Hands down...the best bass synth demo out there! A fantastic vid. Some of the best channels I watch have sub 500 subscribers. Quality over quantity I always say. Keep up the excellent vids.
Awesome demo, Nate 😎🎸 🎹 this synth pedal sounds incredible. Especially on bass. I usually don’t use synth pedals, but it is fun to mess around with. It’s definitely inspiring when you experiment with synth pedals. Rather if it’s for recording or just testing it out on your own. It’s really fun to explore sounds like these.
Nate a trio of question how long did it take you to find the right spot for the pickup ?have you found a way to split the bass and the midi ? Do you feel confident playing this live? And thanks for the video
Just found out thata Multiscale Bass (I own a Dingwall) tracks way better with my Boss - OC2 than my Fenders. The Dingwall with the OC2 is way less glitchy, even in the lower octaves. Don't know if this transfer as well to Bass to Midi stuff like the GM-800, But You should give it a try! :-)
As Always, your demos are incredibly technical and artistic displays. I've had Roland Vbass(es) thru the years, and the biggest issues have been latency and low notes. I can't tell from your demo if either of these issues has been resolved in the new units. Also, a big selling point of the VBass was the COSM piece (emulation of other basses), does this unit have other bass sound as well?
You briefly touched on this but I wasnt sure: Can you use the GK-5B to trigger midi in a DAW? If so, how does that work? The required cable is jack to jack isnt it? Can you still split the strings so each one is a different sound?
The new system transfers the signal digitally. That's why you only have one cable. The strings still have their individual pickups like they did with the 13-pin cables.
Hello friend, I'm a grs lover, I have the gr-55, gr-33 and gr-20, I'm thinking about purchasing the gm-800, but I have some doubts. From your point of view, has it improved the issues of ghost notes and latency in relation to the grs?
How does this track the low E? I know a lot of these kind of things only work down to the open A string, which kind of makes them worthless for bass (in my opinion).

04:06 Holy Guaccamole dude, did you just play Nessun dorma on a Bass Guitar and a Guitar Synth 🎩Hats off
I don’t know why, but the above string preset reminds me of the string MIDI that’s used with Sibelius Sounds 7
You are amazing!

In GM-800, is there any upright bass like tone as well?

I have the Roland bass synth modular with the midi pickup. Will that pickup work with this system

He talkes about this in the video. The low notes can get a bit difficult to track fast enough.
Can it do church bells?
