Now that we've seen the fluff, let's get down to the real "nitty gritty" How about some interviews with real, everyday, struggling to survive, work and play here. We have a long way to go for all of Kent's residents to matter. As a homeowner for 14 years here, and as a Black Owned business owner for 7 years, I care and invest my time and efforts to make things better. Our government should listen to all folks who call Kent home, now and for the future.
Kent aint great, it aint ghetto like some people are saying. People act ghetto sometimes, but people wont do shit, if you actually think kent is bad, go to white center, yakima, Tacoma. Or go out of state to Detroit or LA
I was born in Auburn (i'm 49 years old) Raised in Kent, have a business in Kent. I get depressed when I see how this once quiet little farm town has turned into a huge, crime ridden dump. Thanks to Kent allowing nothing but section 8 apartment complexes to be built all over the city, the crime has become way to much. Many old time families who lived in Kent for generations have moved the hell out including me. Before long, there won't be enough contributors (tax payers) and soon there will be too many takers (welfare recipients) to keep the city running efficiently and soon it will resemble a little Detroit. As far as the cops "harassing" people, one good thing about Kent is it's police force. They don't fuck around. Kent police don't play the politically correct game and if you commit a crime, they will slam your ass no matter what race or color you are. Unlike Seattle police who are afraid to arrest any criminals especially if they are a minority. Trouble is, crime in Kent, especially violent crime has gone up so much the Police are running around like chickens with their heads cut off just to keep up with the crime.

Nicely done. Kent is, in fact, VERY pleasant, especially in the recently developed downtown area. I love it.
I paid 2k for a 3 bed apartment and there was a police involved shooting there today
