    Stuff we use:
CAMERA - This is the camera we have used to film 90+% of our interviews (over 200 interviews and counting) It continues to be our workhorse - amzn.to/2u66V1J
LENS - Most people ask us what camera we use, no one ever asks about the lens which filmmakers always tell us is more important. This lens was a big investment for us and one we wish we could have made sooner. Started using this lens at the end of 2013 - amzn.to/2tbtmOq
    AUDIO
Rode VideoMic Pro - The Rode mic helps us capture our backup audio. It also helps us sync up our audio in post amzn.to/2t1n2hx
Audio Recorder - If we had to do it all over again, this is probably the first item we would have bought - amzn.to/2tbFlM9
LIGHTS - Although we like to use as much natural light as we can, we often enhance the lighting with this small portable light. We have two of them and they have saved us a number of times - amzn.to/2u5UnHv
COMPUTER - Our favorite computer, we each have one and have used various models since 2010 - amzn.to/2t1M67Z
EDITING - We upgraded our editing suite this year and we’re glad we did! This has improved our workflow and the quality of our work. Having new software also helps when we have a problem, it’s easy to search and find a solution - goo.gl/56LnpM

Such a good point. Saying "I may not be your audience" is soooo honest.

I think the ability to "stay on 7" would be a good quality for storytellers to learn so we can get over the constant need for people to _get_ our stories. As a new writer, I find it difficult to believe in my stories at times when I don't get the validation I seek from people that I share the story with (usually in its unfinished state)

The final scene of the pilot for Man in the High Castle is what got me hooked to that show. I came late to the party; three seasons had released already, so I proceeded to binge all three and then waited in anticipation for the fourth.
Also, on the subject of opening title sequences, I loved High Castle's, and I also really love the ones for Deep State (I love the actual show a lot less).

So accurate. Not all people are gonna like every story, but hopefully at least someone will. pilots that got me at the first episode: lost, the blacklist, dead to me, killing eve.... etc.

The very first 5 minutes of LOST had me hooked. What's even better is that it maintained the same energy going forward in all the episodes. The human mind loves supernatural mysteries, especially the kind of mysterious you get a promise of solving.
At the time, I think it was the first high definition series I'd watched (relative to that time). The scene with the zoom in of Jack's eye opening for the viewer to see the pupils and retina with such crystal clear QualIty with such amazing details, I just knew I had stumbled onto something great.
I think I'm going to watch Lost again. I hope it hasn't lost its magic.

I like this so much because we're so often told that there is a structure that writers should always follow and with the greatest pieces of literature that is just not true. So the lesson from that dissonance is that before you write something great you should begin writing formulaic stuff you don't care for.

I've loved Shannan's insight into the industry, but this one is a big oof for me. She likes Friday Night Lights strictly for nostalgic reasons, not because of the story.
I know its all subjective, but I am kind of disappointed in her choice of media. All of them except for the Wire are mediocre at best. I still think she's a master at her craft, and few could rival her, but when it comes to her being an audience member she's basically a normie :| .

I mean I get it somehow. It's like a 5 star chef who munches on a bag of Lays with the cheapest ketchup from the gas station after work. It's relatable but telling the public about it kinda hurts your reputation :D

Right because I hate Queen Sugar and The Chi.
She's a true Southern women. Cause those scripts are weak
