He’s amazing to watch. He’s not doing stuff that’s never been done before but he’s executing it all in a way that has rarely been seen. He’s incredibly gifted and you can tell he has drilled his move set by the precision in which he executes. Very fun to watch.

Revisiting his matches and it is uncanny how robotically and automatically he hits both of these moves- I feel like it may cause the gap between him and everyone else to quickly close as the coaches in Dagestan, Pa, etc dissect this. Another ingredient to his success (other than his superhuman speed) is his lack of hesitation and full commitment to the attacks. It is even present in the head pinch he hit on Vito- immediate execution with no pause to think. Truly impressive.

People will catch up to his move, but he is 20. He has time to grow

The gap is due to his physical and technical gifts. These moves are nothing new but he is crazy fast, strong, and technical. He has zero hesitation in the transition from clearing and attack. You can see it in his opponents in some of the matches. They take a quarter of a second (not literally) in their adjustments or decision making and he’s already made his decision and then they’re playing catch up.

Brilliant world class breakdown is what it is folks. And you already know you can’t get this anywhere else. Not unless you in a top 3 D1 Room or RTC. Let me explain. We all watched the matches right? Sure we all saw it happen. We knew this kid was lighting quick. But to identify pattern of the offensive attack within a few hours is crazy. Then to follow up the finishes step is step is absolutely butter. And to see World Champs unable to stop it, this pure wrestling gold. EYGM Gang Baby.
PS: After the Olympics, we did not a tournament like this. Maybe we’ve gotten too cocky? I don’t know but what a wake up call and smack in the face this was for Team USA. It’s back to the lab again boys, the world has gotten better. 🙏🏼

His staggered stance and the ways he uses it is insane.

Thanks for the breakdown. A lot of my jiu jitsu buddies were claiming that Ono is just fast. I honestly didn't know who he is till watching the video. And by your breakdown, it is obvious that his technique is unparalleled, gonna adopt his snaps from today on.

      Quick update:
I tried his primary attack and it works wonders. Even for setting up other takedowns or generally breaking opponent's stance.
The overtie snap is pretty hard though, but I will keep trying.

He is, by far, the most dominant wrestler on earth. Incredible control, offense constantly, never slows down, and is fast beyond measure. He will the greatest wrestler in world history. Incredible performance.
