if they retain him) wide open in response or off-ball. And off broken plays, you can give it to Edey for a post score and slows down the offense additionally for the benefit of our team. A dominant big man in the league actually makes the jobs of the shooters(who the league now rely on) far easier. Think about any dominant big man in history if they had a Steph Curry next to them how much easier the offense comes. Put Shaq in the paint, and have Curry and Klay on the perimeter as the guys that get left open because they have to double/triple team Shaq. A team benefits further from having a dominant inside presence big, because it opens up things on the wings and off ball. Jokic is proving this. As dominant bigs start coming back into the league, the rest of the NBA will figure it out eventually to. Get ahead of the curve instead of being 3-4 seasons behind it like usual.
So your argument is to use how a player looked in the NBA draft combine doing some drills instead of how they looked throughout 4 years of college? Alrighty. Go back and watch some tape on how Edey looked sliding his feet and doing anything except drop coverage or camping in the paint defensively. Combine numbers become irrelevant real quick in the NBA. No worries about Edey’s offensive game for me, but if you’re worry free about him defensively because of some “combine drill times”, then I think you should re-think that.
@@JSM24 I'm not worry free. I just don't see any weaknesses that I don't see in someone like Jokic. Being a dominant inside force that can't be stopped inside ultimately makes more of a difference than teams exploiting him in drop coverage.
My argument is that he went to the combine and beat Sarr and Clingan in the agility drills and placed 5th in the three point shooting.
Those are the thing that should provide positive aspects when looking at what he may be. I don't have zero worries, just not ones that terrify me. I also know he'd have Anthony Davis working with him on his defense AND being there to back him up.
Sam Cassell has developed current NBA players Paul, Shai, and Maxey. He has championship pedigree as a player, he is a natural leader, knows the game, he was skillful at both guard positions. He should have been hired before Ham.
This is a good insight. I dont know much about sam cassell tbh. Thank you for this. What about his past head coaching jobs? Has he been a coach?
@@CrowKage8 never
Development Coaching is a totally different skill
Cut the crap hire mark jackson
Nothing personal but a big NO to Zach Edey. They need to trade for a top proven player. They should have signed DeMar DeRozan who really wanted to be a Laker instead of Brodie a few. years ago, a trade that created great damage to the franchise. Plus their draft picks have missed the mark. DLo over Booker. BI over Jaylen Brown. Lonzo Ball over De'Aaron Fox.
Our draft picks were good enough to be traded for AD, then win a Championship. There are NBA teams that have still never won a Championship.
Zach Edey is the best player in college basketball. If he's available at 17 YOU TAKE HIM. Ya'll want a 'real center' that moves AD back to the 4, and is unstoppable inside AND was the best offensive rebounder in college basketball AND is a multi-year kid AND is one of the most efficient scorers AND has defensive upside. 7'3 barefoot, 7'9 wingspan, 299 pounds and was quicker than #1 pick Sarr at the Combine and was 5th on the 3 point shooting drills there as well? And you'd say NO to that?
Yeah, no. Take Edey, take him if he's available at 17 and ask no questions and don't hesitate.
@@carrastealthI agree ngl I feel like he can learn from ad too
Fox? How about Mitchell. How about Tatum. How about Markkanen. Fox? C’mon.
@@nathanvert767 And AD backing up defensively as well. But with Edey being at the 5, AD can roam like he used to at the 4 and he can cover other places too.
I wouldn't mind them picking up eddy!
Zach Edey is a beast 7’4 280 shoots the 3 pointer 60% and he ran well and he’s big and strong!!!
Finally somebody gets it! The Lakers need to draft Edey to pair next to AD!!!
Zach learning under AD to play a big omg please get him we need size and he can shoot so he and AD can switch any night they want
I don't understand why the Lakers are leaking everything that they do with the coaching search. Rob needs to go if he wouldn't shut his mouth.
The first round picks are being used in trades as reported by shams Woj and Buha and from the Laker front office Rob Pelinka. If they do anything different than that then Jeanie order was not fulfilled. At all costs Keep Lebron and build roster win now. Fuck around lose Bron which I know many of you could careless AD going demand trade. Some may careless. Lakers are about titles. Not mediocrity in which Rob Pelinka is all for and then line his own pockets.
Don't forget to mention Phil Jackson. Both Rob and Phil are sabotaging the Lakers in order to protect the ring lead for mj and kobe.
Lakers are known to treat their ace stars well. Although not likely and if LeBron leaves that is his loss. Lastly. Give LeBron all that he wants but it's all on him if the plan fails. I jokingly said before if he was able to win this year I'd let Lakers take bronny no questions asked and his other sons can join if he want it too lol. but now we lost in first round playoff. The responsibility is all on him and no more coaches taking the blame crap again. And yes don't try to manipulate the media I can smell it a mile away.
@JC.72 oh boy. U totally missed it. Your opinion though. Bronny will go to his own team. They have made that clear. Rich Paul has. That said Darvin Ham and his staff except Phil Handy were totally a piece of dog shit purr and simple. 8 players for sure spoke to Pelinka and Jeanie. AR15 DLO AD BRON CWood etc. Facts as reported by Woj and Buha. It had to be done. It was a uniamous decision from the front office. Period.
@@johnhowe4211 I just don't buy the idea that ANY coach or staff member did not get an OK from LeBron before forming the team. U can get the so call info / words from people but that's just something I don't buy directly. Do u think hiring Mike dantoni and Phil Jackson didn't get an OKAY from Kobe? What I am saying sure the coach can suck or fail. But God damn u OKAYed it. To me it's all on LeBron anyways. If he was so incompetent why did u even approve it in the first place? so sure u can try to escape the blame with manipulation playing the media but u ain't fooling me. There is a reason why seemingly we always have younger less proven coaches along side with LeBron so there is an easy target to blame. wink wink I know what u thinking wink wink. Why don't u hire a more established old geezer coach this time LeBron? Going for a young newbie coach like JJ again? Even have to bring out coach k to vouch for him? Lol don't get me wrong I like JJ but I am still gonna gotta call it out for what i see. And lastly I don't hate LeBron I appreciate his skill and chance for a title shot with him and we are on the same boat since being a lal fan but u can't take all the chances u want and have it your way without taking responsibility. And just to be fair I will trash talk Kobe for his lack of defense too. And I am not gonna getting into lebron's lack of defense and others calling him stats padding stuff. As long as we win he can pad all the stats he wants and bring all his family on the team if he wants. Bronny is definitely not ready yet for Lal if LeBron wants a title shot. He would be more of a burden than help on lebron's team. There is no time for prep and developing Young players. We need roasters that can go to work immediately. I am certain even LeBron would agree on this but if LeBron can WILL his way to a champ I am willing to give him EVERYTHING he wants as well.
Straight facts.
then he go to vegas and to be playing with one of the best player and i could imagine the work ethics with one of the best player, im so grateful for 38 years of NBA and i hope to see at least 30 more
Zach Edey gives the lakers a finals berth
Thatll put us back in the big man talk!!! As AD GO BACK TO THE 4 man that will be nasty!
They should draft kel ware at that spot him and AD next to each other would be unstoppable
Edey dominated Ware.
If they can get Ware, sure why not. I just think Edey once he’s drafted, gets a PT, regular workouts, eats better, he’ll be a force. What kinda scares me is a Ralph Sampson, Bill Walton, Greg Ogden type of injury🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️, that would suck.
Take Edey. He has the speed and potential to be stronger once around with pro players like Zubac.
Seems like a perfect idea to draft Edey and Bronny. The thing to note is that development doesn't end after the draft, and the most important thing is the work they are willing to put in for improvement
Player development wise... the best coaching option is Phil Handy.
I would definitely take Edy if he's available!!!!! He plays both ends and all of his skills need to be utilized!!! People aren't giving him enough credit, and he will surprise people! As great as LeBron is, the front office can't let any player hold the team hostage by drafting his son to keep him on the team. I cannot believe the front office's decision to narrow their coaching choices, especially Redick!!!!! The only coaching experience he has is in his son's youth league!!! He sounds great as a TV analyst and podcaster but how will he command the players' respect with ZERO EXPERIENCE MANAGING GROWN MEN and the fact that he was an ok NBA player?????
Hopefully we trade Austin reaves. He was absolutely trash in both series against the nuggets. He can’t guard anyone at a playoff level. He’s a good regular season warrior but I’d rather get an upgrade to the team while he has high value.
You mean D'Lo lol austin was pesky defensively on Jamal
@@codybassist92 Both
Reaves literally was one of the only bright spots in the nuggets series last season it’s not his fault his backcourt running mate is Dlo who doesn’t play defense at all
@@4ransom437 You are right that Reaves played very good defense in the Denver series, but you are wrong that D’lo played no defense. You know the funny thing is that although D’lo had complete no show games on offense in the Denver series, he still had the best plus/minus of all Lakers players playing over 30 minutes despite shooting horribly in 3/5 games. That should tell you that he was actually contributing in other ways, like ball movement and defense. D’lo’s 1v1 defense isn’t great, but his team defense has always been good. People don’t know why he’s been considered a defensive liability for most of his career, and just assume he’s bad at every aspect of defense. D’lo was a liability for most of his career, because his 1v1 defense was trash, but his team defense was good. He’s usually in the right spots to help and recover, and makes good rotations. He’s been consistently high in steals among point guards for years, because he reads the passing lanes, because his ability to see the floor on offense translates to seeing what the opposing point guard sees, allowing him to get steals despite his below average athleticism.
Anyways, people are going to want to throw the role players under the bus, because that’s what happens for LBJ’s teams. LBJ is never held accountable for wins and losses. Some great leader he is…
I swear I’ll be sick to my stomach if Edey works out in the nba and we didn’t draft him at 17.
I agree, but he’ll probably be selected before 17. I don’t think every team is going to fall for this downplay propaganda some of these draft experts are trying to play.
dont worry about the speed, all new fresh legs
A little slow is not bad, but he's really slow. He will get targeted and wings will just drive constantly right at him. Back up big, maybe.
Bronny stay strong. Undrafted laker. His defense and shooting at the pg position will be key.
My hope us lakers
-draft 7ft kel El ware w the 17th pick. 3&D center. Great passer as well. Good scorer.
-Draft 6ft10 3&D sf Baba Miller in the 2nd round.
-Pick up Bronny as a undrafted rookie so he van play w his dad. 1st time in history would we hv seen that
Zach edey won't fall to the 17th pick. Book it
I've been said the Lakers should've hired these coaches Mike Krzyzewski, Roy Williams, Jim Boeheim, Larry Brown, Jay Wright, Phil Jackson, Mark Jackson, Monty Williams, Michael Cooper, Adrian Griffin, Sam Cassell, Chauncey Billups, Kevin Ollie, Jacque Vaughn, Kenny Atkinson, Terry Porter, Dewayne Casey, Sam Mitchell, George Karl, Penny Hardaway, Jerry Stackhouse........
Zach Edey could get ran off the court against a fast offense, plus no switching on defense would limit what the Lakers could do.
Doesn’t seem to be a problem for the Nuggets, and Edey is significantly more mobile than Jokic.
do you think the lakers will give a shot on colin castleton?
No way zach eddy is available for Lakers at 17th pick . He too good he gone go top 10.
He should be top 5, but draft analyst are trying to tank his stock. I really believe there is a team outside the top 10 that is paying these televised ‘draft experts’ to spread propaganda downplaying Edey’s stock, so that Eddy can fall to them. He’s just too good to not be considered top 5. When I saw what he was doing in the tournament, I was almost convinced he would be a #1 pick, if the team picking first needed a big man.
@@Eastra3 exactly 💯 what you said makes total sense because he was dominant in the post even SHAQUILLE O'NEAL came out to see him play and congratulate his game and they both was like it's a honor to meet you and SHAQUILLE was like "the honor is all mine" I was like even Shaq recognize his amazing talent.
@@juicewrld9867 yep, Shaq sure did.
bronny won't be available at 55. i would get edey though if you can at 15 but he will be gone too. remember this is a weak draft so folks are going to take some risk
Draft Jalen Hood-Schifino again over Jaime Butler Jr
Of those 3, I will take Sam Cassell. If I have to take JJ, I would make him an assistant. I wish someone like Brian Shaw could come back as an assistant.
Most teams are trying to keep the Lakers from drafting Bronny James or Zach Edey . And with the Atlanta Hawks with the first overall pick have first choice. Atlanta Hawks could get Zack Edey
Lakers doesn't need to trade no one they need two draft picks that all they need
Zach may slow down the joker
Maybe him but he's not going to do anything against wembanyama, chet, Alec sarr, or porzingis or any of the other tall mobile centers
If the reigning DPOY can’t slow down Jokic I don’t think we should be expecting a rookie to do that.
@@JSM24 I agree with you that we shouldn’t set those expectations on a rookie, but being a DPOY doesn’t mean you can shut down all forms of offense. It just means that your overall defensive impact is the best in the league, but you still have weaknesses. We wouldn’t expect Gobert to lock up guards in space. Although we would expect him to handle his 1v1 match-ups with other big men quite well, he got his DPOY more so due to his help defense, which is why most big men get the award. There aren’t enough elite offensive centers to lock up in order to build a DPOY resume. When it comes to perimeter players getting DPOY, there is plenty of opportunity to build a resume for locking up the elite perimeter scorers.
I would add, that just like AD is an elite defender, he can’t handle Jokic in a 1v1, because Jokic is simply too heavy for AD. AD actually becomes a defensive liability when he has to guard Jokic, because now our best defender needs a double team to help him contain Jokic. So, yeah, there are many elite defenders out there that elite at different forms of defense.
bruh we need edey so we can put ad back on the 4 so he can dominate again
“So he can dominate again”… you do realize his numbers have been at their best since joining the Lakers during the past two years when he’s played at the 5 right?
@@JSM24 still hes better playing at the 4 then the 5
@@JSM24 plus ad likes the 4
@@JSM24he is dominate no matter what position, but he is going to be more of a force with him at the 4 and having an actual 5 which is what we had in 2020 when we won the chip.
@@xtucsespecially against the nuggets. AD roaming would help make the lakers 1st or 2nd best defensive team in the league.
Valanciunas and Edey, that's ok.
He’s got a way higher ceiling than Valecunis.
There is no reasonable trade we can make for a star that makes us favorite in west. We give up all our depth and all future picks to please my favorite player Lebron but he is 40 guys. We need to draft and develop our own young star. People underestimate the impact Zach edey could have on this team.
We don’t have a choice, we have to contend and it’s more obvious than ever. We can develop players when we’re out of the Bron era.
We won’t have any draft capital left and end up like clippers and phoenix with no future.
@@michaelalleyne812 I didn’t say trade all our future draft capital. Edey is 7’4 and never had to play a role in his life. On top of that he’s a back to the basket Center who camps the paint and that’s supposed to work next to AD? Let alone Lebron. We should draft a ready made player or make a smaller trade to get solid help.
All the sports reporters gave the lakers an A+ last offseason for the moves we made. We never had a fully healthy team and front office thought Darvin was not the right coach. Pelinka will do what he wants, but makes sense to keep draft picks with new and improved coach staff, keep most of the team together and see how things go until draft deadline.
@@michaelalleyne812 I agree, I also think Pelinka did well last off season still. This roster makes sense but there’s roles to be improved having seen a season of certain players. I think it’s a shame we’ll probably lose Prince, he was one of the only pickups that actually played consistently well.
Lakers needs Edey and George or Durant. Russel, Durant, Edey, Davis, James! Thats a championship team!
The team has already the two top player in the league, just sorround them with good role players...
The Lakers need a good coach to know how to used they players
With Lebron coming into retirement I would pick up JJ and set a culture in LA for the foreseeing years. Pick up Edey at 17 to start next to AD and have AD shoot more 3s this year. Pick up Bronny in the 2nd round to please Lebron and give him a great reason to give him some more motivation to play great for the last couple of his years.
FIRST FROM FREEDOM'S FRONTIER, ROK!
Considering what we got out of the last 17th pick, anyone that can contribute would be awesome.
He can replace Brook Lopez milwaukee bucks
Please get "Weclm back Evian" on a t-shirt?
If we’re drafting #17 that player needs to be NBA ready this season.
Personally I don’t think Edey is a good fit. Why would we want a back to the basket big, there is one ball and we’ve got AD. He’s also someone who’s clearly had teams built around him his entire life so he camps in the paint, we don’t have shooting like that.
Jokic proves you are wrong, the best team has the best player which is a center.
Nah fuck the wolves assistant coach he was darvin ham 2.0 in game 4 if u was watching and wondering why certain players weren’t on the court when they should have been that’s why.

Get the Big Kid Zach and Lebron will get Bronny Here... The Future is AD as the #1 option....The Young boy can block shots all night..., Coach K can help develop the young players....
Edey is going in the lottery. Never make it to the 17th pick.
Drafting Bronny because it makes a 40 year LBJ happy is stupid.
Me… I think let Bronny earn his own stripes and forget about Edey and focus on player development. Don’t set yourself up for a big fall when LeBron is done 💪🏽 Lakers are still very talented and could win it all next if a couple things come together…. Like getting Vando back 👍🏽
Where is the LAURI MARKENAN + COLLIN SEXTON VID... swap 17th for 31 w. Utah, draft Bronny. Trade D Lo/AR/Rui (anyone not named LBJ/AD) and picks. Cmon lets go, rookies aren't what the Lakers need right now. We know Aigne loves picks. 💯💯💯

I just don't think we can get bronny, another team will take a chance with him before our pick.
Before pick 55 yes, but doubtful anyone takes him before pick 17. That would be a gigantic reach. Problem is that the Lakers should not do that either. Gotta try their best to package their 55th pick + cash to trade up in the 2nd rd IMO.
Bronny will be a Hawk. His agent is Rich Paul. Bron wants his son to be his own man and player. Bronny can't play in his Dads shadow. It will destroy the Kidd.
Zach Edey won’t be available at 17.
I hope the lakers trade rui, reaves, vanderbilt, dlo for Kevin durant then sign him for 2 yrs, he may win a championship with the lakers. I want to see bronny sign with the Lakers. Imagine lebron,ad,durant, bronny, reddish and sign dwight for back up center. That would be awesome.
Lose Cam. Lose JHS. Lose Hayes. Lose Lewis. Lose AR. Open to losing Rui…….. we need more TWO WAY PLAYERS.
I'm tired of the "Let's make LeBron happy" narrative.
It's time to make AD the centerpiece to build around both in terms of a Head Coach and teammates.
