The Usual Suspects should have been on the list.
Kint isn't who he claim to be.
Kint played by Kevin Spacey, who was also Keyser Soze.
Kint attempts to convince the feds that the crime lord not only exists, but he was responsible for drawing Kint and killing his four partners into a multi-million dollar heist that ended with his frineds death.
He wasn't crippled and he made up the story from wanted poster, coffee mug and other things at the police station.
No old school movies or black and white movies
Citizen Cane, should have been on the list.
The end of the movie shows what Rosebud really was 🛷

But it isn't really a PLOT twist, they were just misleading with the advertising and everyone being accustomed to seeing drew Barrymore in the lead of whatever she's in was also to blame. It did subvert expectations but it don't qualify as a plot twist, in my personal opinion, everyone is entitled to their own.

    • @simio85
      @simio85 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

@@dylanglaze990 I Agree! Feels like a plot twist but is more a shock factor for me. The marketing went smoothly with such a famous actress like Drew, and after 13 minutes in the movie she’s out in a way that feels sad and cruel. I don’t think there’s another scene from the series made with such care and smart from every choice. A lovely second would be Rose Mcgowan in Scream2 imo .

Black Christmas wasn't a plot twist, we KNEW the caller was in the house, that was shown at the beginning. We saw the killer enter the house during the first 5 minutes, stay up there throughout the whole movie, and make the calls from the upstairs phone. None of this was a twist. Now, the same reveal from When A Stranger Calls, now THAT was a twist for the same scenario.

Which one was the guy who painted himself like the brick wall in her apt? Was that “when a stranger calls back”? Or also a babysitter movie had the guy calling from the house to ask her if she “checked on the kids”-do y’all remember? Evidently she had not! And some said there’s a 2nd line the guy was using but then we all figured out how to call our own self but I don’t remember how we did it, it wasn’t the operator-it was just a pattern you dialed on the phone but that’s only after push button was around. I don’t think it was rotary dial! Good grief! Who knows?!

High Tension was hilarious for me. My partner was watching the movie and got to a scene where Marie was hiding in a room or closet or something in the main house while the "killer" walked around. I walked out of my office, looked at the tv for a few seconds, and went "oh, so she's the killer but just crazy?" and went back to the office.
I've still never actually watched High Tension. I tossed that out as a joke and ended up spoiling the twist by accident.

High Tension is still one of the worst, hole filled twists ever put to film. She was the killer, yet simultaneously in the house and outside of it, sometimes well away from it. The twist must have been that she had powers where she could be in two places at once and/or teleport. People who enjoyed that twist are the lowest common denominator that many filmmakers like to play to. Angel Heart, on the other hand, deserved more than an honorable mention, as did Carnival of Souls.

I’m only 20 minutes in, but I’m surprised that the twist (the tenants & husband were all in on it) in Rosemary’s Baby wasn’t at least given an honorable mention.
The viewer knows something’s going on and that the neighbors are weird, but that’s a lot different than knowing they’re ALL in on it from the very beginning, including her husband, before the weirdness even started. It always creeped me out that her apartment had secret entrances for them, implying that a) they’d tried this before and/or b) she’d been targeted before she moved in.
I’d also consider her last minute change of heart towards her baby a type of twist as well. It doesn’t effect the plot, but I didn’t see her maternal instinct & love completely over-riding her horror and fear. As the cult leader reminded her… a baby needs its mother. Even if its father is the devil.

The movie with Ryan Reynolds, Buried, was SOOOO depressing! I like that actor, but the movie made me sorry I saw it. He did a good acting job, however.

The Visit??? If you didn't guess the twist halfway through at the latest - it probably was your first movie.

Saddened not to see "A Tale of Two Sisters" on this list.
SPOILERS: Double twist first of the little sister being dead, then the big shocker of the evil stepmother actually being the older sister experiencing Dissociative Identity Disorder.
This is a film that has so many hidden clues, as well as visual metaphors throughout, that I literally have watched ATOTS over and over again in order to discover each and every single one of those little gems. It is also an incredibly visually beautiful film.
I also rarely become emotional while watching a movie, however "A Tale of Two Sisters" managed to wrench an incredible sensation of overwhelming sadness out of my cold heart. It is still fully capable of doing so.

You didn’t tell it correctly about David killing the rest in the vehicle that ran out of gas. You say that “David shocks the group by killing them, including his son.” The group agreed that they will die by bullet to save themselves from a worst fate. Then you say, “when David’s about to turn the gun on himself, SURPRISE!! The mist clears.” That’s not quite how it happened. There were five survivors in the vehicle but there were only four bullets in the gun. Leaving David to deal with the worst fate. Only to realize that the mist cleared and that he shot the group for nothing!
If you’re going to report on something, tell it correctly!

I like Terminator 3. Especially when you consider where the series went.
If you follow up through 3 and Sarah Conner Chronicles it is a pretty good story
