If it's correct that you could buy 6k worth of product there are absolutely people with 30+ of them. They're just smarter than those LGSs and waiting to sell them or posting a couple at a time.

@@bloodyhandedgod People in chat told me to try going to the check out page, it let me check out. I don't think I was able to get back in line 3 hours in without starting over after that, since it puts you in the 20 minutes to check out timer. If people are truly that upset, I can give away the product when it arrives and go print some proxies. I think if I edited footage from the stream in, it would have made more sense, but this video was all in one shot.
@@Amazonian I haven't heard of anyone getting the cards they wanted that legitimately waited in the queue. I would say keep the card you ordered, all you did was prevent a scalper from getting it instead.
Imagin if you wait in line to pay for a thing in your shopping cart. Then some one else comes and take your item from your cart, cut the line, and leave while you cant do nothing about it. Then you leave the store see the same guy selling your item for double of the price...

Imagine you go to Walmart, and you grab a soda. You go to the register to pay for your soda. The cashier TAKES YOUR SODA, points to a line and says "you'll have to get in line to buy this soda. We want everyone who wants soda to be able to buy their soda but in a fair manner." Four hours later, you find out the soda THAT WAS IN YOUR HAND has been sold to someone else. That's what happened here.
In your scenario everyone before you also did that. A more analogous scenario is that you grab a ticket at the video game section to buy a Switch and bring it to the front. They tell you that you have to wait in a line to check out with your ticket. When you get to your turn they tell you that it's sold out.

That is a good way of thinking about it. People don't mind waiting in line for products and stuff as long as you have the product in your hand happens all the time with over an hour wait for Black Friday, opening dates for hot commodities or other stuff that have a placeholder item even if you aren't holding it which they respect. Or even a numbered system telling anyone after order X will not be able to get it. That should be the case here, enter queue and the system knows you have the product and therefore no one should be able to manipulate the inventory of said product you are waiting to purchase. It should not be a problem even through an "higher than expected" and "whoops obvious issue number 10 hit us!" statements.
It's funny how a bunch of stores on TCGPlayer ended up with dozens of these Secret Lairs for sale at about 5x the price. Funny how they were able to get so many

It's literally first come, first serve. I don't see how it is "unfair". You didn't log in for 5 hours after release, to arguably the most popular IP, WotC has ever printed for. Even if they printed 10x the amount, you probably wouldn't have been able to show up 5 hours later and get what you want.

I am absolutely begging big companies to understand that limited quantities of heavily in-demand items only help scalpers. They don't help consumers, who get mad, have to pay higher prices, or don't buy them at all and just proxy. They don't help the company, who wind up selling LESS than they would if they just made a bunch of them. They just help scalpers.
The sad part is they do actually help the company, just not in sales. Limited time runs are sometimes used to signpost to investors "hey our product is really in demand" in order to get/maintain funding. It's very narrow signted, especially when it ends up stepping on the toes of established customers, but the number has to go up so who cares if it'll hurt them in the long run right...

Exactly this! Just do a limited run of Secret Lairs that are already printed (so they ship out faster) and have a print to demand model past that point. Everyone wins with this model!
For example, if they had 1000 Secret Lairs already printed and ready to ship, after those 1000 Secret Lairs sell out, they could swap to a print to demand model. They'll ship out slower, but it means more customers are happy and able to buy the products they want to buy, and it means more money for the company. Hell, they could still point to the statistic of how fast their products sold out by using the "limited run" of 1000 Secret Lairs in this example. "Our first 1000 Secret Lairs sold out in 2 hours!" WotC can have their cake and eat it too. But Hasbro hates good business.

There is no way you believe that every one of the bugs amy mentions in the video was a deliberate choice by wotc it’s just their typical digital incompetence. @@csrjjsmp of course I don't think that the bugs were intentional. However they used to print to order. Which while personally I felt that the cards were overpriced and I wasn't going to get them, people who wanted the cards could be sure that they would get them. My issue isn't with secret lairs existing. (Though there are some, namely mechanically unique cards and with a few cards for a large price is extreme) its with the current secret lair system being geared towards scalpers.
I sat in the queue first thing when I woke up this morning. Didn't even think to browse social media to look for a trick to get in, I sat patiently with the window open on my other monitor. 5 hours later and I see the update that the Storm set is sold out, so I wasted my morning waiting around. I'm more than a little miffed that Wizards handled things this way.

Create demand by having a limited number that will ship out immediately along with Arcane Signet special print. Guarantee they would have made way more money and not burned goodwill. They have before had both, as in, pre-printed stock and when that ran out, it went to print-to-order batches. There's no reason this shouldn't have been like that, they're throwing away money.

yeah im still fuckin mad that secret lairs were ever moved to limited print. they are literally designed to be a print on demand so that it can fully meet demand and reach the exact audience that wants the specific product.
They did that because of licensing for Universes Beyond. They have to negotiate the license with IP's like Marvel beforehand; they can't just be like "ya we'll wing it and let you know" nor can they just print however much product they want. Besides that, they will never fully meet the demand for a product like Marvel.

That was handled EXTREMELY poorly and Wizards should be ashamed of themselves for that kind of execution. I joined the cue at 9am sharp and it told me that I had to wait over and hour. At some point it told me two hours. 4 1/2 hours later the screen jumped me into my cart (after trying to buy the non-foil Wolverine originally) and my cart said empty. I refreshed and then I went to add it to my cart again since it wasn't in my cart, and the Wolverine Secret Lair said sold out... as well as everything else except for Iron Man and T'Challa. WTF?! And now they're going for almost $200 per Commander card on TCG Player? Ridiculous.....
I was on the website 30 minutes early and selected the items to my cart as soon as they became available at 9am pt on the dot only to wait for 4 hours in a queue. Then when my wait in the queue was over my entire cart was empty and I wasn't able to get anything. Absolutely ridiculous.
I got in the queue in literally 8 seconds and was waiting for 3 hours, and then my cart was empty because what I was wanting was sold out. My brother also got in early, but a little after me, and got in in about an hour and got everything he wanted.
Same happened to me ordered from the start. 3 hour wait. And bumped with no notice. I refuse to buy anything from WOTC from this day forward if they don't fix this for those of us they screwed over. I had put aside 10k to buy marvel spiderman when it comes out but that will not happen now.
I waited for like 3 hours to get a message that "it's your turn" then when I clicked through it said my session had timed out and my cart was empty... what a piss off. Screw you WOTC.
It did the same to me. Its because something in your cart sold out. You were still able to re-add anything that was still available in the 20 minute checkout window
You mention print to demand being a challenge, but I think we should actually challenge WotC to solve that problem. Imagine a world where they have a whole catalogue of Secret Lairs you can buy at any time. You could still do fancier limited releases, too. The mention this mainly because there's no shortage of places you can go for pretty high quality proxies these days, and they'll get them to you in a couple days. If random printers can do something like that, I think WotC could hypothetically come up with a higher quality version of that if they really wanted to. This one's kind of a bummer, because it seemed like they were saying, "don't worry, we have enough."
I was in queue for 2.5 hrs, got to my turn, storm foil got sold out so it loaded an empty cart. Placed a non-foil of it and Ironman, put my payment info in, then I got a message saying "we cannot process your order at this time." Refreshed and it was all sold out
There was also an incognito tab trick that allowed me to skip the line after already waiting in the queue for an hour and a half. Way too many vulnerabilities to this Scalefast queue system. Just go back to print to order for gods sake.
It was weird i waited for an hour at noon and all I did was back out of the page and go back in to look at the products and it just straight up let me buy it so I bought 5 wolverine rainbow foils
Can confirm timers were going up. Started right at open got in line pretty much one minute after store open. Went from an over and hour to 59 minutes to 3 hours to 2 hours to over an hour.
I’m not going to go and harass the guy, but Rosewater has completely lost all credibility. The guy has been fine with being made a liar at every turn, and then has the gall to defend the lies Hasbro keeps forcing on him. Dude makes as promise, and I honestly do believe he thinks he’s saying something true, but the moment the dang suits in the C-Suit passes down an edict, he cowers down and licks their boots.

Let's establish good will for our new UB push by limiting our secret lairs at the same time, making it so that people can't get it besides the most dedicated of scalpers and their bots! That's sure to get new players into the game as well (you know the main positive argument for why UB is good for the game). This whole thing has been so incompetent from Secret Lair to 50% of standard sets being UB that if you told me this was a psy-op to tank goodwill so when they walk it back in a year people complain less about UB/Secret Lair I'd believe you.

I was in queue as they went live. At 12:06 the queue paused for around 20 minutes at which point it resumed. After 1.5 hours my turn came up and I was logged out. Thankfully when I logged back in my place in the queue was held and the foil set was still in stock. I was very lucky I worked a late shift today.
I find it pretty sad on how Wizards is treating secret lairs nowadays. I managed to get the bob ross set just fine before they changed the secret lair systems though. I was highly wanting to grab the Monty Python Sets since I'm a huge fan of the movies. I was in queue about to buy my 5 sets. Then to tell me It was all sold out after a 8 minute wait. I so wish Wizards could go back to their old system which worked just fine and dandy during the bob ross set era so badly to give everyone a chance. like come on This is getting depressing at this stage. for people like me who wants to get sets for certain ips i enjoy like Monty python at a fair price. :(
I went to the checkout within seconds after opening and then were sent to the queue for three hours. I got both the products that I wanted but the Arcane Signet and some other foil products had already been gone. So yeah, no idea what I could've done to get Arcane Signet or the full drop.
Just like you, I hopped on at 9:00 am PST on the dot. I waited for nearly 4 1/2 hours to get the Heroic Everything Bundle and update after update telling me each set was sold out making the bundle sold out. This sucked big time.
Go proxy, pro proxy, waisted 4 hrs today just to get shut down. Yah know wont fail to take my money. MPCFill and MTGprint Wizards sucks and this is just another drop in the bucket of failure.

I had the foils in my cart, i waited 4 hours and when I got in my cart was gone. I MANAGED to get the non-foil collection. I called it a day, because it was ridicules experience
Thank you for this video. Wizards knew this was a big seller - in October, Chris Cocks says the biggest Secret Lairs make $7-8 million. So, they probably made at least that or possibly more.
A limited Arcane Signet is wild. The card printed in every commander deck is somehow more limited than the matching Secret Lair cards? An absolute joke
I was fortunate enough to get through the que in a couple hours and was able to get both of the cards sets I wanted but I wanted the Storm foil. For some reason though it was “temporarily unavailable” and locked me from buying it even though it was still available stock wise. It was pretty frustrating
Geez, I didn't realize how lucky I was to get through. I live in Germany, and joined the queue at exactly the release time. Even though I was signed in already, and had been waiting, I was surprised it was still listed as over one hour wait time. I had enough time to make dinner while waiting since it was 6 pm over here, but eventually I got in after glancing at my phone since the sound didn't play this time. There was even a time that the queue was paused for a little bit. Why were these not print to order? There are plenty of non magic players I know that were going to want to buy this, but I don't think they knew how hard it was going to be.
When the first secret lair universes beyond dropped I was off the firm belief that they should have used the "alternative name and art" they had introduced in ikoira, so there would always be a normal, easier to get a version of the card. This just further proves my point.
This is so frustrating. I was one of the fortune few who managed to get my Captain America lair after being in queue for 3.5hrs but the idea that people had to wait longer than me to be told no is lame af.
I'm honestly super depressed, I blocked out my whole day and really fucked up my schedule trying to get the Storm secret lair, and was really excited for it, only to not even have a chance to get it after 4 HOURS of waiting. Now the only way for me to get it is by paying $200 to some scalper on eBay. I was honestly really excited to build an EDH Storm deck with her as my commander, it would have been the first IRL EDH deck I actually brewed myself (only played with precons) after first getting into Magic half a year ago.
I purchased 1x Iron Man, Wolverine, and Storm foils completely legitimately having no idea about the cart trick or bypassing the line. Got in exactly at 11AM CST when it opened and it still took three hours. Now that I know the time fluctuating from over an hour to thirty minutes then back to an hour just because people bypassed the line kind of infuriates me. I can only imagine how much worse it was for everyone who did what I did and didn't get anything. I cannot believe this secret lair has been this bad.
I got super lucky somehow, I joined the line right when it opened and was able to get in in about an hour and a half and buy the cards I wanted. But I shouldn’t have to get lucky to play with cards that I wanna play with without paying predatory prices.
Was rough for me, was 2am here in Japan when the queue opened. It took me 2 seconds to add the bundle to shopping cart and enter the queue for 2.5 hours. Was almost 5am before I went back to bed for a 30 min nap before work. By that time the Arcane Signet already sold out, I literally cannot be faster. Thanks for letting me know about this secret queue system. Very frustrating to know afterthefact.
This was such a horrible experience for a first time Secret Lair user. Also joined queue exactly as they went "live", 4hrs 20mins in queue waiting and just slowly watching that box expand with more and more items that were now sold out.
What is disgusting is most the scalpers were using a backdoor to bypass the queue line all together and bought up all the stock. Now there's thousands of ebay listing's for 3-5x the price
This is why I stopped buying products from them entirely, I take the profs advice and buy singles. I keep posting on all the big streamers videos, if the community would just band together and say we're not going to take this and stop buying from them and hit them in the pocket book then they might stop treating their players like absolute shit
Ngl, I kinda feel bad because someone posted a workaround that I thought was a bugfix to a seemingly busted queue timer that turned out to be an exploit to skip the lines, but I only realized it was an exploit after I finished the purchase. Not much I can do about it, since all sales are final. Limited print runs are complete horseshit.
Kinda sad that they'll never reprint these commander cards in a in magic universe list cards as wotc just like the day before said that they wouldn't do that even though they said they would before.
I joined exactly at noon EST, got put into a cue for "More than 1 hour," and then their servers crashed and I had to watch Twitter for updates until the cue resumed. AND THEN, MY FRIGGIN POWER GOES OUT!!! I'm not kidding, I thought I just wasn't going to be allowed this, but then my power came back on, my internet came back online, and my web page was able to be restored and I was back in line. After 2 hours I finally got to order, so I'm relieved and happy, but what a debacle to have been a part of.
Thank you for voicing our frustrations. I went in to today's event not expecting to be able to get anything, but with all the issues combined I left the tab open on my second monitor while working, by the time I was able to grab stuff, there were only 2 options left to grab, when all I wanted was a non foil storm. I really hope Hasbro gets yelled at by marvel for this treatment of their fans, but I doubt it will happen. Thank you Amy!
I joined the queue when it was evening here in europe and I actually fell asleep before it was my turn because it took hours. When I woke up it seems my turn had come around and expired and everything as sold out
As someone in Australia, the drops come online at about 4am. We have to try to stay awake for HOURS in the small hours of the morning and then still miss out on the overpriced cardboard because you had no chance of getting it anyway.
One thing my play group noticed is the more you would spend the quicker you through the wait. One of my friends got the foil bundle only waited an hour. My other friend got 3 waited 2 hours. I got the iron man one waited 4 hours. One of my friends entered after me, got the foil bundle right away.
I Loved being in Queue for 2 hours to miss out on the drops I wanted...I just wanted foil Storm. At least I snagged normal Storm, friends were not so lucky. This system sucks.
Thanks for this video Amie. I was excited for these but then remembered when I wanted asterian for my commander deck I logged in later in the day after my shift and was sold out. I also wanted Monty python and same happened. WOTC basically don't care that you have schedules or a life outside of the game. So I just don't bother with chase secret lairs. Also scalpers are low lives and I urge everyone not to buy secret lairs 2nd hand unless you find a price that reflects the cards "actual value". If we buy the 2nd hand price hikes the scalpers literally won and what's to say they haven't sent empty packaging for an inflated price? Wouldn't surprise me as they are that type.
i started work at 11am in texas when it started i got lucky my phone kept up with the line as i worked i saw the line pause and the arcane signet sell out it was strange to see my time go from less then hour to more then a hour my little orange guy got to the finish after few hours
No first come first serve even more so because even if you get lucky enough to get to your cart there's a chance your cart will just glitch out and give you an error message until your 20 minute time and cart times out.
Didn't know about the cheat to queue early, didn't know about the link to cheat the line. Waited 4 hours and missed out on Storm. Honestly just thankful I got anything before they sold out. A number of my friends apparently waited in line too and missed everything
I got my bundle luckily, but I joined the queue in ~5 seconds from when it was available (work from home) and it took me around 1-1.5 hours to actually get to the checkout screen. Feels like it must have been bots or people backdooring with the strategy you mentioned. It's crazy how broken this system is. Also isnt WOTC/Hasbro losing money while not printing to demand? They definitely would have sold a lot more...
I guess I just got lucky. I feel really bad for the people who weren't able to get it. I was able to get the foil bundle, but after about 45 minutes of waiting. Maybe the time you originally open the website matters? I opened the website before they opened the shop, then refreshed it when they displayed the items but weren't selling them yet. The queue timer seemed to know when I had originally visited the page because it displayed that I had originally gotten there an hour before the actual sale started. I'm not sure if this actually does affect anything, but I hope everyone has the best of luck in the future and maybe this will help.

Maybe the que skipping was mostly a US problem? I was into the que 1 sec after 18:00 The que lasted around 1.5h (including the "pause"), when I got in all of the products was still available and I was able to get the Heroic Bundle. A few of my mates I was chatting with at the same time did the same and with same result. One mate was a bit slow to get into the que as he was browsing the products for a minute. So he had les product to chose form, but still got the non foil bundle after 2.5h in the que
Initial print run plus print to order at the very least would be nice. What I would prefer is for ALL of the old Secret Lairs to be available to order at any time with print to order. I would wait 6 months for fulfillment if I could order a Heads I Win, Tails You Lose deck directly from them right now.

Checked out the page around 2PM EST and saw they were all still available and I thought "Oh sure why not, I'll get one." Took me three hours to get halfway through the que before it told me they're all sold out. It's never taken me longer than 40 minutes to get through the que before. This was insane.
I got in right at 11, like not even a second after to make sure I got the ones we wanted and I was in que for 3 hours while people were getting in AFTER me and checking out. Prof sent a link in his discord to skip the que so it all worked out but that was a time investment that I'll never do again
This is like monty python where I have to wait 2hrs in line to just wait for nothing but in this one I have to wait almost 6hrs which is much worse and I started checking out exactly when it opens for sale.

Would be nice for some transparency, as someone who also waited in line etc, having hit the checkout button within 10-15 seconds of it opening. How can your "Spend 199+" item already be sold out? Shouldn't you be making enough to at least fill a fair bit of options considering you'd know this would be super popular.
I was sitting in the checkout line 10 seconds after it went live. My queue time ended up being at least two hours, and I only got my two because someone posted the "skip the line" workaround. God I miss print-to-demand.

Regardless of whether anyone deems the Secret Lair drops to be worth it, why did you decide shortcutting the system to get what you wanted was the right thing to do?

I don't think I was able to get back in line 3 hours in without starting over after that, since it puts you in the 20 minutes to check out timer. If people are truly that upset, I can give away the product when it arrives and go print some proxies. I think if I edited footage from the stream in, it would have made more sense, but this video was all in one shot.

There is realistically no amount they can print that would meet the demand for this type of product.
Imagine you go to Walmart, and you grab a soda. You go to the register to pay for your soda. The cashier TAKES YOUR SODA, points to a line and says "you'll have to get in line to buy this soda. We want everyone who wants soda to be able to buy their soda but in a fair manner." Four hours later, you find out the soda THAT WAS IN YOUR HAND has been sold to someone else.
That's what happened here.
In your scenario everyone before you also did that. A more analogous scenario is that you grab a ticket at the video game section to buy a Switch and bring it to the front. They tell you that you have to wait in a line to check out with your ticket. When you get to your turn they tell you that it's sold out.

That is a good way of thinking about it. People don't mind waiting in line for products and stuff as long as you have the product in your hand happens all the time with over an hour wait for Black Friday, opening dates for hot commodities or other stuff that have a placeholder item even if you aren't holding it which they respect. Or even a numbered system telling anyone after order X will not be able to get it.
That should be the case here, enter queue and the system knows you have the product and therefore no one should be able to manipulate the inventory of said product you are waiting to purchase.
It should not be a problem even through an "higher than expected" and "whoops obvious issue number 10 hit us!" statements.
It's funny how a bunch of stores on TCGPlayer ended up with dozens of these Secret Lairs for sale at about 5x the price.

It's literally first come, first serve. I don't see how it is "unfair". You didn't log in for 5 hours after release, to arguably the most popular IP, WotC has ever printed for. Even if they printed 10x the amount, you probably wouldn't have been able to show up 5 hours later and get what you want.

I am absolutely begging big companies to understand that limited quantities of heavily in-demand items only help scalpers.
They don't help consumers, who get mad, have to pay higher prices, or don't buy them at all and just proxy.
They don't help the company, who wind up selling LESS than they would if they just made a bunch of them.
They just help scalpers.
The sad part is they do actually help the company, just not in sales. Limited time runs are sometimes used to signpost to investors "hey our product is really in demand" in order to get/maintain funding.

Exactly this! Just do a limited run of Secret Lairs that are already printed (so they ship out faster) and have a print to demand model past that point. Everyone wins with this model!
For example, if they had 1000 Secret Lairs already printed and ready to ship, after those 1000 Secret Lairs sell out, they could swap to a print to demand model. They'll ship out slower, but it means more customers are happy and able to buy the products they want to buy, and it means more money for the company. Hell, they could still point to the statistic of how fast their products sold out by using the "limited run" of 1000 Secret Lairs in this example. "Our first 1000 Secret Lairs sold out in 2 hours!"
WotC can have their cake and eat it too. But Hasbro hates good business.

Which while personally I felt that the cards were overpriced and I wasn't going to get them, people who wanted the cards could be sure that they would get them. My issue isn't with secret lairs existing. (Though there are some, namely mechanically unique cards and with a few cards for a large price is extreme) its with the current secret lair system being geared towards scalpers.
I sat in the queue first thing when I woke up this morning. Didn't even think to browse social media to look for a trick to get in, I sat patiently with the window open on my other monitor.
5 hours later and I see the update that the Storm set is sold out, so I wasted my morning waiting around. I'm more than a little miffed that Wizards handled things this way.

yeah im still fuckin mad that secret lairs were ever moved to limited print. they are literally designed to be a print on demand so that it can fully meet demand and reach the exact audience that wants the specific product.
They did that because of licensing for Universes Beyond. They have to negotiate the license with IP's like Marvel beforehand; they can't just be like "ya we'll wing it and let you know" nor can they just print however much product they want.
Besides that, they will never fully meet the demand for a product like Marvel.

That was handled EXTREMELY poorly and Wizards should be ashamed of themselves for that kind of execution. I joined the cue at 9am sharp and it told me that I had to wait over and hour. At some point it told me two hours. 4 1/2 hours later the screen jumped me into my cart (after trying to buy the non-foil Wolverine originally) and my cart said empty. I refreshed and then I went to add it to my cart again since it wasn't in my cart, and the Wolverine Secret Lair said sold out... as well as everything else except for Iron Man and T'Challa. WTF?! And now they're going for almost $200 per Commander card on TCG Player? Ridiculous.....
I was on the website 30 minutes early and selected the items to my cart as soon as they became available at 9am pt on the dot only to wait for 4 hours in a queue. Then when my wait in the queue was over my entire cart was empty and I wasn't able to get anything. Absolutely ridiculous.
I got in the queue in literally 8 seconds and was waiting for 3 hours, and then my cart was empty because what I was wanting was sold out.
My brother also got in early, but a little after me, and got in in about an hour and got everything he wanted.
Same happened to me ordered from the start. 3 hour wait. And bumped with no notice. I refuse to buy anything from WOTC from this day forward if they don't fix this for those of us they screwed over. I had put aside 10k to buy marvel spiderman when it comes out but that will not happen now.
I waited for like 3 hours to get a message that "it's your turn" then when I clicked through it said my session had timed out and my cart was empty... what a piss off. Screw you WOTC.
It did the same to me. Its because something in your cart sold out. You were still able to re-add anything that was still available in the 20 minute checkout window
You mention print to demand being a challenge, but I think we should actually challenge WotC to solve that problem. Imagine a world where they have a whole catalogue of Secret Lairs you can buy at any time. You could still do fancier limited releases, too. The mention this mainly because there's no shortage of places you can go for pretty high quality proxies these days, and they'll get them to you in a couple days. If random printers can do something like that, I think WotC could hypothetically come up with a higher quality version of that if they really wanted to.
This one's kind of a bummer, because it seemed like they were saying, "don't worry, we have enough."

This set was WotC's biggest fuck up. There's legitimately no excuse for it.
I was in queue for 2.5 hrs, got to my turn, storm foil got sold out so it loaded an empty cart. Placed a non-foil of it and Ironman, put my payment info in, then I got a message saying "we cannot process your order at this time."
Refreshed and it was all sold out
There was also an incognito tab trick that allowed me to skip the line after already waiting in the queue for an hour and a half. Way too many vulnerabilities to this Scalefast queue system. Just go back to print to order for gods sake.
It was weird i waited for an hour at noon and all I did was back out of the page and go back in to look at the products and it just straight up let me buy it so I bought 5 wolverine rainbow foils
I look forward to not buying these cards on the secondary market for 10 times what the scalpers paid for them.

Can confirm timers were going up. Started right at open got in line pretty much one minute after store open. Went from an over and hour to 59 minutes to 3 hours to 2 hours to over an hour.

Let's establish good will for our new UB push by limiting our secret lairs at the same time, making it so that people can't get it besides the most dedicated of scalpers and their bots! That's sure to get new players into the game as well (you know the main positive argument for why UB is good for the game).

I was in queue as they went live. At 12:06 the queue paused for around 20 minutes at which point it resumed. After 1.5 hours my turn came up and I was logged out. Thankfully when I logged back in my place in the queue was held and the foil set was still in stock. I was very lucky I worked a late shift today.
I find it pretty sad on how Wizards is treating secret lairs nowadays. I managed to get the bob ross set just fine before they changed the secret lair systems though. I was highly wanting to grab the Monty Python Sets since I'm a huge fan of the movies. I was in queue about to buy my 5 sets. Then to tell me It was all sold out after a 8 minute wait. I so wish Wizards could go back to their old system which worked just fine and dandy during the bob ross set era so badly to give everyone a chance. like come on This is getting depressing at this stage. for people like me who wants to get sets for certain ips i enjoy like Monty python at a fair price. :(
I went to the checkout within seconds after opening and then were sent to the queue for three hours. I got both the products that I wanted but the Arcane Signet and some other foil products had already been gone. So yeah, no idea what I could've done to get Arcane Signet or the full drop.

I waited for nearly 4 1/2 hours to get the Heroic Everything Bundle and update after update telling me each set was sold out making the bundle sold out. This sucked big time.

I was fortunate enough to get through the que in a couple hours and was able to get both of the cards sets I wanted but I wanted the Storm foil. For some reason though it was “temporarily unavailable” and locked me from buying it even though it was still available stock wise. It was pretty frustrating
Geez, I didn't realize how lucky I was to get through. I live in Germany, and joined the queue at exactly the release time. Even though I was signed in already, and had been waiting, I was surprised it was still listed as over one hour wait time. I had enough time to make dinner while waiting since it was 6 pm over here, but eventually I got in after glancing at my phone since the sound didn't play this time. There was even a time that the queue was paused for a little bit. Why were these not print to order? There are plenty of non magic players I know that were going to want to buy this, but I don't think they knew how hard it was going to be.

When the first secret lair universes beyond dropped I was off the firm belief that they should have used the "alternative name and art" they had introduced in ikoira, so there would always be a normal, easier to get a version of the card.

I'm honestly super depressed, I blocked out my whole day and really fucked up my schedule trying to get the Storm secret lair, and was really excited for it, only to not even have a chance to get it after 4 HOURS of waiting. Now the only way for me to get it is by paying $200 to some scalper on eBay. I was honestly really excited to build an EDH Storm deck with her as my commander, it would have been the first IRL EDH deck I actually brewed myself (only played with precons) after first getting into Magic half a year ago.
I had to be stupidly lucky then. I waited around two and a half hours in total and got 4 foil products
I purchased 1x Iron Man, Wolverine, and Storm foils completely legitimately having no idea about the cart trick or bypassing the line. Got in exactly at 11AM CST when it opened and it still took three hours. Now that I know the time fluctuating from over an hour to thirty minutes then back to an hour just because people bypassed the line kind of infuriates me. I can only imagine how much worse it was for everyone who did what I did and didn't get anything. I cannot believe this secret lair has been this bad.

Was rough for me, was 2am here in Japan when the queue opened. It took me 2 seconds to add the bundle to shopping cart and enter the queue for 2.5 hours. Was almost 5am before I went back to bed for a 30 min nap before work. By that time the Arcane Signet already sold out, I literally cannot be faster. Thanks for letting me know about this secret queue system. Very frustrating to know afterthefact.
This was such a horrible experience for a first time Secret Lair user.
Also joined queue exactly as they went "live", 4hrs 20mins in queue waiting and just slowly watching that box expand with more and more items that were now sold out.
What is disgusting is most the scalpers were using a backdoor to bypass the queue line all together and bought up all the stock. Now there's thousands of ebay listing's for 3-5x the price

This is why I stopped buying products from them entirely, I take the profs advice and buy singles. I keep posting on all the big streamers videos, if the community would just band together and say we're not going to take this and stop buying from them and hit them in the pocket book then they might stop treating their players like absolute shit
Ngl, I kinda feel bad because someone posted a workaround that I thought was a bugfix to a seemingly busted queue timer that turned out to be an exploit to skip the lines, but I only realized it was an exploit after I finished the purchase. Not much I can do about it, since all sales are final. Limited print runs are complete horseshit.

I joined exactly at noon EST, got put into a cue for "More than 1 hour," and then their servers crashed and I had to watch Twitter for updates until the cue resumed. AND THEN, MY FRIGGIN POWER GOES OUT!!! I'm not kidding, I thought I just wasn't going to be allowed this, but then my power came back on, my internet came back online, and my web page was able to be restored and I was back in line. After 2 hours I finally got to order, so I'm relieved and happy, but what a debacle to have been a part of.
Thank you for voicing our frustrations. I went in to today's event not expecting to be able to get anything, but with all the issues combined I left the tab open on my second monitor while working, by the time I was able to grab stuff, there were only 2 options left to grab, when all I wanted was a non foil storm.
I really hope Hasbro gets yelled at by marvel for this treatment of their fans, but I doubt it will happen.

I joined the queue when it was evening here in europe and I actually fell asleep before it was my turn because it took hours. When I woke up it seems my turn had come around and expired and everything as sold out
As someone in Australia, the drops come online at about 4am. We have to try to stay awake for HOURS in the small hours of the morning and then still miss out on the overpriced cardboard because you had no chance of getting it anyway.

One thing my play group noticed is the more you would spend the quicker you through the wait.
One of my friends got the foil bundle only waited an hour. My other friend got 3 waited 2 hours. I got the iron man one waited 4 hours. One of my friends entered after me, got the foil bundle right away.
I Loved being in Queue for 2 hours to miss out on the drops I wanted...I just wanted foil Storm.
At least I snagged normal Storm, friends were not so lucky.

Thanks for this video Amie. I was excited for these but then remembered when I wanted asterian for my commander deck I logged in later in the day after my shift and was sold out. I also wanted Monty python and same happened. WOTC basically don't care that you have schedules or a life outside of the game. So I just don't bother with chase secret lairs. Also scalpers are low lives and I urge everyone not to buy secret lairs 2nd hand unless you find a price that reflects the cards "actual value". If we buy the 2nd hand price hikes the scalpers literally won and what's to say they haven't sent empty packaging for an inflated price? Wouldn't surprise me as they are that type.
i started work at 11am in texas when it started i got lucky my phone kept up with the line as i worked i saw the line pause and the arcane signet sell out it was strange to see my time go from less then hour to more then a hour my little orange guy got to the finish after few hours
Limited product availability is a scam that companies can legally do. It only helps scalpers and other dodgy behaviour.
No first come first serve even more so because even if you get lucky enough to get to your cart there's a chance your cart will just glitch out and give you an error message until your 20 minute time and cart times out.

I got my bundle luckily, but I joined the queue in ~5 seconds from when it was available (work from home) and it took me around 1-1.5 hours to actually get to the checkout screen. I guess I just got lucky. I feel really bad for the people who weren't able to get it. I was able to get the foil bundle, but after about 45 minutes of waiting. Maybe the time you originally open the website matters? I opened the website before they opened the shop, then refreshed it when they displayed the items but weren't selling them yet. The queue timer seemed to know when I had originally visited the page because it displayed that I had originally gotten there an hour before the actual sale started. I'm not sure if this actually does affect anything, but I hope everyone has the best of luck in the future and maybe this will help.

Maybe the que skipping was mostly a US problem?
I was into the que 1 sec after 18:00
The que lasted around 1.5h (including the "pause"), when I got in all of the products was still available and I was able to get the Heroic Bundle.
A few of my mates I was chatting with at the same time did the same and with same result. One mate was a bit slow to get into the que as he was browsing the products for a minute. So he had les product to chose form, but still got the non foil bundle after 2.5h in the que
This was first secret lair I’ve been waiting in line for. It started at 9 and you didn’t have to do anything tricky
Initial print run plus print to order at the very least would be nice. What I would prefer is for ALL of the old Secret Lairs to be available to order at any time with print to order. I would wait 6 months for fulfillment if I could order a Heads I Win, Tails You Lose deck directly from them right now.
Yepppp same thing happened to me. I went on right at the drop time and I waited so patiently just to have everything sold out. I waited a total of 5 hours for nothing
I was on the site beforehand and the second it was available I clicked add to cart and immediately checkout, on que for an hour and ten minutes, got what I wanted and bought it. I guess I'm lucky

Days like today I'm glad I don't really care about Secret Lairs. This seems absolutely miserable.
Are you able to share the link you used to circumvent the queue now its over? I'm curious as to what the exploit is as it should be fixed by WoTC before future sales.
Checked out the page around 2PM EST and saw they were all still available and I thought "Oh sure why not, I'll get one." Took me three hours to get halfway through the que before it told me they're all sold out. It's never taken me longer than 40 minutes to get through the que before. This was insane.
I got in right at 11, like not even a second after to make sure I got the ones we wanted and I was in que for 3 hours while people were getting in AFTER me and checking out. Prof sent a link in his discord to skip the que so it all worked out but that was a time investment that I'll never do again

This is like monty python where I have to wait 2hrs in line to just wait for nothing but in this one I have to wait almost 6hrs which is much worse and I started checking out exactly when it opens for sale.
Well that explains the queue being over an hour long when I joined within seconds of the drop launching. Didn't know about any of these exploits until now, but I luckily managed to check out after about an hour and a half wait
Would be nice for some transparency, as someone who also waited in line etc, having hit the checkout button within 10-15 seconds of it opening. How can your "Spend 199+" item already be sold out? Shouldn't you be making enough to at least fill a fair bit of options considering you'd know this would be super popular.
