Beautiful and touching music. Her nanny in China looked like a kind and gentle lady. I love that smile at 5.01! Simply heart winning. All the blessings to your family.

She is now 5 years old a very much aware she is chinese and hopefully she is very proud of it. Though she will never meet her biological parents she will know her roots, we've planned a big trip to China when she is a teenager to visit her birth country. We talk about her roots on a daily basis it is just part of our lives, kinda of hard to hide it don't you think
Proud Mom to 2 chinese girls

Hello! My name is Maila too. My ancestors are from China. What a beautiful story this is! It brought tears to my eyes. It's good to know Maila will have a good life now. I hope to adopt a girl someday too but it is too expensive. You are truly blessed.

Bless you both for giving this child a permanent, loving home. I'm sure the returns are manifold. If only I had the courage...

My daughter was adopted from Yangchun in February 2006. We are currently waiting for our second child. My daughter LOVES this video. We watch it at least 5 times a day. I'm hoping it helps her with our return trip.

THis is lovely. We are 7 months in to our second adoption and posted our own video, "Adopting Gianna Forever." How sweetly I remember so much of what was on your video.
This second time is taking much lnger than our first, but it's wonderful to know there's someone we are going to fall in love with all over again.
    Peace to our daughter's birthmothers.

A note to let you know that there are some comments I will not approve st this time. The reason for this is: I made this video as a gift to my daughter. She is only 5 years old at this time and can not understand the social issues behind her adoption. We will explain it to her in a loving way when she can understand it. For now we want her to understand that there are more reasons for her to be proud of her heritage than to be ashamed.

aloha, just returned from an 18 day trip to Beijing, Huining and Dingxi. We were granted special access through a foreign NGO and was blessed to visit several orphanages, schools for the disabled, a remote school in a mountain which we blessed them with clothes, school supplies. It was the most spiritual moving experience for me. I love everything about this country and cannot wait to return next year. Just though I'd share. Love the children there, so much life and love.

It would be kind of sad if she grew up not knowing her roots. Everyone must face the truth as they grow, she has Chinese blood, and should be aware if not proud of that. I wish her happiness...

She's so sweet and adorable! It sucks that children are left on the street because of their parents or circumstances. She is a very lucky baby. She is lucky to have found you and I'm sure vice versa! All the best.

That can be a good thing because then you know they're still able to form attachments. Some children who have been neglected lose that ability because they learn early on there is nobody they can count on/trust.

What a beautiful baby girl!! God bless you all. Just wondering, what are the names of the two songs, and who sings them? They are lovely! Brought a tear of joy to my eyes!

Maybe your right my daughters will never really understand what it is to be Chinese. We sometimes say they are like bananas yellow on the outside but white inside. They lost their chance to really be chinese when we adopted them. But they gained a family that will love them dearly for the rest of their lives and we are trying very hard that they be proud of their origines, because we are.

We do not adopt through a website. We adopt through an adoption agency. We do not choose our child, It is luck that ours just happen to be so adorable.

I love this video! And you are so lucky to have her.. She is beautiful and now she has a family that will love her forever. So she is lucky too. :) How old was she when you got her? I always ask this when I see Gotcha-videos, since I am interested in how old are the children given for adoption. It depends on the parents, their age, I think?

  • @kardancer1
    @kardancer1 14 ปีที่แล้ว +2

@danpt2000 I don't understand why people always critisize people who adopt from other countries. About them not knowing their culture. When in truth most adoptive parents will educate them selves about their child's place of origin and will make sure to give their child that knowledge of there culture. Their are also many things like ethnic festivals "even chinese ones. arts, food etc. All over the country. Parents they want understand their child's background, to fully understand their child.

Oh, I don't know :) she looks pretty happy to me :) There's no reason they can't be involved in Chinese culture and the Chinese community as they grow. Maybe they'll study in China some day,,maybe they'll adopt from China some day :) what matters is they are healthy and happy and proud of who they are :)

YoLy Candelaria Chinese culture is so beautiful and complex that no none Chinese could ever do it full justice. But by reminding her of her roots and encouraging her to seek out her culture they will be doing an amazing job. Most times the child if old enough to understand chooses to "drop" the Chinese part and even refuse to continue to speak it at all. My friends adopted a little 5 year old they had set up a place in a local Chinese community school for her to attend there so she could begin to be taught English while retaining her existing Chinese. She went for about six months then just declared no more and refused to continue to attend or if she could completely disrupt any class where it was solely in Chinese. She's 16 now and has recently decided to go back for next two years Chinese was never completely lost but it's at a child's level. She wants to be able to communicate when her parents and her returns there for her 21st birthday no one tried to stop her being herself and that was of course Chinese but when younger all she wanted to do was to fit into her new life as she was old enough to be able to differentiate between them and she told us later that she thought if she forgot how to be Chinese they couldn't send her back not that that was ever even an issue but in her childish way she knew she didn't want to go back to orphanage poor kids breaks my heart to think someone I love and cherish was so afraid AND WE DIDNT KNOW AT THE TIME HER DAD THOUGHT THERE MIGHT BE AN ISSUE BUT NEVER THAT ONE SO THE POOR KID SUFFERED TILL HER ENGLISH WAS GOOD ENOUGH TO TELL US WHY SHE DIDNT WANT TO KEEP UP CHINESE SCHOOL OR CULTURE IN HER HOME.
