Hell Dre. I know you have moved on in the industry but watched all the republic videos you made.
I retired early from aviation career. Got bored as hell few years later. So at age 54 I decided to pull my CDL-A out of the wallet and give it a try and republic is close by. So- from application to job offer (today) was 10 days. They made me a good offer and I have accepted. Thanks for showing us the ropes. I’m looking forward to getting started and learning front load operations.

Glad to see big brother isn’t keeping you down man ! Always enjoy your positivity and how you work. I’ll be be posting again soon, take care -
Also thanks for putting Toon Mosley up there. I just checked him out and it makes me miss my days in rear load. Dude def kills it. Rear load is the hardest working job in trash.

Little late to the party here but to answer your question, in SoCal we use scout trucks (pickups with forks) for apartment pullouts. Most buildings have their 4 yarders or less in basements and trust me, you don't want to be pushing one of those up a ramp from a basement. Other buildings are so huge that it can be a long walk down a narrow driveway to where the dumpsters are. Also we have tight spaces to the point where custom narrow dumpsters are needed, which is why we have some pretty funny looking shapes of bins out here. Also most of our bins in L.A have the fork slots on the bottom similar to a forklift pallet.

I am in California and that's exactly what they do. I am in LA to be specific and one hauler has an entire area. There are so many cans. I live in an apartment where there is an incline with a metal rail for the gate. I would not be able to see it being done manually.

Exactly in Canada do the same thing, often too for dropping new bins off and picking up broken as well.

Dre almost every stop in LA is a pushout. That first bin isn’t far enough to bother with a scout truck btw.

Now that you aren’t working for republic anymore can you let us know how much you were averaging on a weekly basis? For those of us starting off in the garbage field

Ya idk why that place doesn’t do roll off collections or something but it’s preety entertaining and plus those guys are old so ig that’s why they do scout pull outs I agree it would be Easier if it was rear loader or better yet non pull out just dump and go Yk and some spots are to tight for a non pull out like for example my trailer park has cars and a wire above it used to be non pull out a long time ago awesome video thanks for the shout out man !

The truck the pulls the cans out for the front loader in California is because it's a lot of apartments that the truck can not maneuver in due to tight spaces and deep dips in the driveways. So to save time and a headache they have those trucks to get the cans ...and bring them out and take them back

Hey Dre my man you don't suck at posting video's you just gotta find out whats gonna work the best for you time wise and what have you yes it would be nice to see more of your great video's but its gonna mean more work for you with edit's and setting up what time of the week to post your video's and that's gonna eat up more of your time. Time that you really don't have much to spare in a day or week for that matter. I mean some of us OG members will understand it's hard to post 3 or 4 video's a week even harder when you have a wee little bundle of joy running around your crib but you know what ever you end up doing or how many video's you end up posting you old time members we be sticking with ya my good man.
On a side note maybe just try to put up your video on the same day and the same time and go from there.
Well here is the end of my rant lol and here's looking forward to a great weekend for us all and to my main man Dre keep them wheels rolling and stay safe
P.s. Maybe on one of your video's you could pop in a picture of your little baby.
    Till next time

Yea Dre those "crab " trucks what we use to call em are used to go into apartment buildings with like 4 to 6 2yrdrs with a incline..pushin those 2yd tanks are heavy..so thats why they do it..

Do you ever miss driving a tractor trailer? I remember you talking about doing over the road work and disliking it when you first started uploading videos of your republic work. I personally do local CDL A driving but still want to be a waste collector someday, however I worry I'll miss driving with a trailer. One of our vehicles in our fleet is a straight truck and I had to drive it last Saturday and I kept driving it like I had a trailer lol. One of the local companies out here has those Heil STARRS but they pay about $5 less starting out than my current company sadly

Hey Dre! This question may inappropriate, but I HAVE to ask. Have you ever found or seen anything in a dumpster that made you call 911? If you can tell us, please do. Thanks a lot, and happy weekend (hope you're off duty)!

Your truck is getting older and older whats the model a 2014? 2yard cans are pretty much nonexistant here, also neat that republic uses light blue for recycling as advanced here used to resticker and used very few blond lidded containers for recycle also seems there are very few allied containers, by chance will you do a review of the specs of your unit and is it a ex allied?

    • @rollingwithdre
      @rollingwithdre  2 ปีที่แล้ว

Yeah 2014 and don’t talk about my baby only I could do that lol. The light blue lids was a great idea for recycle and nah this truck came from a company called Bay Area that Republic bought out
