It's amazing to see they still uphold the same beliefs on fame. Matty's reiterated these in his more recent interviews. Definitely one of the things that sets them apart
Great interview. There is humour in the conversation, honest and articulate answers, and good questions. Good work. Funny also to notice that the guys have never really changed perspectives much over the years, implying that they were always telling the truth in their media interactions which is hard to find amongst artists and public figures nowadays!
I love how at the end, george sums it all up rather nicely and then matty says the same thing but with like, 20 more complex words chucked in for effect.
'Is there somebody who can watch you.' is one of the best songs on the album and it got to me so much. The way he talks about it shows how much he cares and the way he says 'that's a sad song, that is...' It must be so hard to live this amazing life on the one hand, touring the world with his best friends and singing his own music that he wrote, then on the other hand, having a broken family life, and leaving his little brother at home in the middle of it all. Its so sad and I have so much respect for Matt and this beautiful song.
Love how Matty takes George's answer to the last question and says "narrative" instead of "story" and adds all of this florid language, resulting in his having essentially said the same exact thing. it's just so...Matty of him haha
I never comment on videos, but I have to comment and commend Robert Herrera for doing his research and actually giving a damn good interview. It's so refreshing to watch an informative interview where the interviewer actually knows what he's talking about and asks real questions. Thank you for that. And the guys gives such in-depth answers. I've got a much greater respect for them after watching this. Great, great interview.
This is the most interesting interview I have ever seen so far. The interviewer, Robert Herrera really did his job in researching about the band and didn't ask the boring question like "How did u guys get d name of ur band?"... and I can see that he can relate and comprehend the conversation well and pick up to whatever Matty and George are talking about.
Thank you so much for this! I seriously enjoyed speaking with the guys during this interview and I am really hoping for a reunion interview real soon in LA. Thank you also for watching. -Rob
"We're not just gonna like go on and play with pop stars, we've got records to make" Damn, love these guys even more just because how they think it's indulgent to play with bigger stars because they owe it to fans who found out abt them before and have been supporting :)
This was a great interview. I love how true they stay to themselves as a band for their music and not for bigger pop artists yet they're very thankful too. Beautiful guys!
The 1975 are my favourite band and I've been following them since late 2011 after seeing them live (before they were signed or even performed under the alias of 'The 1975'). I would watch any interview with them, but I just want to comment on how refreshing it is to watch an interview where we're able to hear the band explain themselves in a new way, instead of regurgitating the same answers to the same mediocre questions that they've been asked so many times already. I appreciate that greatly!
They're so real. They didn't want to tour with Rihana because it's not about being with the 'big' artists for the sake of it. They want to do it their way and I love that!
I love them, I do- I really do, but sometimes when they talk I have Captain Jack Sparrow flashbacks! As in- you really have to follow what they're saying, just to catch the point of their eloquent but circuitous speech patterns!
Who is still here 10 years later? I love this interview so much and so blessed to have had this moment early on with The 1975! -Rob
10 years later still here! I’m amazed at how this band teaches everyone how to be humble and confident with such a class
:) 2023 here. This interview remains one of my fav.
It's amazing to see they still uphold the same beliefs on fame. Matty's reiterated these in his more recent interviews. Definitely one of the things that sets them apart
I keep coming back to this interview

"We're not just gonna like go on and play with pop stars, we've got records to make" Damn, love these guys even more just because how they think it's indulgent to play with bigger stars because they owe it to fans who found out abt them before and have been supporting :)
Probably my favourite interview with them. Well done Robert you did it really well
Aw you can see how much their little friendship blossom s
This was a great interview. I love how true they stay to themselves as a band for their music and not for bigger pop artists yet they're very thankful too. Beautiful guys!
"A search within oneself to acquire a sure understanding of what you want to project." - Matt
this is one of my favourite interviews. This is raw, honest the 1975. This is what they're about
i love them.
wow seriously so much respect for this band they deserve every great thing. True artists.

Perfection!
"Yeah I mean we don't really talk about how we write. We wouldn't like to subserve the idea of other guys' position in the band" Spoken like a G! :)
Perfectionn!
They don't play to be assholes and rockstars . They're here for music and that's the best thing about this band.
omg if they opened for paramore that would of been an amazing show
the searching in oneself to acquire a true understanding of what you want to project

@@frontrowliveent It's the bit where he's playing with his chain 😍🥰🥵🤣 it's canny good aye!
finally an interviewer that gets matty's name right
Why does everyone think they're high all the time? Maybe they are just naturally chilled people
why in the interviews is only both of them? where are the other two?
sex and the city lol
10:50 "so" you can tell he's on an intelligent roll and just going for it haha
I hope they don't get burnt out from all the touring
I love them, I do- I really do, but sometimes when they talk I have Captain Jack Sparrow flashbacks! As in- you really have to follow what they're saying, just to catch the point of their eloquent but circuitous speech patterns!
