I love how you started by saying that this video was about the things you didn't like about Myrtle and it turned into things that you love about Myrtle.😅
hi guys you can get an exhaust fan unit from bunnings it has charcoal filters built in which are replaceable. it can be switched over to an outside vent . the brand we bought was a Bellini. it works great, has a built in light also 3 speed fan. keep up the great videos, love the van. beautiful couple.
Hi Jack and Megan great build on Myrtle. You should have a look at Stedi for outside lighting as they are small and compact, but can throw a great light.
Hey Jack, the water hammer in the pipe's is likely caused by the mixer taps, they are very much either on or off, not really a soft closing valve. You can get a surpressor from bunnings and T it into the pipes behind the shower, it'll fit in the cavity you have there. Good vid guys, great tips. Safe travels guys.🤙
I use rock lights with rubber mounts around my Patrol and it works great for camping and security. I got mine from Terralume which came with 8 lights and a control box and works straight off the 12v. Thought I would suggest it for you guys.
Roller rocker suspension has been around for a long time. It will go almost anywhere if you control, air pressure in tyres, speed & your right foot. Quite a few completing Gibb River road etc. Even a you tube video of a repairer in WA changing back to roller rocker from independent on his own van.
Yup agree entirely, our 2015 19'6 with roller rocker has been down the Birdsville, Oodnadatta and Tanami tracks with no issue and a 'few tracks' that aren't on the maps ! Drop your tyre pressurs and drive to conditions and all is good!
I think the suspension would be fine Off road, it's the rest of the van I would be concerned about. Dust and bugs getting in are the other two issues I would not like to deal with. Someone please sponsor these guys and give them a new van! They would be great promoters of your products. !
I'm loving Myrtle! I'm at the door/drawer front stage of my reno. What thickness ply did you use and what would you use next time? Have you thought about using the DIY magnetic flyscreens? you can buy kits from Bunnings. Happy travels
If you have a bit of pipe push it back into the wall a few inches it will probably stop the noise. Our new van did that and under the van I just pushed what I could further back into the wall which stopped it.
Can you get a small exhaust fan above stove for caravans ? There is a rubber thingys you can get to seal to put around doors and windows. Similar to the seals you find on car doors.
Hi jack and Megan while a off road van is they are not necessary the main thing is ground clearance which you have got when on bad roads you just have to be a bit careful and take your time and enjoy all the best Ron
Hey mate along with putting in a extra tank have you ever given a Water Bladder a thought You can get them for the back seat footwell and then grab a extra 120 ltr of water when needed Just a thought??
Hi, guys. I hope you guys are doing great. we see Myrtle is holding up to its tortured test. There is always something to do on a caravan when travelling. we hope you have sorted out your limp mode situation. I sent you a pm on Messenger because we had the same problem now and again, but we fixed it all now. Great videos. we are in NSW maclan, leaving tomorrow safe travelling cheers 🍻.
What about an awning off the side?? I've never seen you guys mention an awning maybe a missed the reason you don't have one. Do you find you don't sit outside as much because you don't have undercover/shade space next to the van??
Let just say this,I would take the old caravans over the new ones they put out here in the United States. I've only had mine for four years. Got it in August of 2020 before the factories started having supply issues. Now my floor in one area is feeling soft, yet I have no leaks. Now we have to take the underbelly down and see what's going on under there. Od it a fram issue or is the kitchen gray tank leaking? Wish us luck!!!
Do you have enough room under your sink to put a trap. If so they are about $10 from Bunnings and that will stop the grey water smell coming through the sink
Yet another great video guys. East-West bed no thank you. Especially when you get older and need the toilet more often. Your build is great. Having owned a van I think I may have done the layout a little different but different strokes for different folks. Stay safe guys.
I love how you started by saying that this video was about the things you didn't like about Myrtle and it turned into things that you love about Myrtle.😅
Haha we do love our Myrtle! 😂
@itsJackandMegan How could you not? She's a beautiful classic 😊
We absolutely love your charging draw. It’s a constant frustration so kudos to you guys for thinking outside the box ❤
Enjoy every bit of Myrtle! These old caravans used to go so many places before the new fancy ones came along. 😊
One option for positive pressurisation is a 100mm boat bilge fan and washable pod filter. You can install it in a cupboard. All for under $200

Ooo thanks for this I’ll have a look!
I hear you Myrtle…. I’m 51 years old and falling apart as well…

What a great idea making this video . Very informative . So happy things are working out for you guys .
You should try a new Joolca separating toilet. They aren’t that expensive and you can use composting.
Put in another water tank in and find 10mm old conveyor belt rubber and glue it on.

I didn’t realise they’re that capable!!

Yes you did say “car” and Kilcoy in QLD is Yowie territory. They even have a huge statue of a Yowie there.
Need led lights on a sensor around caravan that turn on when movement outside. Also cctv cameras on outside of caravan.
Have ya looked at the new Joolka toilet? lots of options.....

You both did such an amazing job, it’s a gorgeous van 💜 Giving me the itch to buy an older van and renovate too 😂

Great video. Very helpful. I have a campervan and can only use my air con when plugged in. What one do you have for off grid?
Hi jack and Megan I have a cubicle in my caravan and could not carry or plumb water so instead have a sponge shower (no shower)
100% agree with the anti-yowie; anti-yobo security lights Jacko !!
100% wish I had done it when we built it!
Someone pls sponsor these two and give them a freakin new Caravan 😂👍
We wish hahah
I agree. Give these guys a new van. These guys are one of the best if not the best travelling TH-camrs.
@ 🙏
What was the TOTAL cost of doing ya van up from purchase to hitting the road??

You need a one way valve in your shower line. SEAFLO PVC WASTE VALVE "HEPO-VALVE' WHITE look these up, you should be able to fit it
Thanks for this, I’ll definitely have a look at this!

put a inline waterless trap under the van
Hi guys what about an additional water bladder to help with those off grid times.
Hey forgot to mention. We do have an extra 40lt tank in the car.
Cool Ep guys, Why not fit a 200lt water bladder in the 100 series
What about wireless chargers
Will you be taking Mrttle across to Tasmania
Hello from Ireland🤚🏻
Hey thanks for watching!

Hey, we do have one under the sink.. it’s the bathroom one we don’t.
great idea to show your bad points for us to learn from.
What’s going on Jack, one spotty on the cruiser 😢
