Loved the intro rockchick. I was playing around with my AKLOT TENOR ELECTRIC the other day with 6 different effect pedals and my new Marshall MG15R amp. And my little dog went upstairs to bed at 2pm that's how crap I am. Must start using my headphones ( poor little dog )
Nah, the dog needs to up his music appreciation. If it helps, one of my cats HATES me playing any kind of ukulele in the same room as him - he'll have to learn! LOL
I just. Love what you are doing. At 50 plus , I am doing something similar in a small way for adults , who have mental health. As is with mental health it keeps mine in perspective as well. As a friendly joke you are "my first older role model."Actually you make me smile , most times , I watch. Again the ukulelians arrived and I am in possession of a stratocaster risa ukulele second hand. I have to respect the neighbours , now. Big grins for anyone going electric.
Thank You Amber, I thoroughly enjoyed reading your comment and really glad to hear you are doing similar things to help. Totally agree, it REALLY helps my own mental health, especially with everything that has been going on recently. Have fun with your Risa too, ROCK IT!!!
A great video Rachel, love that cherry sunburst and hoping mine arrives in the next couple of days. Have ordered the Risa hard case as I think your advice is quite right. Belated Happy Birthday Rachel, and thanks for your videos. Bye the way it sounds really nice through your bass amp.
Hope you enjoy it Steve, maybe it has already arrived. Yes, I have considered the Risa hardcase, my only thing with it is that it doesn't have a shoulder strap. Have fun rocking it up!
Thanks Sue, it was great fun. We have a school fun run every year and myself and the other music teacher did actually dress up like this a few years ago, the kids love it. Will have to do it again me thinks!
Thanks. I don't play baritone so probably wouldn't swap the tuning but I'm pretty I have read on forums of it being done successfully on the tonor Risa ukes.
@@UkuleleWales No worries Rach. Reason I mentioned it, was Matt Warnes did a vid a few years back where he tuned a tenor uke to Baritone tuning and it worked really well. I was looking for an electric Baritone, but they were like "Rocking Horse Poo". No one seemed to make them. Hence why I ended up with the Fender Tenor Tele. Thay call it a guitar, but in all esscence it's a Baritone uke. :)
@@UkuleleWales Never heard of them before. Thay have some really nice looking instruments ........ all I need now is to borrow someone's credit card. :)
I think it’s the Spring Reverb by Mosky, cheap mini pedal. If you check out my video - pedals for beginners - you can see the pedal. th-cam.com/video/Fxxw9FUwXiE/w-d-xo.htmlsi=3A-i0Cmw--3_K3aA
Awww c’mon, I was expecting you to keep the Slash gear on for the whole episode🤣👏👏👏👍❗️This Uke is totally ‘Lush’, as they say in the valleys 🎸😎👍. 96.8Db on the ‘overdrive’ by the way😊❗️
OMG , you are a hoot with the wig. I have the same uke and it is tremendous, love it. But, as you said, the gig bag is very disappointing for the quality and price of the instrument. I have gotten high quality cases with ukes costing less than half the price. It is a real beauty though and great fun to play. Will look forward to future videos on it.
Thanks Loree, I dressed up like this in school a few years ago so I thought it would be a shame not to do it again! Glad you agree about the case, I do think it could be improved drastically. Glad you are enjoying yours too. :-)
Hi Rachel, terrific intro and fine review of the Les Paul uke! Can you comment on ergonomics when moving from an acoustic uke to a solid body electric? My brother, a electric guitar builder, recently surprised me with a solid body electric uke that he crafted for me. Like the Les Paul, my new electric uke has wonderful sound and awesome sustain. But it is so heavy! At the moment I can only play it for about 15 minutes at a time. The instrument is well balanced but when I sit it is heavy on my lap and hand and when standing, using a normal uke strap, the pressure on my neck/shoulder gets quite uncomfortable. Any tips you might be able to offer me would be appreciated.
Thanks Erin and awesome that your brother has built you an electic uke!! They are much heavier, I'm so used to heavy bass guitars that I can cope with the weight but I do tend to use a strap even when I'm sitting down and I tend to use 1 1/2" straps so slightly wider that a normal 1" uke strap. Also, try making the strap a little shorter as I find it ditributes the weight better. Hope this has helped but please feel free to ask anything else.
@@UkuleleWales Thanks Rachel, helpful suggestions! I have gone ahead and ordered a wider strap and will try keeping it bit shorter than what I would use on my acoustic ukes, as you suggested. Thanks again.
Hi , apologies for such a delay in replying. Hopefully you’ve had your new Risa by now and are loving it. The pedal you ask about is the Donner Auto Wah Pedal with some reverb playing too. It’s still available on Amazon I think. 👍
Hey Slash, great review and cool costume! 8^D I wonder if you could string the Risa with regular electric guitar strings 1-4 to get baritone tuning? I guess it would depend on the string gauges it comes with, and, even if it worked, I'd be concerned about intonation and other issues.
LOL, Thanks Jules. I have definitely read that it can be done or you could look for a mmmmmmmm baritone electric uke............ ooooh, who makes those! ;-) PS still waiting arghhhhhhhh
I wrote a reply, but it disappeared, much to my dismay. So another try--I have some very exciting news! Guess who is waiting now, too? First name starts with J. Why is she waiting? First name starts with F. Probably will be waiting until December, if not longer. P.S. May I just add: !!!!!!!!!! 8^)

Sorry, Lady , it is not a bold on neck , like all LP models its a so called neck through guitar, the big difference to those bold on guitartypes . Its stiffer in region and you hear in your playing. Clear tone and great sustain.
Thanks. Yes did actually think it was a bolt on but then realised during the video that it wasn't. My husband reminded me afterwards that it's a set neck like the Les Paul guitar.
The best of both worlds... a guitar sounding ukulele!
Totally agree, great sound, lovely instrument to play.
Great review Rachael loved the Hair at the beginning.
Thanks Margaret. I actually dressed up as Slach in school a few years ago so thought it would be fun to do.
