Thanks for the comments guy when I test a knife and review it I try not to research anything other than some specs if needed since it often sways a review from hearing others opinions and reading about it...I now know how to pronounce the name as well as it being owned by Tony :) makes sense since its just as nice or better than the Microtechs, lol..
After watching this video I looked up Nebraska knife laws. I've never been so happy as when I found out OTF are legal to open carry in the State of Nebraska. Sweeeeet. Nice video as always!

If you take it apart and put a dab of grease on the spring it will eliminate the spring from ringing.

Being new to OTF’s I had no commitment or pre reservations. Trying a microtech for the first time and a Heretic . The Heretic felt so much easier/smoother/richer. So much so I could not ignore the differences. To be fair this model Heretic compares best to the microtech cypher smooth. I also just purchased one it’s arriving tomorrow. Maybe I’ll do a video comparing both?
I was under the impression that Heretic was a subsidiary of Microtech.
Yeah, just did 2 minutes of Sherlock Holmes style sleuthing and found out that Tony Marfione Jr does indeed own Heretic Knives.
I believe the blade has that type of grind because its CNC cut, then hand sharpened.

My wife looked at my ultratech and recon35 and asked why she didn't have a knife like that. Lol. I got her the manticore s. She is in love with it. The switch is amazing.
White lithium grease gets rid of that twang u were talking about...microtech uses it on their springs

I'm in Michigan. We can now own and carry switchblade and autos since last October but still not OTF knifes. I never got that law.
Actually, Hawk Knives have designed an OTF that has zero play called the Dead Lock. It's not my style with the switch on the front of the handle and not the top, but once one person innovates, others do too.
Interesting, its new to me maybe Ill get a hold of one eventually for testing and review thanks for mentioning it!

Them are over 1k..I seen 1,500 and up....and good luck getting one....I got lucky friday amd found and bought a Marifone Custom Glycon number #008....getting shipped out Monday....Can't wait to get it.....it was big money but hopefully it will appreciate in years down the road....

Not sure if someone here pointed this out so far; since you mentioned that the knife is equal or even better than a Microtech:
Anthony Marfione is the founder of Microtech Knives, and his son Anthony Marfione Jr, the founder of Heretic Knives. So the owner of the Heretic brand, got his chops directly in the Microtech workshop from his dad and his employees. So I think the Heretic Knives are indeed on par, slighty better, or slightly worse than Microtech. The son obviously has quick access to the same suppliers of the steel, can probably buy some of the machines needed to grind the steel at good prices, and had some first hand knowledge on how to make cool knives.
Chris, you referenced in this vid about "what was legal" by way of knives in Pa. I think it would be great if you did a series of vids on what knife types, blade lengths etc. are legal here in Pa. where you and I live, but other contiguous states where we may travel. Thanks for your great channel.

I think G&G hawk make an OTF they call the deadlock. its a new design of theirs that is supposed to have absolutely no blade play. does cost something like $1500 or so though.

I have the halo 2 and a lightning i love them both obviously the micro is better but I didn't hear a opinion on the scarab misfire issue but my halo works like a horse more if I could use it I live in California.
My carbon fiber ultratech has some twang when firing
grease on the spring fixes that, but opening voids the warranty... unless you're sneaky
if you get a chance fire it in and out a few times while your shaking it to see if it binds up and fails to fire. also retract it upside down while shaking. just wondering how smooth it fires in non optimal angles while in motion. like if you were defending yourself.

Where exactly did you buy it at? I like that color, but on their authorized dealer page almost none have that exact model OTF.

That's a good question, however, the solution is a dab of grease-- seriously.( On the spring, that is.)
If you put it on your car it will have almost no effect.

Glad to see Tony Marfione's son is taking after his dad... But I think he should charge less than microtech. Why would anyone pay more for these "new" otf knives if they can just get a trusty ol ultratech...

Your best bet is to buy online for cheaper prices and variety, finding high quality automatic knives is not common in society anywhere you have to find a specific knife shop that carries them by you...

Hey, I joined a Facebook group to hopefully sell a bench made infidel otf for 280 starting. Is that a fair price. It was an impulse buy that I don't want anymore and I never learned enough about knives to value it accordingly, but my research shows resale value is gone on them when used.thoughts? Thanks.

I bought a lightning just to take it apart and see how it works.

Heretic can't seem to get a date to release these. Don't know how you got one Jeff but I looked and looked for months. They said they would be to dealers, then nothing. Heretic also did not answer the phone and I called for quit a while over the last few months. I gave up, and got a combat troodon instead.
That said, Heretic needs to step up the chassis and mill a design or something. It just looks flat and basic. Then after all that, the recurve on the proto which was mouth watering is not going to carry over to production according to a dealer I work with.
Add all the bad blood literally with the Father and I'm just out on this company. Funky grinds and horrible pocket clips on the other models.

Not all OTFs have blade play in them. G&G Hawk Deadlock has no blade play in it.
Please learn to pronounce the company name properly.
Classic OTF style = the switch isn't on the side of the knife like this one has. You should study your stuff before posting it onwards. I've played with knives since 70's
