Merlin will do legal action (with no consequence for the 2 guys as usual). I hope merlin takes internal actions more than anything else as this clearly shows how useless merlin is even when the park is closed! Embarassing and DANGEROUS lack of security here. And it's 100% Merlin's fault (again).

Absolutely. Unfortunately we have to share this world with the most horrible selfish people who would risk injuring or killing others by recklessly breaking into a theme park and jumping on the rides etc. They deserve to go to prison.
I too have also asked merlin for a comment on the incident... Is it in fact illegal? Trespass is a civil matter, so as long as they did not climb a barrier to enter then not actually criminal until asked to leave.
Not even the one jumping from red force in spain was arrested. He might be arrested if he will reiterate the stunt in Spain the court said. If identified they usually get banned from the park(s) for life and that's it. But there are usually no fines nor jail - therefore cheaper than buying merlin tickets to climb their coasters 😉
I heard someone say on a livestream that they could've probably done this on Christmas/ Christmas eve late at night where there wasn't any staff and were instead taking time off. This is of course speculation and may or may not be true
My theory is that it was filmed on Christmas or New years, which in the UK virtually no one is working as its a major event here. Although not law but preferred by many across the industry witch would result in a very minimal security presence and if the small amount of security that would be there due to the two that broke in as they was acting rather erratic and could be seen a physical danger so police would need to be present to confront, ( if on the days mentioned prior) wich would result in either a very slow response or none at all from police due to party's exetra in stoke and towns. so personally, I don't view this as a issue with towers security, but the security on keeping them self's and the two safe as if a fight or chase between them could result in a posable injuries. My point if that a place like AT should have an alarm system (infrared, motion detection, etc) and a cctv 24/7 linked to a remote control room always monitored. Merlin has the obligation to keep guests safe. Period. They failed in 2015 with the smiler. They failed here again. This video shows anyone can get in, sabotage or put a bomb. This is a serious concern for guest's safety. But let's see what the official press release will say (if one will ever be released)

There were some speculation about this being authorised by Merlin but imho it's a clear no. Merlin will never authorise a human being to go on top of oblivon without harness. Also I don't see the benefit for merlin in doing a video like this. So imho is 100% authentic and not staged. Likely to be 24th or 25th December with no security on site due to Xmas.
Yeh no way. I’m a paralegal, I can tell you them being up there without harness = confirmation this isn’t legit. Merlin are scared shitless if the press reporting another accident at the park, even if self inflicted.
Shared this video with family that regularly visits the park. Even though this was a while ago it’s still best not to take the chance.

It's clearly around xmas as the decorations are there 24th/25th night is the most obvious for the reasons you mentioned indeed

Yep they just enjoyed themselves in the abandoned park for hours and then went back home.
