Thanks for the comparison, all those little Predator markings, the triangular aiming laser, and Yautja helmet bead on the Heretic are really cool. Thanks for the video.
IMO Kershaw Livewire will become Hall of Fame American design. The knife is epitome otf and elevates form/function bar for otf. Quintessential, elegant, and epic value. Reminds me of Bahaus principles. Pleasing with nothing wasted.
I agree with you. I have seen the price for the Livewire going up with all the new variations of the blade styles and also the Magnacut seems to bring the price up some.
Use rem oil. An extremely light dab of ultra light kpl may suffice as well. Too much of the wrong lubricant can gum up the works a bit. So just a small layer where metal rubs metal will keep it running right.
Like the video. Question am looking at livewire double edged. I have a CRkT ken onion redemption, like it a lot would like an OTF the same size if not bigger. Can't find a 4 inch blade otf. Any out there. Thanks
@@Knife_Life_EDC86 Everywhere I looked the mc was about 10 buck less than the 20cv which actually makes sense. Only some manufacturers are charging a premium for mc over 20cv/m390/204p because it's a little hard to get ahold of. When supply catches up with demand Magnacut should be more in line with s35vn cost wise because it's easier to grind than the 20cv.
@@fancyhitchpin8675 that actually makes a lot of sense and thanks for breaking that down for me. I didn’t know it was easier to grind so it all makes sense now.
Love my manitore, especially since I'm also a huge Predator Movie Nerd but a great knife none the less. I subscribed to your channel. Keep putting out good stuff brother.
@Knife_Life_EDC86 I just hope they come out with a wharnie Manticore and frag handle. I would drool over that. And thanks for the love brother, appreciate it!! You keep it up as well!!
I cut that predator bread off and made my own cause it was too long and when I carried it it would ding up the clip real bad so I made one shorter where it would ding up knife!
I Get Spungy i have many OTF's .Microtech'g are spungy also . The two Hera 2 and The new Microtech Gen 3 Combat Trodoon has Dual Springs and is the Best user Friendly ever .
Great review - I don’t trust Kershaw to keep making this excellent knife and that pocket clip my goodness, it looks like they designed an excellent knife and got tired and just threw on their ugliest, least expensive clip which is a shame. The Heretic is all US (the company) and more boutique for not a lot more money. I am a Microtech guy but also have a few Heretics.
Its somewhat of an older video and was still early in the learning on how to do videos on TH-cam. Definitely more than people think to learn when it comes to knives. Thanks brother
I was gonna say benchmates are overpriced, but I did buy a heretic manticore for $600 lol I didn’t know that about the blade movement. Makes me wonder how they got it to not move.
@@Knife_Life_EDC86 The manufacturing is rough but very precise, so there's almost no space to move. That's why the spring is pretty powerful and the button not very smooth to push and pull. Also I noticed that you showed one of the two switchblades here that is not symmetrical (the blade doesn't come out in the middle, but closer to a side). The three Benchmade (Infidel, Autocrat, Claymore) I have are symmetrical, and their difference is mostly a good choice (design matching the purpose). The price comes from the quality of manufacturing that ensured first the quality, then granted them the military contract (for the Infidel) that was extended to state's law enforcement distribution. It brought them to mass manufacturing, and they didn't reduce the price (that's why I agree about the overpriced feeling) so I assume they are highly profitable. But I have purchased different copies in Asia (including China) looking like exact clones and none had the same quality: same shape but moving like the switchblade you show here on this video. Maybe I'm just lucky with the models I have. It gives confidence when I use such a solid tool, event if I'm just cutting "baguette and saucisson" with it (I'm French 😊).

Thanks. I really do enjoy that heretic and what it reminds me of

I’m really not sure. I don’t have a lot of experience with OTFs but I think microtech may have something or at least close to it.
I recently got a livewire in magnacut (quite happy with it) and they are a little cheaper than the 20cv version, at least at smkw.
Really?! Must have a deal on them or something since they’re new but can’t beat that. Wish I would have waited now lol

I’m 37 as well! Great comparison man.
Thank you!
I like ur review. You got that great American sound. I couldn't guess what region you're from. Definitely some kind of Dixie. 🇺🇸
I'm from the good ole state of Indiana but I have traveled around some during my army days.
@@Knife_Life_EDC86 Indiana mixed. Cool.
Both look cool but that bead is awesome!
The bead was the selling factor
@@Knife_Life_EDC86where did you buy that sold with the bead?
I believe it was dlt trading but it has been in other locations also
You corrected and contradicted yourself like 10 times in 2 minutes. Speak a little slower my guy and you’ll be on your way
Thanks bud. Appreciate it.
Nice way to make a comment 👍
the kershaw comes in tanto too. and mine is magnacut.
Bladehq just released it in ultem or at least is going to release one

Awesome comparison!! Was actually looking for a video like this, I've been looking at getting the Manticore S. New subscriber here 😁

I have been wanting to check out a trodoon for awhile. I’ve always heard great things about them!
I also have a 'clone' one, purchased from wttblades, put it through some rough testing, and it seems to hold up well.
I checked out the site and it says it has the same materials as the real one. Almost bought one to try it out like you did.

Funny, when you grow out of “this is a knife,” they all do one job. Cut.
Totally not true! They’re also fancy prybars lol
You need to have a script already written so you don't struggle with your because people lose interest in you if you don't know how to express
Benchmade are better. The blade doesn't move when it's out.
